Great position right by the beach and river. Fantastic open areas for play or dog walking and a very well laid out site with generous sized pitches. Village a short walk away with a pub that serves good food and is dog friendly. Just one criticism to add, we had reason to complain about a large family group who were noisy and inconsiderate we managed to move pitch away from them but the staff did not ask them to kerb their unsociable behaviour. Had there not have been another pitch to move to our holiday would have been totally ruined.

2 adults 2 children in a very wet Seadown in July, Good campsite although drainage could be better, it became very muddy. Very clean toilets, showers etc although only three showers which was not enough at peak times. Big advantage is being able to walk to the sea, only 5 mins. On the whole a good site for familys etc

Have just returned, from Seadown. What a fab site. Absoulutely spotless. The showers / toilets etc. where the cleanest Ive ever seen on a campsite. Right next to the beach, where the children (3 and 7) had a great time fossil hunting. Staff very helpful. There is a lovely pub in the village, The George, with a huge play area in the back, with climbing frames, bikes and gorgous 3 goats that the children can feed, All in all.10/10. Would love to go back.

Just got back from a wet (but very enjoyable) weekend at this campsite. The site itself is immaculate with plenty of space for each pitch. We were a party of three families and were pitched together (sometimes this doesn't happen, even if requested, at other sites. The facilities block was probably the best we've come across so far. Showers and toilets were amazingly clean and we didn't have to wait for showers even though there aren't that many (3 in the ladies). There is also a launderette, washing up sinks, vegetable prep sinks and hairdryers. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around, badminton, tennis, table tennis, skittles, basketball facilities. The dog walk area is great with an abundance of bins to deposit the necessary. The kids had a great time searching for fossils on the beach at the end of the park and us adults just chilled out. We didn't get to the village as we had everything we needed with us so can't comment on the local area. Unfortunately the weather was against us but we managed to stay as our tents stayed up and we all stayed dry. Typical UK bank holiday! Would thoroughly recommend this site and hope to go back again soon.

We love camping in this country but do find it necessary to take a gazebo so that we can still cook, sit outside, etc even when the weather turns bad. We are prepared to pay for this extra facility. Seadown Holiday Park do not accept any form of gazebo so beware if you book without checking, you could be in for a very wet and uncomfortable stay. Come on Seadown, camping has changed and no longer needs to be wet and uncomfortable!

We stayed here at the end of April and would recommend it to anyone, absolutely brilliant site. Right next to the beach, just a short walk there by a river, once there there is a shop, toilets and a couple of cafes. Good dog walks close by which ours really enjoyed, but is a bit stiff now! The village centre is a two minute walk away with shops, two pubs and a chip shop. The larger pub has a large beer garden and does good food, reasonably priced. The chip shop closed at 9pm when we were there and most things were cooked to order, so don't turn up at 8.30 and be surprised if there's a queue! Worth the wait though. Lyme Regis is very close with lots of shops etc. Staff at the site were friendly without being overbearing. A very enjoyable weekend for everyone.

We came here last august, after a seriously miserable weekend at a different site in Bridport. What a contrast! This was well run with pristine well tended showers, a clean and tidy laundry room, proper play space for the children not just a tiny area crammed on as an after thought. Best of all it was peaceful and not populated by people who needed to shout and swear at top volume from morning till night. It was also in a glorious setting, unspoiled and perfect for exploring. This is what camping is all about.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this site in the past. However, having booked and PAID IN ADVANCE for a hardstanding for 3 nights last week-end we arrived and were allocated a muddy grass pitch between 2 outfits, although the rest of the field was empty. After travelling for 100 miles we were not very happy. We did get our money back but this is not the point. We had to look around for another site and found Newlands which we were very happy with.

Spent a dampish week here this summer, but I can't fault the site! We (2 families) were down near the river and the earth bank (presumably a flood defence!), but thus well sheltered. The actual camp site isn't vast, it IS 'tucked away' to the edge of the main site (largely static vans) but this is no bad thing! I didn't get the impression we campers were 'second class citizens' bunged in as an afterthought at all. Our site was reasonably sized and level though those a bit further up towards the amenities block had a bit of a slope. All the campsites had free EHU. The site was clean and well kept, plenty of flat roads for kids to ride bikes, and our 4 (aged 5-8) had a whale of a time running the length of the levee wall and paddling in the stream. The site, though quite full seemed quiet though young teenagers tended to congregate outside the amenities block in the evenings. It's an easy and pleasant walk to Charmouth beach and maybe then an hour's walk to Lyme Regis at low tide along the beach. Get the bus back or use the LR park'n'ride. The shop was well enough stocked (you're only 5 mins walk from the main street of Charmouth) and the staff helpful. Be warned the roads around the coast on a wet day were hell! It took us an hour to get to Bere Regis one day (8 miles?), where the actual supermarket is. Anyway, the amenities block was clean with lots of hot water. All up, I highly recommend this site.

We have just returned from this campsite following a weeks stay. The site is spotless. The showers and toilets are clean and the water is hot - whatever time of day you use them!
We found the washing machines and tumble dryer particularly useful as we did have one very wet day which led to muddy clothes and towels to mop up our ,slightly, wet tent! You can buy tokens for the machines from reception.
The site is a short walk from the beautiful beaches of Charmouth. The beach is safe for kids with lots of paddling and sandcastle making, especially at low tide. You can also go fossil hunting.
On site, the shop stocks most things that you may need. The children's playing field is first rate and both of our children made lots of friends. In the evening there were several games of football or cricket involving both children and adults.I'm not sure who enjoyed it most!
So,we are already booked in for next year and can highly recommend this site for others too.
