Site is very well located as only a short walk and you are right in the heart of this city.

This site is just what you expect from a caravan club site, well set out, very clean facilities and polite wardens,

Will definitely return here again this year if we can find a cancellation as always full up as soon as you are able to start booking it in December.

This is a very popular site and we were lucky enough to get a last minute booking.

It's location is excellent - it's a short walk into York, a brilliant city to spend a few days. Great shopping, nightlife and atmosphere.

Site facilities have been updated recently and they are modern and well maintained.

Excellent site.

Stayed here for one night while travelling to London. Very good site with excellent facilities and only a short walk to town centre. York is a friendly city with lots to do and lots of dog / child friendly pubs and restaurants so this suited us. Will definitely be back due to high standard of site and close proximity to town centre.

Really helpful excellent site staff and the usual very high standards of facilities one associates with CC sites. We stayed two nights for a quick stop over and visit to the Jorvik centre.

Not great for children because there isn't space for them to play safely. It isn't an attractive site but it's in the city centre so you don't stop for the scenery. Otherwise, plenty of space on pitches and very peaceful (apart from Riverdance on the roof - see below).

Great pubs serving excellent real ales within a couple of hundred metres of the rear pedestrian gate, where there is also a fabulous chippie 'The Fisherman's Wife' and really good local shops.

There are a lot of trees on the site which house lots of birds; not only did they make a proper mess but were also darn noisy on the roof at 5am.

Great location for tourist visit to this beautiful city but a little pricey for a concrete and stone site (£60 for two nights)

We have just spent the first night out of three booked at the Rowntree Park CC Site. We managed to book just a couple of days in advance of our arrival. The site is currently about 80%- 90% full.

We have only just returned to using Caravan Club sites after an 8 year break and we must admit that we have been impressed with the standard of the facilities nowadays. This site is maintained at a very high standard.

This site is ideal for those who wish to spend a few days visiting York and the surrounding areas. It is not a site for those who wish to stay on site and relax with children. There are no grass areas, swimming pools etc.

The individual, small, marked out plots are flat and gravelled with hedges between most plots, only a few plots are large enough for awnings. It is an all year site.

As we were told to expect with Caravan Club sites it is run like a military camp and this suits some but will not suit all. If you do not like being told to park your van exactly as ordered then Caravan Club sites are not for you. If you like the cleanest and best kept facilities available you could not do better than this site.

As regards children, do be aware that the fast flowing River Ouse is only 4 metres from the entrance and there are no barriers. In addition the water in the showers and sinks is virtually at boiling temperature (well it seems like that). When adjusting the shower temperature it was very easily to scald yourself - don't let young children use the shower cubicles by themselves.

Flooding can be a serious problem at this site. The high level markers show that the whole site was under two feet of water in November 2012. If flood warnings are in force it is worth ringing the site before you arrive to check there are no restrictions in force.

This is an excellent site, well located for visiting the city of York. It is located on the river bank and is about 15 minutes on foot the the main centre. It's an excellent city with so much to see and do! There are also a number of decent places to eat a minute's walk from the site.

The facilities are very good - there's plenty of them and they're well maintained. Staff were also really helpful and friendly!

Great site!

Spent 2 nights here. Great site for accessing city of York and all within walking distance. Toilets etc first rate. The site is not lawned/grassed but laid out with stones but suspect this is to do with localised flooding they receive as site is on the riverbank. As it is city centre it's obviously not a quiet site but that's the price you pay for convenience to the city centre.

The site is next door to a beautiful park with a lake and tennis courts. However the downside is that if you are on pitches 5 to 11 you are adjacent to the park's car park. In the car park is an ice cream van and he is there from 11am until about 8pm at night. He runs his engine all day and it is very intrusive. It's and old diesel van and you also get the smell of the fumes. So if you do value your peace and quiet avoid these pitches!

Our second stay at this site. Very convenient for York centre - me walking, her on a scooter and dog pulling!

Good dog-friendly food pubs. In pleasant location close to the river - so can and does flood so keep tyres pumped up!(Site offices on stilts 6 feet above ground - say no more!)

Pitches a bit close and not really awning friendly. Avoid the 5 pitches under trees at far RHS of site - sap falls like glue!

Site usually full - but both visits we were advised to wait a short while at entrance as often bookings fail to arrive! So that's good then!

More a site for couple of days York sight-seeing or meeting long lost nephews from York Uni! Oh - forgot - pleasant walks through park along river - quite dog friendly!

Will be back. (understand some improvements in layout happening at the mo'?)

We have stayed at this site many times and is one of the best Caravan Club sites. The wardens are very friendly and always willing to help or give advice. The site is situated at the side of the river and only a 10 minute walk into York. The pitches are separated by hedges so give a bit of privacy. There is a small separate riverside park which we quite like as it is away from the main park and the pitches are bigger.

The showers and toilets are clean with plenty of hot water. There is a laundry with 2 large washing machines and 2 driers.

There is a pub called the Mason Arms just across the bridge on the right hand side. They are very friendly and serve good food and huge portions at very reasonable prices. Also the beer prices are very reasonable.

We travel for 6 months of the year and usually start and finish at this site. It is very difficult to book a pitch as it is very popular. They do get cancellations though so keep trying.

This was our first visit to this site, and first impressions is the site looks like a car park with all the pitches like parking bays with no grass areas.

Some of the pitches are surrounded by hedges which make them quite private. The motorhome service point is in an odd place and is not easy to use. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Toilet block lovely and warm and clean with plenty of showers, no worries about queuing.

The site is located very close to the city and is very pleasant stroll along the river. No dog walk on site but this is not a problem as you can walk for miles along the river. Turn right out of the site, passed Rowntree Park to the Millenium Bridge and there is a park area where dogs can run off their leads. There is a local pub called The Masons Arms 15 mins walk from site, the food is lovely and they are very dog friendly.

Overall a nice weekend, very chilled walking along the river and sitting outside in the sunshine having a beer watching the boats going past.
