One weeks stay at the beginning of August in the camping field, 2 adults and 5 children (age range 2 - 16).
Was very glad we were in this field (as previous reviews state main field quite cramped together). Nice pitch with slight slope (nothing major) big enough for our 8 berth tent and with plenty of space to still sit outside.
The showers and toilets in this field were basic but there was always hot water and they were cleaned twice a day. The showers and toilets in the main field were more modern.
The play area was always busy often with unsupervised children running amok! Site was normally quiet by 11pm.
The site staff were always polite and helpful.
Pools were both freezing even the heated one was very cold. Plenty of sunloungers to sit and watch the children on was delighted that the pool entrance was coded and made it difficult for the little ones to try and escape.
Shop was very expensive on certain things. Food on site was reasonably priced.
Laundry room was a bonus. Used the dryers once or twice (typical English Summer)
Beach on site is small and mainly used for kayaking from. Harbour is fantastic and very original, plenty of places to sit and watch the sunset.
Overall we had a fab time and would definitely go back.

Just had four nights at Watermouth Cove during the week before the late summer bank holiday.
Our pitch was on the summer camping field rather than the 'main' camping field. This meant pluses and minuses. Pluses were that it was quieter with less site 'traffic'. The down sides were that the toilets/showers were more basic than their counterparts on the main field and the only dish washing was down on the main field. The pitch was slightly sloping, but only very gently, nothing that kept us awake at night!
We travelled with an almost 4 and a just one year old. We didn't end up using the beach as it was a bit unsuitable for our very little ones. The older kids on site enjoyed it though. Same with the pools, the temperature was too cold for our little ones but the older kids were having a great time. The play area was suitable for our eldest and she had fun, but the older kids took over by the afternoon and play got a bit too rough. The older kids used it until after 10 most nights. As there wasn't much for our little ones, I've only given the site a 7/10 for child friendliness.
The newly done cafe bar was really nice, it was quite reasonably priced, with some meals offering better value than others. The ice creams and milkshakes were big hits with us!
Overall we found the site great value for money considering the facilities and time of year. We'll definitely be looking to come back, perhaps not next year, but definitely when our children are a bit older.

Just returned from a week long stay, loved it. From moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome probably the most friendly staff we have ever come across, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Fantastic meals in the bar/cafe we ate a few times in there both breakfast and in the evening. Very small shop but does have all the basics, Tesco about 3 miles away for 'big shop'. A lot of the people we spoke to have been regular visitors to the site which says it all really. Nice pool area as well will defo visit again our daughters aged 13 & 7 loved it

An expensive site for the services provided. For £440 I would have expected an exemplary site and services, in particular, spaciousness and views. A big disappointment. More space between accommodation areas and an improvement on shower facilities (not just a portacabin(s) with limited shelving and areas to hang clothes).
I think the campsite needs to specialise in sea activities and with its own launch area and this should be reflected in the price for its exclusivity. I have been extremely disappointed and I would suggest that the owners camp on their site and visit others to enhance their visitors comfort.
However, North Devon is a beautiful place to visit.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to the owner of the site who could not have been helpful on my arrival to the site. I noticed my electrical cable from my folding camper to the tow bar had been rubbing on ground and burnt out all the wiring, when I mentioned it to him he just told me to leave it with him and to enjoy the holiday. By the Tuesday he got it renewed for me by one of his staff at no cost to myself, nothing was too much trouble and all staff was very friendly. The site itself was situated in a superb place with its own cove and beautiful scenery and very dog friendly. It had two good size swimming pools and play area and loads of different water sports. The toilets were always very clean and showers at good temperature. All surrounding area of north Devon was very scenic. The kids ( and dog ) loved the beach at Woolacombe. Apart from the fact of the help I had we will be returning again

Visited this sight with a family with 3 kids in tow. What a great site!
The warm reception we received was great, a lad escorted us to our All weather pitch and left saying if we had anything to ask not to hesitate and shout.
This is the cleanest campsite I have visited, the showers are free and always hot and the toilets plentiful and always very very clean.
We went at a busy week and never waited for either.
At One end of the site is a harbour that is a great place to walk the dog and the other end is a little beach/cove and on the edge is the ocean! what more could you ask for.
The bar and cafe looked ok but we didn't use them.
The staff work tireless and are always polite and helpful.
There is a great little park for the kids but this is still in use at 10. 00 most nights. Parents must have some fore thought and bring them in before, but all the same the site was quiet by 11 o'clock.
This is a great site and anyone who finds the energy to knock it should give there head a shake or find a five star hotel.
Thanks Watermouth we had a great stay!

Basically a lovely place, although the sign on the toilets giving details of inappropriate use of showers and the forthcoming eviction of the culprits (when found via CCTV!) raised warnings about the quality of some of the clientèle!
We loved the easy access to the harbour and watching the tide coming in and out, and also the path up to the small headland.
The pool was also a good addition to a holiday (although cold!)
We didn't love the fact that when asking for service in the bar, we often felt that we were just a little bit too much trouble for the (teenage) staff who perhaps had better things to do than wipe dirty tables! That said, the guy who showed us our pitch was helpful and friendly.
Great location, lovely harbour and site - just maybe a bit of work needed on on-site customer relations!

L had to leave a review for this holiday park, on arrival we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and was shown to our pitch on the tier above overlooking the main site, we also shown were the shower/toilet block and elsan point was.
After setting up we walked round the site and checking out the small shop and bar area, games room with pool table, table tennis, etc. Outside the bar/café sitting area overlooking beach/bay.
1. Shower/toilet block clean regularly spotless.
2. Some pitches slight slope nothing to worry about.
3. Small shop for essential items.
4. Bar/Café meals are reasonably priced and very good. Reception is in the bar
5. Kayaks for hire which we did not use.
5. Outdoor pools 2 of them used a few times cold at first with hot weather soon cooled off. Sun loungers around pool.
6. Dog friendly park plenty of walks Watermouth harbour great to let dogs in water.
7. Plenty of places to visit in the area Coombe Martin, Ilfracoombe, Watermouth Castle just 300 yards up the road. Etc.
8. Sea Fishing of the rocks OK had sea bass, Pollack, and dogfish, had no mackerel, bait can be bought from shop.
9. A word of warning to families with youngsters be careful of the headland walks the are some steep cliffs and getting down to the rocks can be difficult and dangerous.
10. The location is brilliant especially watching sunset from the harbour or from top of cliffs, took loads of photos.
11. Plenty of dog friendly pubs in the area i. E. Try Hele Billys great food and drink.
12. To top of our holiday was watching Porpoises swimming and jumping in the bay in the evening while having a drink with friends we made at Watermouth Cove Park.
After nearly 30 years of camping and caravanning and staying at dozens of holiday sites l personally put Watermouth Cove Holiday Park in my top 3 best sites we have stayed at, and will be booking again.

What a fantastic site this is. Its about 3 miles from Ilfracombe in a lovely little cove. The views are spectacular especially catching the sunset over the harbour. Facilities on the site are brilliant. Toilets and showers are always clean and we never had to wait. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. Very dog friendly including the beach. You can also take them into the restaurant. Would definitely return.

Loved it had a great weekend meeting up with friends and family.
We have driven past the site on numerous occasions as my father-in-law lives in Combe Martin for that reason we haven't camped in the area for almost 17yrs.
This time we were meeting up with friends who were travelling up from Cornwall and us down from Northants, they chose the site what a brilliant choice, another campsite further up the road took 24+hrs to respond to each email/voice message.
We were there May Bank holiday and didn't find it too busy, we we able to pitch next to each other and found the pitches yo be quite large.
Our pitch was opposite the toilet/shower block these seemed to be fairly new and more than adequate. Never actually saw anyone cleaning or noticed them closed for cleaning but they were clean and tidy.
There is a washing up area to the left of the toilet block which unfortunately wasn't always clean and tidy but this I believe should be the responsibility of other campers. In this area and near the reception there were vending machines one for snacks and the other for hot drinks.
Friends ate breakfast in the restaurant each morning and were able to take the dogs with them. The shop is a small room to the side we used only once for headache tablets, it is fairly well stocked with basics that you may need when camping.
We had some lovely walks with the kids and dogs when there, you can walk along Watermouth Harbour along to the folly great at sunset. The site has its on small private beach where you can launch boats and hire kayaks.
Along the top walking through the camping field which isn't level but the views are fantastic they have a couple of view points looking over towards Combe Martin here they have benches and some chimneas, we used one on our last night toasting marshmallows and watching fireworks being set off in Wales. Remember to take something with you to dowse the fire we just put some dirt into it before we left. They are great, old calor gas bottles recycled.
Check out is at 10am which seemed fairly early, but the night before we asked if we could stay a little later and offered to pay. We were told we could as they weren't very busy and didn't require anything extra.
All in all we had a lovely weekend the staff where polite and friendly and we are returning there next month.
