We booked at the last minute because we would have needed somewhere to stay for two weeks after attending the RetroFest on Newbury Show Ground.
Nick Smith, although full, juggled some of his pitches so that we were able to pitch up for two weeks on the best pitch we have used for a long time with electric hook up. Nothing was too much for him to do he was our Number 1 choice of Host. The toilet block (New) was always immaculate the grass well maintained and he showed care for his guests and made us feel very welcome. There is a fishing lake close by and plenty of room for Rallys and children, a lot of thought has gone into this Site. We will be returning many times in the future. Well done Nick.
10 out of 10.

This is a little gem of a campsite! And it's amazing value for money too!. Bishops Farm Campsite is immaculately clean in the toilet/shower block with two large mirrors and table tops for us ladies. Nick, the owner is very helpful and conscientious about the site so if you need assistance he is on hand. He helped jump start our car one morning! The washing up area was also very clean with plenty of bins and receptacles to put your recycling in. You had a washing machine and dryer to utilise too, which was handy as it was a bit wet we arrived. I would definitely recommend and stay here again, as it was a lovely peaceful setting and one of the best sites I have stayed in. I enjoyed the fact there is little hard standing as it is a field, near a wooded area so, enjoyable listening and watching the wildlife.

The site has very clean toilets and showers, in fact spotless. The slope is not very much at all, so no worry there.
There is a freezer for ice blocks which is helpful.
All in all a very good small site, but plenty of room.
There are two sections, the main camp with electrics section then a larger field for the tents.

Just a quick review, in line with my quick visits!
I often work in the Newbury area, and often need last-minute accommodation. I'm a keen camper, but I still like a good shower in the morning.
Bishops Green Farm is ideally located around 10 minutes from Newbury centre in the usually peaceful North Hampshire. They have always accommodated my arriving in the small hours (quietly), leaving early for work. And most importantly, the shower blocks are in very good condition: clean, spacious, bright, modern (although there is a little bit of limescale damage, which affects everyone locally). The price is excellent for this area of the country.
Negatives: Very occasionally there can be late-night traffic on the neighbouring road, but it's no worse than other camp sites I've stayed at.

A very pleasant site in an interesting area. We stayed to go to the Battle Proms at nearby Highclere Castle, as did many others on the site, but liked the site so much we will definitely return. The toilet block and dishwashing area is spotless. There were no queues even on a very busy weekend. The owner is frequently on-site and is friendly and helpful. A very short stroll from the campsite brings you to the fishing lake which is stocked with enormous carp, we spent a very pleasant hour sitting and watching them. An ideal site for dog owners.
There is a padlocked gate to enter the site with your unit, number given when booking, but an archway to drive straight through when just using a car.
There is a village shop nearby and larger supermarkets in Newbury. We recommend The Carnarvon Arms on Winchester Road, follow the Highclere Castle signs. The food is excellent, different from the normal 'Pub Grub', and reasonably priced.

We had a very pleasant 7 night stay. The owner was friendly and always available to answer any questions. Although on a slope it didn't really cause problems. The toilet and shower block was spotless and always well stocked with toilet paper. The outside washing up area was spotless too. Mirrors above the sinks would be a welcome addition - a minor criticism. Good value for money at £18pn incl h/up. We will certainly return if we are in the area again.
There is a local well stocked shop but it does not sell newspapers or magazines.

Nice Relaxing Break in a Lovely Setting - Watch stunning Red Kites whilst eating you dinner! Stunning wildlife, great views - very peaceful Very tidy and well kept site.
The farmer/owner (Nick) is very friendly and helpful with a relaxed attitude, and is keen to keep the site peaceful, calm and relaxing.
On arrival your pitch number will either be shown on the board. Caravan/Camper access is via locked coded gates, but there is smaller entrance for cars not towing - so you can come and go without having to fiddle with the coded gate and still know your caravan is locked up safely.
There's two fields. The main with 25 pitches all with hookup points. There is several water points, a newly built lovely brick facilities block and waste point. The ground is level and firm. The grass is well kept and the site exceptionally clean. The facilities are excellent and have 3 WC's, 2/3 Showers plus sinks etc for each gender. Plus separate washing up area, washing machine (£3), tumbler dryer (20p for 10 minutes), freezer and more.
Everything was spotlessly clean although this is obviously dependent on the disciplines of the other guests at the time. Hint: Toilet brushes are provided for a reason - use them!
Showers are wetroom style and are electric, therefore no risk of running out of hot water. Plus the added benefit of a head on a flexible hose and adjustable temperature was extremely useful as we have a 3 year old. Some sites have fixed temperature and fixed deluge heads - which are great until you need to shower your young kids. Showers are timed to 15 minutes (to simply avoid them being left on - but just press the button if you want longer) - but 15 minutes is long enough for even the dirtiest person surely!
£18 for a caravan with hookup was worth it in my view. We will 100% be back. The price is fixed even during holiday periods, so a bargain during these times!
The fishing lake at the bottom of the site (£10 a day I think) is a lovely beauty spot.
Thanks again Nick. You're a true Gent!

This is a peaceful site which is very easy to find and to access. There are no Tarmac pathways so in some ways it is little more than a field but some pitches like our corner one have an open outlook and you can stroll down to the fishing lake. Toilet and shower facilities were very good. Other users were friendly, as was the owner. Newbury is a short drive away and is a pleasant town on the canal. A tesco and M and S food store are just minutes away by car. We enjoyed a visit to the Discovery Centre at Thatcham where parking is free and there are walks suitable for all including those with pushchairs. Overall, this was our kind of site. Mainly suitable for adults, quiet at night, red kites soaring overhead and felt more in the countryside than it actually is! Just the job.

Back home after a four night stay at this site, we enjoyed our stay.
The site has a sleight slope, but was no problem for us.
The toilet block is one of the best we have seen on a smaller campsite, lovely and clean with free showers.
The village has a shop but didn't need to visit.
A large fishing lake is on the farm and we went down to watch the fishermen, we saw some large fish being caught, fishing seems to be getting more popular with Farm campsites, must buy another rod.
The area around Newbury is very nice.
This is a nice quiet site and if in the area again would make another visit.

We stopped here as a last minute decision en route to Portsmouth, we thought about sleeping over at the services but didn't really fancy that so looked for somewhere close to the A38 and this proved to be an excellent decision and for anyone travelling to Portsmouth from the North or Midlands this is an excellent little site (Portsmouth was about 60-70 miles)a very friendly owner who is always somewhere about, the toilets are impeccably clean the site is very well kept.
If it hadn't been for the stormy weather the plan was to ring and see if we could stop over on the way back.
Will definitely use again.
