July 2004 Another site that boasts no need to book, we were a bit worried by this as there was a big event going on the weekend we went, but there was plenty of room. Wonderful views of Ben Nevis, spacious pitches and good clean facilities. The shop also sells Woodland Fresh Skin So Soft!

July 2004 This is a great campsite, well run, very clean and very peaceful. The views are stunning. When you stay here you must try the Haggis from the food van that is located on site, this went down very well after a 8 hour walk on Ben Nevis which is just across the road from the site. There is also a well stocked shop and a Pub / Restaurant within walking distance. The other advantage is lots of hot water in the showers that are not on timers, just turn on the taps and enjoy. We will definately be going back.

June 2004 Excellent well kept site. Many uniformed staff floating about making the site very neat and clean.
Excellent hot showers, and very clean and warm toilet facilities.
Excellent situation for tackling Ben Nevis, which we did. Didn't make it to the top - but we will next time.
Will definitely return.

June 2004 Huge, well managed site with excellent facilities. Just one thing to add to the other reviews - it rains a lot here! This site gets very boggy being at the foot of the valley and the water takes ages to drain away. Bring an extra groundsheet if you can and don't forget your midgy spray!

July 2003 Very nice site, friendly staff, clean, hot showers, shops on site including a burger van and bar close by. But VERY expensive, £10 per person in a tent is wrong. And the prices the bar charges will put you off making a second visit.

August 2003 Great site. Amazing views of Ben Nevis and the facilities are pretty good too. The toilets and shower blocks are clean with plenty of hot water, the launderette is decent, and the shop isn't too extortionate either.
Had no bother whatsoever with the wardens, even though people where still making little bits of noise into the small hours - it just seemed to be sensibly handled.
Nearby restaurant is nice, if a bit pricey - the bistro is a lot more reasonable, and just as good. The breakfast buttie van on-site is OK, I'd recommend the Lorne sausages.
The River Nevis runs by just across the road from the site and is great fun to play in, and there's a playground for the kids, though even in August there's enough space near the tent for them to have a play.
I've taken away lots of great memories of my stay at Glen Nevis (trips to Loch Ness, all round the Highlands, getting to the top of Ben Nevis, watching my girlfriend walking round in her sexy camping shorts), but another I won't forget in a hurry is seeing some flash bloke having to call the AA because he'd locked his keys in his Ferrari.
A very enjoyable stay all round!

August 2003 Lovely site with excellent facilites, however do agree with the comments about the small number of showers for such a big site. That said, the showers were great, with plenty of hot water to warm you up. This site is more suited to back packers rather than families though as children are not allowed in the clubhouse after 6pm, so there was little to do in the evenings especially when the weather was a bad as it was! Good shop open long hours (till 9 at night)Well serviced lauderette with irons for you to use. The best thing about this site was the views. We pitched in Deerpark and never got fed up with the fantastic view of The Ben.

16th - 29th June 2003 This site, right at the foot of Ben Nevis, is sensibly laid out seperating campers from caravans and mobile homes. There are excellent washroom facilities (more than one block with one sited in each of the areas). I counted 4 seperate blocks which are available to everyone regardless the field you are in, if you want a smallish walk that is.
If you have a motohome there is a dedicated service point. The uniformed staff are quite freindly and mostly welcoming - depends which one you speak too we found.
The pitches are of a good size and they have sensible fire precautions. Good sized trees and hedging afford decent windbreaks if you need it and there are plenty of hook ups - but you must reserve these pitches in advance to be sure of getting one.
One field I'd avoid has their own water plant and it is a bit noisy.
The shop has everything you need and then some despite is's small size. I liked the on-site burger bar - really great for a cooked brekkie on the last day.
There is a helecopter landing pad about 400 yards from the campers and twice we were visited, quite a site seeing that chopper come in to land!, and well noisy too!
The adjacent road is excellent to walk along towards a scenic site known as Lower Falls, it goes past a YHS and a truly brill Bistro if you find the restaurant too pricey.
Noise at night was not a problem considering the 3 peaks challenge was in full swing and there was a lot of backpackers staying, and the only time we saw a warden was when they came to check the display of 'proof of purchase' tickets - Keep your in a plastic bag or away from the canvas, ours left a stain!
Cars are parked on a hardstanding away from at the edge of the pitches in the tent field. They provide plenty of tables and benches to to sit al-fresco when the weather permits.
I reckon this is a good site, Fort William is a good visit and great to stock up on provisions (big Safeway!) Ther eis plenty to do and great walking. Not the cheapest, but in line with other Scottish venues.
Enjoy, we did!

18 & 19 August 2003 As with all the other reviews this is a very large site. We arrived on a very wet day and although we reserved we had trouble finding a pitch that wasn't becoming a puddle! There are a lot of rules and some are silly eg you must pitch your tent 5 meters from any other tent (Did you pack your tape measure). The one rule that I did like was the no noise between 11pm and 8am and this seemed to be enforced. Didn't see or hear any worden but that could have been due to it chucking it down with rain. The shop is very good and there is snack bar (like the sort you get in a layby) that served good food at a reasonable price. The only real problem with this site is its too large and there are not enough facilities, five showers for 4 fields of tents is a joke! You have to time it right to avoid waiting or trape across to the other end of the site to find some others. If the facilities were increased this would be an excelent site.
