I loved catgill:
It’s in a fantastic location with half decent facilities.
It’s quite family orientated so if you want a really peaceful campsite this probably isn’t the one, having said that, despite the loads of kids, I wasn’t woken up by any of them.
I had a cold shower the first morning at about 11am but think I was just unlucky- should have got there earlier!
It is busy and there is often a loo queue but never crazy long, and I did go in the school holidays on a weekend so the busiest time.
The thing that really makes this place is the coffee hut- amazing coffee freshly brewed with a warm croissant is just what you want as you sit in your tent hiding from the Yorkshire rain!
Great price for what you get, I’d definitely stay again

Situated within walking distance to Bolton Abbey, a stunning part of the southern Dales.
We loved our stay at the campsite. Staff/owners were friendly and helpful and facilities superb. Even on the busy Friday night queues for toilets/showers/washing up we’re minimal. It is a very friendly and family oriented campsite and despite some larger family groups camping together, I was relieved that staff were sure that the campsite remained calm.

Visited Catgill campsite near Skipton for two nights. The camp site is excellent and has a real calmness about it. The facilities are excellent and the site is very well equipped and organised. Excellent for young families and a quick drive to Skipton. Definitely recommended - well above standard.

Absolutely fantastic site!
It’s set in the beautiful countryside next to Hesketh Farm which is fab for kids. The site has 2 big fridges and a freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave and numerous plus sockets to charge phones etc.
There’s plenty of showers and toilets. All the site is kept clean and the owners are lovely.
Skipton is a short drive away with plenty of things to do and on the practical side there’s a Tesco & B&M.
We visited Billy Bobs Ice Cream Parlour, the food is fab and so is the play area.
We’ll definitely be back again :)

This was my first time camping with my 2 young boys, what a fantastic set up it is here. The owners were so relaxed but always there to help. The boys loved toasting marshmallows on the firepit. The location was perfect for the grounds of bolton abbey, & easy to get the steam train/vintage bus to skipton. We will definitely be back!

Stayed over the bank holiday weekend and haven't been to this site before.
Negatives - We struggled to find a flat pitch so ended up on an incline next to a large group which was a mistake unfortunately! The majority of people were grouped together with 3+ tents. Sadly for us the group next door were noisy and played music way past 10. 30pm. Even after a worker from the site did the rounds asking people to be quiet.
Positives - modern facilities, indoor pot wash, communal fridges/microwave. Really good coffee sold on a morning (£2. 50) and a hot food van in the evening (didn't use it but good to have the option). Small shop on site selling necessities.
Its clearly a good site for families/groups but for us it was too busy and noisy and based on this stay we wont be in a rush to return.

We stayed a week in the campsite which is located on the hills near the Bolton Abbey. We have enjoyed our stay on the campsite. We found the showers a little bit dirty, compared to the rest of the facilities which were kept clean nicely. Due to the fact the campsite is on a hill, it might be difficult to find a 'perfect' spot for the tent.
Each morning we could buy fresh backed croissants, or chocolate croissants and/or coffee or thee for reasonable price.
If you are looking for a decent campsite in a beautiful environment this is a good choice.

This was our first time camping with my twin 8 year olds. We managed to get pitched on the top section near the cows, not realising until later that there was a ‘bottom bit’ where the stream was! We were asked to move our vehicle after pitching but there were no markers and as such we were surrounded by other tents by the time I had pitched ours, no organisation at all. I was unable to move my car and subsequently missed our reservation at the nearby Billy Bobs Ice Cream Parlour which my 2 were looking forward to.
For the next few hours we listened to bad language from the tents close by, but that only lasted until about 2am. We finally managed some sleep before our neighbours decided that Radio 4 was so great at 6am, he thought we could all listen to it.
All was not in vein readers, we did manage to use the facilities which were clean, I have to say, before everyone one else woke up and piled in. We cooked some breakfast, packed up and went home, (via BillyBobs!) 2 days early. Not enjoyable at all. I’ll take the boys camping again but this wasn’t what I expected from fellow campers. The rules of the site were poorly policed and when I left 2 days early, I wasn’t asked why.
My only recommendation is pitch early and pitch close to the showers/ water/ coffee shop and car park. The location is superb but the facilities are stretched when busy, and the size of the site could use some more localised water stands.

This was our first time camping trip with our 2 children, age 2 and 5. They were so excited about going and the weekend didn’t disappoint. We had driven round the area a few weeks prior on a day out and we felt the area offered a lot, in terms of things to do/see.
This was the school summer holidays do we knew it was going to be busy. The staff were helpful and the site was easy to get around. Although the facilities were pretty good with fridges, freezers etc they weren’t big enough for the amount of people on site in peak summer. The same goes with the shower/toilets. There are only 4 of each in the men’s block and not adequate for the size of the site. I was always up at 7 so it was quiet then, but later on it was pretty chaotic.
The coffee shed was great and again the staff were great. I just think maybe the fact the site has become so popular the facilities haven’t quite grown with it.
I think with an increase in the facilities then it would be a perfect review. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant camp site, for someone who doesn't like camping I'm going back next year and taking friends. The kids loved it.
The only thing would be a couple more fridges and another freezer as I couldn't put anything in for nearly 2 days.
