Great campsite !
Pitches nice size, plenty of room for sitting out etc.
Lots of room for ball games in the middle of the field
Toilets very clean, also loo roll plus spares, also liqid soap supplied at hand basins,
Showers hot, clean, spacious and a chair to put your clothes on and keep dry.
Fishing excellent were not experts and we caught loads, day tickets £5
There is a shop about 5 mins walk outside the site.
Newbury town is about 15 mins drive away and has all the shops you need, also its by the river and a park with a boating lake,my boys hired a canoe and loved it.
We also visited basingstoke pool which has rapids and a lazy river and a space bowl and I think there are 2 other pools,it was £12 for 1 adult and 2 children so not bad price.
We will definitely be returning. Probably the cleanest best kept site we have visited

We booked this site at the last minute and were relieved to find it was a great little campsite - and an ideal base from which to tour the Newbury area. We pitched up next to the rally field, which was busy at the time, but by the following morning it was completely empty and made a good dog walking area.
There is a large fishing lake to walk around down at the bottom of the rally field and there are tall mature trees lining one side of the pitch. There's a high hedge between the campsite and the road, which wasn't a busy road - we didn't notice any traffic noise from where we were pitched. Very serene, very peaceful, with lovely views of the countryside.
There were probably about a dozen units in all on our stay. Our pitch was level, there was plenty of space between us and the tent next to us and the ground was very well-drained, despite all the heavy rain. The hookup was easy to use and didn't trip at all. Two large sinks are provided in the washing-up area, and I noticed there was a room with a tumble dryer and a washing machine too.
On our arrival the owner greeted us and was informative as to the local area (he was usually visible somewhere around the site and always busy - the site was very well-maintained), and we very much enjoyed our time there. We had to cut our stay short as the continual torrential rain and the unseasonal gusts of wind which snapped our main tent pole made it seem pointless staying on the last night.
The new shower block was impressive. There are lovely, roomy hot showers, somewhere to put your gear and hang your clothes when showering, and the block was always clean and tidy, with everything necessary being well-stocked. Lights are on motion sensors which is handy when entering the block when it's dark. (The notice in the shower block states that if the lights suddenly go off, in order to turn them back on you must 'wave your arms or whatever', conjuring up some amusing images).
The campsite itself doesn't have a shop but there is a local shop nearby, and Newbury is just a few minutes' drive from there (it has a town centre which has grown enormously since I was a kid), and there are many pretty villages, hamlets and downs around the area to explore (Watership Down is close by). I'd forgotten how heavily wooded the whole area is - there seemed to be more woods than fields in some areas. Newbury itself has a busy ring road and fast traffic, with traffic lights on its many roundabouts. (And one of those 'surprise!' highway planners' old favourites - a pedestrian crossing situated IMMEDIATELY after a busy roundabout on a long straight stretch of road - drivers beware!).
Newbury is worth a visit (and probably ideal if you like a shopping sort of holiday) as there are canals and rivers through the town - we walked along one canal and watched a barge navigating a lock, just a couple of minutes' walk from the town centre. The Tesco Extra store is on the outskirts of Newbury, between the campsite and the town, which is handy for stocking up if you don't want to have to drive into the town itself. Sadly for us, it poured most of the time we were in town and we couldn't find anywhere we could go to sit out of the rain, as we had our little dog with us and most town centres nowadays are not dog-friendly (Newbury shop and cafe owners - any useful advice on that one would be appreciated for our next visit).
All in all, very impressed and we would recommend this site - especially at £14 a night with electrics included during high season!

We stayed at Bishop's Green for a couple of nights whilst fishing on the nearby river Kennet at Thatcham. The site is pleasantly situated with plenty of cover around the perimeter of the main camping field. The ground was level and well draining if a little flinty for pegging out.
The facilities are modern, well appointed and were immaculately clean at the time of our visit just after the summer school holidays. Other folk on the site said that the showers and toilets were always well maintained even at busier times.
We dealt with the owners daughter-in-law who was very friendly and helpful.

We arrived early and the pitch which we were due to go on had not been vacated so we were offered a choice of alternatives without a whiff of fuss. They kindly suggested a pitch away from the (not particularly busy) road, but it wasn't a problem for us as as it turned out offered the best views over the fields and woodland below.
A lot of thought and effort clearly put into the very new wash block - very well done indeed. The only better we have been to is at Deer's Glade which has underfloor heating, however as Bishops Green Farm doesn't open in the winter season, not an issue.
The site is on a working farm, so do not expect a permanently manned reception/shop, children's playground or cafe. However you will find charming hosts and an immaculately kept site for enjoying the tranquillity of the Hampshire country side.
For children there is a small playground 200yards up the road in the village or a larger play area by the Wharf in Newbury, only 9 minutes away. Also try the Aquadrome in Basingstoke 20 minutes in the other direction.
Thanks for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back.

We have fallen in love with this site!
The site comprises of 2 fields, the main field and an adjacent rally field. We were in the rally field but it was still a really short walk to the toilet block.
The toilet block was always clean and tidy, the showers worked well.
A fish and chip van comes on friday nights which is really handy.
At the bottom of the rally field is a small fishing lake, it was £5 a day to fish, the lake is stocked with mostly carp.
There was plenty of room in the rally field for cycling, football etc.
It is a short walk from the site to the village shop and we also drove to Echinswell for a beautiful walk. Part of the walk took us through Watership Down country.
Newbury is close, also Newbury racecourse.
The owner was very friendly, this is definitely a site to which we will return.

We have stayed on this local campsite 4 times now and each time we are not disappointed. The owner is very friendly and helpful while not intrusive. This year we tried our new van out at this site and had a great few days.
Even though our van has its own facilities I chose to use the site showers as they are spotless, always have plenty of hot water with good pressure. There are two fields, one with electric hook up and one for rally use. Both have lovely views over country side with not a building in sight. At the bottom of the fields is the fishing lake which is open to day ticket holders but doesn't get over busy.
We have fished here before but not this year. Our experience was that it was fairly tough fishing due to crayfish getting to the bait before the carp do! The lake itself is reasonably sized and pretty.
All in all this is a great little site which we keep returning to when we want a relaxing break without having to drive too far from home.

This site is very well run. The toilet and shower block is kept exceptionally clean. The owner was friendly and chatty. There is a small shop just around corner. Local attractions. Include Newbury itself, very nice, also Newbury races.
Close to site is greenham common ex. Home of cruise missiles, and demonstrating women. The camp/tent site is quiet. With a gentle down slope, from a tent perspective pegging tent is very good. Overall would highly recommend, as a relaxing place to stay, as previously stated a well run site.

Was recommended to this site by my son,who had stayed here before. On arrival the owner came to meet us and showed us where to pitch, the grass area was short and was well looked after and we were lucky to get a hard standing. The toilet and shower block was always immaculately clean, and constant hot water. We will definitely go back again and send our friends there as well.

A very well kept campsite with very clean toilet and shower facilities. This was our second weekend stay here and bought friends with us this time as we liked it so much. First stay booked at last minute managed to squeeze us in! Small shop provided basic provisions in village and playground for little ones 5 mins walk. Shopping complex with Tesco's 10 mins drive toward Newbury very handy. We stayed in the rally field but still close enough to the facilities although a little slopey where we were positioned but could level our trailer tent with no problems. Rally field only used certain weekends so no rush to pack away on the Sunday and loads of room to play! Atmosphere very relaxed and peaceful. Added bonus for the fishermen in our group was the fishing lake, 2 mins walk, cost £5 for a days fishing. Good chance of catching something! Overall a very relaxing and fun weekend.

We booked here on the reviews of everyone else. The site is fairly level. As others have said there are 2 fields one for rallied and then the main field that has the electric hook ups.
The owner is very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. We arrived late due to car trouble but a quick phonecall in advance and we were told what pitch he had booked us on to, Great! When we arrived on the Thursday it seemed quiet and pleasant.
The facilities are fantastic and spotless. As the Weekend drew closer the site filled up and by saturday it was chocker, as though he was trying to cram as many people on to the site as he could to make the most of the good weather and people wanting to stay, a little over crowded I would say on the saturday night.
The only other problem we found was the noise from the road behind where we were pitched was used throughout the night by the local youths as a race track as they were racing up and down the road with their loud exhausts and stereo all of the nights were were there, however this is not the fault of the owner.
Over all a great site, and I would probably go back as it was good value for money despite the over crowding and the road noise.
