Catgill farm is all my children have talked about since we left the site.

We arrived on 17th August, it had been very wet the week before and site was muddy, but what's camping without a little mud. There was a strong wind across the site so putting the tent was a struggle, we asked for help from the team at the site and they were more than willing to help, without them I would not have get the tent up. Big thanks for that.

Otherwise the stay was good the toilets were clean for a while each day until the mud and use meant it needed to be cleaned again showers are the same - again the team seemed to be on top of this as much as they could.

All in the site is beautiful and is relaxed, only real issue is majority of the site is not flat so be ready for a slope which you feel most when you wake up in the morning.

For the kids there is a stream in the middle of the site and the rest is just field for tent and area for tents with electrical hookup, otherwise there isn't anything for kids to do other than play in the field.

There is a petting farm a stones throw from the site which for family of 4 is about £25 for a visit - I would ask that the owners of the site work with the farm to see if they could have a deal with them for use of the playground or cheaper access.

I would stay again but would try to not stay when its been raining.

Beautiful situation with a family friendly feel.

Fabulous walking country although could do with a bar as the local-ish hostelry is an extortionate country club and not the most convenient for a casual drink!

Site was very boggy and our van nearly got stuck which wasn’t met with any sympathy by the camp staff which was a tad annoying and the comment that it would be £20 for a tow would, had it been required, caused an uproar. In the end we managed to manoeuvre ourselves in and out of the pitch.

We loved our stay here, toilets and showers were clean and the morning coffee and pastries were great too! Beautiful star gazing and views.

It was very busy though! We actually booked 4 pitches but didn't need all 4 but even with 2 normal sized tents, 1 pup tent and a gazebo it was hard to find space for us all and ended up on a hill.

We did get asked to keep the noise down after 10. 30 (we didn't realise the time sorry!) But the chap who asked us to be quiet was quite rude about it (we apologised, told him we didn't realise it was after 10. 30 and he kept on telling us that we were loud :/ it did put a bit of a dampener on things )

Wouldn't recommend the local pub unless you're into high prices and posh nosh but we did find a local Indian a short drive away.

After reading reviews thought we had made a mistake but definitely not. Toilet shower block was clean with plenty of hot water and curfew on noise was really good, we had no disturbances.

Also liked no car policy not far to walk to tents and made it safer for children to play.

Would certainly recommend this site

Lovely area to explore and not too far to town for shopping

Lovely campsite, stunning views & great facilities. Showers, toilets & pot wash room was to a high standard.

Was helpful during the hot spell that there was also a fridge & freezer available to store all our food.

Great campsite for families, plenty of room for the children to play, farm animals for them to see & the noise curfew left you reassured, you would get a good nights sleep.

Looking forward to visit again in the future.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay for young families.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly, the site itself was well organised and my children loved it!

Definitely recommended and will be staying again.

Stayed here with 2 other couples over a full weekend and have to say we had a great time. Easily plenty of space.

We were left to ourselves all weekend even with the little firepit raging.

All the staff were very welcoming and easy to approach. Amenities were kept clean and tidy at all times, considering the number of people pitched up I was pretty impressed.

All in all a top visit. Would go again.

Nearby Bolton Abbey is an absolutely fantastic place to visit.

This was our second visit to Catgill. And the first time using the electric hookup.

A lovely site, but I think some of the pitches were a little close together. But the advantage is that the pitches where flatter than the non electric ones.

Will probably return as its in an ideal location for visiting the Dales and parts of West Yorkshire.

Good location with stunning views. Very popular with families therefore lots of young children playing. We didn't see anyone cleaning the bathrooms during our stay and I found the ladies shower damp and dirty, the sinks had hairs in them and weren't very clean. The sewers gave off a bad smell.

At 5:30 a. M. On Saturday we were woken up to a group of people singing and playing a guitar, despite the noise curfew in place this group ignored the obvious rules.

Coffee shop is a great idea. I would stay again but I would try to arrive on-site early and get a flat pitch.
