This was the third time we have been to this site. I can not add anything to what has been already stated in previous reviews about this terrific site, apart from The George in Charmouth does a fantastic Sunday carvery.
Definitely a site to go to time and time again especially with their over 60 discount.

Overall an excellent site and once you get passed the rows of statics the touring area is lovely. The pitches are level and a good size. Everywhere is very clean and there is always plenty of hot water/loo rolls/soap etc. The women's showers are superb(plenty of hot water and no buttons to keep pressing!) and two of the three cubicles have plenty of room to put your clothes etc, there are also two personal washing cubicles. The washing up room is great with constant hot water and there are dish drainers provided.
Staff very helpful and friendly, shop well stocked. Mobile chip van is there twice a week and a pizza van once a week.
Very very close to beach/river and local amenities, there is a Nisa supermarket, 2 pubs(each serves food)fish&chip shop(eat in and takeaway), post office, restaurant, camping/leisure shop, ice cream parlour, a big market each Monday and a couple of other gifty/crafty shops.
Excellent value for money and somewhere I would definitely return to despite a couple of gripes. You have to vacate your pitch by 10am and seeing as there is a no noise policy from 10. 30pm-8am you basically have two hours to unpitch/pack etc which was a real struggle despite silent packing from 6am!Biggest problem for us was ice blocks to keep our cool box cold which in our case is 6 per day(3 every 12 hours) there are no facilities to freeze your own and although you can hire them from the shop(£1 for each one) you have to pay an extra 30p per block each time you have them refrozen but the biggest problem was the shop shuts at 5pm so for the first couple of days we were having to return from days out at 5pm just to get ice blocks until we discovered that you could buy a big bag of ice from Nisa so got round it by buying a bag from there each evening! Most sites provide a freezer to freeze your own blocks and there would be room for one in the laundry room.

Returned to seadown after a great holiday here last year Still a very friendly site, nice to see so many friends we made last year. The site still retains high standards of cleanliness and friendly helpful staff. The beach and village are in easy walking distance from site. Busstop is at the end of the road, you can get a bus to Weymouth which goes along the Jurassic coast. Then onto poole, or the other way to Exmouth and Exeter.

This site has many reviews so I can only update them. The staff are still very helpful and pleasant. The shop is still well stocked. I cannot fault the facilities except perhaps that they are a little small for the size of the site. This site has the quality and green feel of an inland site (that is it does not have the somewhat grubby feel that you get at many 'beach' sites). Whilst there are many static vans you only have to drive past a few of them to get to the touring field. An easy walk to the town and two quite good pubs for meals.
The only drawback at present (and this is not the fault of the site and only temporary) is the diversions on the coastal path in both directions. Both site and pubs are modestly priced and very good value.

A clean and tidy site with the advantage of lots of open space for walks and games, and with direct access to the beach and coast path.
The touring site pitches are closer together than some sites and the site is shared with numerous static caravans.
The facilities are modern and impecably clean. There is a site shop for essentials and newspapers and the village, with 2 pubs, is only a 5 minute walk.
Overall, an excellent place to stay for the beach and general convenience.

Just returned from 2 great weeks at Seadown, it's now becomng a 2 nd home. Great to see all, the same very friendly staff.
Charmouth is a great little place, you could spend your 2 weeks here and not need to go anywhere else for food, shopping, etc. There is a great market on a Monday.
The site is as always immaculate, the facilities kept very clean, the site always tidy. Fish and chip van twice a week and now a wood fired pizza service twice a week, great food. As usual the site goes nice and quiet around 10 pm.
Unfortunately we now have to wait just under a year until our next visit, nice to see familiar faces from years past also.
Well worth the 600 mile round trip, there is lots to do around Charmouth, with Lyme Regis next door? The site shop, is always well stocked.
See you next year.

Just had a fantastic two weeks at seadown, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers are excellent constant hot water in showers and you don't have to keep pressing a button, pitches are a good size and very well maintained. Close to the village which has two pubs a very good chipshop and various other shops, only a short walk to the beach and village. The cleanest site we have stayed on in a long time, will be back

This is a lovely site as said in other reviews. The location is perfect being so close to the beach and the village. Shops and pubs are very handy and within walking distance. The facilities are excellent and the pitches very spacious. We were lucky enough to have wonderful sunny weather which makes caravanning so enjoyable and we went to beaches at Charmouth, Weymouth, West Bay and Lyme Regis. The access to the site is very easy and we would certainly come here again.

This is a very nice, peaceful site. Staff extremely pleasant, both on booking and on arrival. Excellent range of leaflets in Reception for all near and far attractions. I would have preferred a grass pitch, as I had no rock pegs/hammer; my fault, as not having visited before I should have asked. But it was so hot, we just wanted to get settled and the pitch was a good size and secluded twixt two hedges and almost next to the nearest water point.
Very handy for the beach - it was so un-commercial that it felt like having ones own private beach. Even yesterday, when we expected it to be packed, it was fine with loads of room for everyone. And NO GULLS! We reckon they were all in Lyme Regis.
I really have only one gripe. While I have not been an active caravanner over the years, only going away about four times per year, I have never been to any other site with the stipulation that the pith must be vacated by as early as 10. 00 am. All the ones we have been to are by 12 midday earliest, with the facility of a small extension if circumstances arise. I enquired before driving to the pitch how tight this deadline was and was told very, this time of year, but we could stretch it to 10. 30. In the event, we took the awning down the night before and even getting up at 7. 30, by the time we had sorted everything out after brekkie we still didn't get away until 09. 50. I am surprised that there has been no mention of this in other reviews, and reckon that many people would be happy to return if the departure time was more reasonable. I cannot see what the need is for such an early departure given that most campers/caravanners don't tend to arrive before mid-afternoon.
Despite that mini-moan, and that being the only reason for one less 10 out of 10, I will monitor the website and if in the future the site owners relent and make the departure around midday, I will be back no bother.
Again, a lovely site.

We have just returned after spending Easter at Seadown and very nice it was too.
The site is very neat and tidy. I noticed some comments about pitches being cramped but this was not our experience, the pitch was very generous with room for our van and awning and we could have got another vehicle in and still not been near our neighbours!
The site is on the edge of Charmouth so is very quiet and you can just hear the A35 if the wind is in the wrong direction although this is drowned out by the birdsong.
There is a shop which is fine for emergency shopping, the toilets and showers are spotless. There are only three showers so you will have to queue at peak times.
The fish and chip van that stops on a Friday and Sunday is brilliant - all freshly cooked on site, and you can even approve of your bit of fish before it's cooked!
We also had a meal at The Royal Oak in Charmouth which I can highly recommend. The menu is better than the usual 'safe' pub options, the food is well cooked and fresh, served with a smile, and very reasonable (two starters, two main meals. One dessert and a bottle of wine for less than £45). Book if you want to be sure of a table, it's very busy.
There is a very short walk to the beach and you can hire hammers at the fossil centre. The beach isn't good for swimming and to be honest with everyone banging away at the rocks it's not that peaceful either! Just jolly good fun.
The bus stop to Lyme Regis is not far away and buses run hourly - I found Lyme Regis to be full of nothing but tourist shops selling the same thing but still managed to spend some money.
In all I have no hesitation to recommend this site providing you aren't looking for a club house and loads of entertainment.
