Stayed here for the weekend after booking at the last minute. Really well kept site with very clean and new toilet/shower block with modern light saving devices (so you occasionally have to wave your arms around).

Laundry and washing up facilities also on site which were always spotless. The layout of the field means you are never far from water / loos / electricity.

Great walks directly from the site (and fishing if you are into that sort of thing). Local shop within 5 mins walk. Massive supermarket and range of shops within 5 minute drive.

Owner was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Very relaxed atmosphere.

This is a real gem and I'll be going back for a proper holiday (I was there for work this time so didn't get as much time as I would have liked to explore).

A fantastic and peaceful site, 10 out of 10.

If you enjoy a relaxing and peaceful break then this is the place to go. A smallish site with a few hard standings, (mainly grass pitches) electric hook ups plus an additional field for those who can live without electricity. We stayed here for 8 nights this year and had a hard standing pitch.

There is a fantastically clean toilet and shower unit with 3 toilets, 2x showers and hand basins in the gents (I cannot comment on the ladies but would imagine they are similar).

There's a lake on site with good size Carp for those that enjoy a spot of fishing.

The closet pub (the Swan) is two miles away and offers good food. Theres a convenience store walking distance from the campsite on a local housing estate.

We brought our bikes with us this year and cycled on some lovely quiet country roads to explore the area.

There is a fish and chip van that visits the site every Tuesday and Friday at 6. 30pm.

This is our second visit to this site and I'm sure we will make a 3rd visit in 2013.

 An absolutely delightful campsite.

We only stayed for one night instead of two due to torrential rain on our second day, sadly, but managed to have a short walk to the lake, which was beautiful and there were plenty of people enjoying the fishing.

Spotlessly clean toilets with plenty of toilet roll! Spacious showers with hooks and hygienic chair to put things and mop/bucket to tidy up after. Big mirrors with plugs nearby!

Quiet, friendly site with mainly families and well behaved dogs! Will definitely return next summer!

Nice site; smaller area at the top with a few hard standings and electrical hook up. We stayed in the lower field which is a large open space. Plenty of room in the middle for kids to play. The details say 30 pitches, I would say there were more than that the night we stayed.

The facilities are the cleanest and nicest I've ever seen. There are two large shower rooms in both the male and female toilets, which was great because I could shower both my children and myself. My only criticism would be that there could be a few more showers for individuals as there was a large queue for most of the morning.

There is also; a freezer for packs and a pay as you go washer and dryer, and two outdoor covered sink areas for washing up.

There is some fishing at the bottom of the field, which I didn't try but did have a walk around. Everyone on the pond was friendly and let my kids have a look at what they had caught.

Would go again, £15 per night.

Just a one night stop over on our way to the West but could have stayed longer!

Campsite facilities really clean and smart, having only recently been added and seemed to be more than sufficient for the size of the site.

The owner / farmer couldn't have been more helpful.

Plenty of room for children to play away from campers and a fishing lake at the farm too with angling permits purchased from the farmer for fishers.

The local pub, the Swan Inn was also excellent although a short drive away.

Great value for money as well!

 Fantastic little site.

The tents are in one field with serviced pitches at the top end next to the caravan/motorhome field. There's plenty of space, allowing privacy and space to play and a wooded area at the bottom that the children loved exploring.

The site was spotlessly clean, the wash-block lovely with clean toilets, great, large showers, a freezer with 24 hour access, pay-for washing machine/dryer, and the bins and full recycling facilities were emptied regularly.

Off-site you are minutes drive from a massive retail park and Tescos, a Macdonalds and a lovely pub. There's a park and a shop a few minutes walk away in the village and public footpaths through forest.

Thumbs up all round!

We picked this site as a central point for a family get together.

We were placed in the 'rally field', but the couple of units that required electric hook up were able to reach electrics in the main area (NB you'll need a 15m+ cable).

As there are no defined pitches in the rally field we were allowed to position ourselves in a (well spaced) circle to create a cnetral area for eating etc, which was fantastic.

Masses of room for the children (and adults who should have known better!) to run around, play football /cricket etc

The site facilities were spotless, with hot water always available.

The site is fantastically convenient for Newbury and the surrounding area.

There is a mobile chippie that visits the site at around 1830 on a Friday night, which is very convenient, however mine and my wife's fish wasn't that great.

All in all a great site with a really friendly owner.

If we are needing to camp in this area again we wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed here to visit Highclere castle, what a lovely site, peaceful. Friendly man who looks after the site. The showers and toilets must be the cleanest I've ever seen, the showers are very roomy with plenty of room to get dressed. Ideal for fishing too, would definitely return. Also Highclere castle was lovely day out and real value for money. There's a fish and chip van comes on Tuesday and Fridays but only stayed 2 nights as we were going on to west bay. The site wasn't expensive at 14pound a night, there is a shop out of the site a little down the hill on your left on a new estate although it wasn't well stocked it had the essentials.

This was a lovely camp site. We chose it as a central point to meet friends between South Wales and Hertfordshire.

As a group of 6 adults and 4 children we had plenty of space to spend the weekend relaxing and playing ball games.

Plenty of open space and safe for the kids to run around.

Excellent clean toilet / shower facilities and a friendly owner.

Big Tesco nearby for supplies so there was no need to take lots of food and drink.

A lovely basic site with open space and quiet surroundings. We all agreed we would use this site again.

Stayed for 2 nights mainly to test out our new tent and gadgets and was pleasantly surprised. The site is well kept and we had a pitch with plenty of room backing onto the lane (slightly noisy).

Toilets & showers spotless as were the washing up facilities and washing machine/dryer and freezer available.

We were in a small area separate from a caravan rally in the adjoining field so we had loads of room. There is a retail park nearby with Boots/next/sports direct etc and Tesco for stocking up.

Two good pubs couple of miles away - The Star Inn and The Swan (great gardens & food) and although we didn't have a chance to try it, Nelsons diner which is a 1950's American style cafe with burgers, pancakes, ice cream etc. We both treated ourselves to a facial at 'The Retreat' Spa within Nuffield Health Club inside of Newbury Racecourse (it was our anniversary) which is well recommended.

Overall, a gem of a campsite, exceptionally clean, good location (walks/watership down country nearby) and excellent facilities. Will be going again.
