This site has spacy level pitches and the touring section is separate from the Static caravans. The facilities are first class and the toilets and showers were spotless. There is a really good reception shop which stocks a range of products and there are lots of tourist leaflets and other useful information such as tide times etc.
It is a 5 minute stroll across a grassy field to the beach at Charmouth where there is a small cafe and a visitor centre.
Charmouth itself has a few pubs and eateries but you're better getting the bus into Lyme Regis which is about 4 miles away.
A great site!

We have been using this site for at least 12 years for our church holiday. We keep coming back because of the excellent service by the staff.
We are a group and they make every effort to help us. We also like the range of accommodation options which makes it affordable for most people.
There are no roads to cross with small children to get to the beach and the estuary is great fun for the little ones.
Just walking to the beach is an activity in itself. We love it and we always book for the next year as we leave.

Just came back from 12 days at this campsite. What can I say, WOW! Pitches were a tad snug but apart from that, toilet block clean tons of hot water. Park itself kept very clean and tidy.
The play area/ field was great, the boys had a fabulous time, met many friends. So it does not have swings etc. Kids need to entertain themselves and ours certainly did that. Curfew for the kids was 10pm so expect excited shouts and screams till then, then silence.
Charmouth Beach I must say, 3 mins walk away was not the best but fires in the evening, fossil hunting you don't need to leave the site if all the adults want to do is relax which I certainly did.
The walking from the campsite along the coast path is wonderful. A walk to Golden Cap a must, breath taking. Good crabbing in West Bay, nice beach. Lyme is a nice place too.
Sandy beach but park and ride a must. We would certainly go back. Reception staff polite, it was all easy.

This was our 4th year at this site why go anywhere else for our summer hols when this is so perfect. We love this site hence why we return again and again. Up until last year we were tenters but have invested in an old but lovely touring caravan this year.
There is a small well stocked shop on site and it is a short five min walk into Charmouth where there is a Nisa and various other small shops. There is an outdoor market down road every Monday well worth a visit, and a fantastic camping shop just down the road that seem to stock anything and everything.
The beach is only a five min walk from site ideal in the summer, (when we have any summer) no parking fees to pay great!. The toilet block has always been immaculate whenever we have been and even in August I never had to queue for the showers.
You do need a key to get into toilet block which I think is a great idea as it means only people on touring site can use them.
The staff have always been very pleasant with us and although you can't choose your pitch we normally give them several numbers of pitches preferred and they have always given us one of the ones we wanted.
A fish and chip van visits site on a Sunday and a Friday best fish and chips we have had and very reasonably priced.
Lovely Chinese take away in nearby Axminster too. We will be back there again next year maybe even October this year great site.

A really nice site, very nicely separated from the statics to the tourers/tents. Had pitch 54 and no complaints, this was a good size.
Nice well stocked shop and the staff were all very friendly. Has to be one of the cleanest toilet facility blocks yet, one large block, though there was a queue for the showers on a morning, this really was not a problem, just a matter of either going a little earlier or later.
We had EHU pitch and had no problems with this, not sure if it was 10 A or 16 A.
Very large sized play area and dog walk which leads straight to the beach.
Charmouth beach is a mix of shingle, pebble and sand. Though not much to do there is a great little bakery and the pub does great basic food.
Would definitely consider returning to this site, well worth the 300 mile drive,
Would have given this site 10/10 for all sections but the children said it just lacked a play park, swings, slides, climbing frame for mixed ages, etc.

Nice site albeit at the end of a residential street, not a problem just a bit weird. Pitches are largely flat, at least to the eye, however the pitch we were on had 2 fairly large pot holes which meant positioning the tent was a bit tricky, especially given the spacing between pitches.
Positives very clean shower block, shower operated by tap rather than push button, plenty of hot water albeit on the gentle side in terms of pressure.
With easy access to beach, would be great for families especially if the weather was nice :)
Pitches do feel a bit 'cramped' and are not very deep, resulting in our Montana 6 with front extension, erected close to the hedge and nearly to the access road.
Overall, still a nice site, would visit again. Check out the The Anchor Pub in Seatown - great views and food.

This was the best site we have stayed in. Our pitch was brilliant. We requested a pitch close to the toilets as we have a young daughter and they sited us accordingly.
The toilet block was adequate with 3 shower cubicles and 2 locked sink areas. The toilets were cleaned regularly and were spotless. We never had wait for long for a shower but it could of benefited from more showers. They were warm and a good pressure.
There was an indoor dish washing area, vegetable prep sinks and a launderette.
The staff were lovely and friendly and the shop was stocked with everything you may need.
There is a lovely walk along the river to the beach. It only takes a few minutes to get to the beach with amazing views.
We will definitely return to this site - soon I hope!

We normally go to Newlands just round the corner, but they have got expensive so we thought we would try here. £20 per night compared to Newlands at £35 per night (Both with hook up)
This is how a campsite should be run,
Good points,
Clean, tidy, Fairly level, a short walk through the campsite and you are on Charmouth beach, Toilets are a bit dated compared to some, but very clean and looked after. Grass was cut and kept tidy, nice area for the Kids to play. Well stocked shop
Bad points,
No club house (we walked the 800 yards to one of the other 2 sites with club houses and used them)
You need a key for the toilets (£5 refundable) Can be a pain if you are desperate, but understandable due to being near the beach.
They were kind enough to let me leave my trailer parked up on site on the last day, we have been asked to pay at some sites. Would deff use again

OK, we have stayed in the past and things have been 'fine' but having had a very bad experience last time we have learnt our lesson.
Firstly the office/reception staff seemed have no clue about pitch sizes or states and just allocated as they please.
To cut a very long story short, we were put on a very soft, grass, sloping pitch that was too small for our 25ft motorhome. We had to be towed off by a very un-willing site owner and ended up damaging our motorhome and asked us to leave his site (the cheek!) after telling us that's what we had insurance for!
I know it's each to their own and thankfully things like this don't happen on a daily basis but please be warned.

Based on a recommendation from some people we met on another site we thought we would give this a try. We were impressed! Facilities were good and clean - 3 loos, 3 showers for each. Enclosed washing up facilities. We thought the pitches reasonably sized (for our motorhome & awning). Charmouth is 5 minutes away so long as you don't walk too fast and has a small Nisa and a great bakery for lovely bread as well as a few other shops. The big plus is that it really is only 5 minutes max across the dog walking field to the beach/sea. Great site and we will go back.
