Just returned from two nights at St Helen's caravan park. This is the biggest site we've ever stayed in as I normally gravitate towards small sites. I have to say the facilities were immaculate. The staff and wardens were extremely friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks were clean at all times. We were near the largest block and there were plenty of modern free showers with lovely hot, powerful water. By far the nicest toilet block I've come across on a site. The playground and play field is huge. My two little boys loved it.
The on site cafe was a bonus with friendly staff and reasonably priced breakfasts.
It's a great location for touring Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington etc.
We will definitely be returning.

Just returned from a stay in a pod at St Helens. What a fantastic place! I've stayed at a few camping sites and this one is definitely in my top 2. The facilities are spotless and always clean. They have a lovely little shop/cafe. All the staff are friendly and polite.
There is plenty of space for the children to play as well as the brilliant playground, there are even donkeys and other animals!
I will be back in October half term and will definitely recommend St Helens to all my family and friends. :)

We went in our folding camper with 2 other families in tents, and so stayed in the lovely field which incorporated the kids playground.
The site and facilities were fantastic, well maintained and clean. The field we stayed in was great as had about 10 pitches or so at the back, then a vast expanse of empty field in front of you and the playground, which felt so spacious and nice.
Great location for the coast or for towns like Pickering and Helmsley.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Will be returning. Can't recommend it enough.
No swimming pool on site - but I know this is a deliberate to keep prices down, if you want to swim you can go to the coast if you are brave or a public swimming pool in town.

Great site, impressive sweeping entrance onto site. Pitches well spaced out and level (a motorhome owners dream). We stayed on the adult only side of the site for peace and quiet) and booked a Super Pitch overlooking the most amazing dog walk ever, which also accomodated alpacas, sheep, pigs, horses and donkeys in their individual paddocks. Toilet block was very clean and modern. On site cafe and shop was also very good and extremely handy as we had booked our two older daughters and grandson into a Pod (saved us cooking) and we can thoroughly recommend the Pods too they're a great addition. There's a well equipped kids play area which our grandson took great delight in exploring. There is a short walk to the local Pub (The Downes) which was very accommodating to us and our dogs. Site is just five miles from Scarborough and 20 miles from Filey. A very well run site, and the management team are friendly and informative, all in all a well planned thoroughly well maintained site. We will definitely be booking here again A******

Visited here for a weekend in april and absolutely loved the place.
Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble, (they even ferried a picnic bench to our tents for us)
Kids loved the park area.
All the toilets/showers were immaculate/warm and even had the radio playing!
The site itself was immaculately clean.
Will definitely visit again.

This is 4th time in 3 years we have visited St. Helens, (which in itself says plenty) but 1st time with campervan. Our party was 17 altogether, 3rd time we have had a family gathering there. Easy booking & arrival. Plenty of shower blocks so no queuing, no waiting for pot washing. Has a small shop with cafe attached, sarnies well worth money. Recommended

Just returned from 6 nights here with 3 children and loved it! A lovely quiet place, perfect to use as a base for Scarborough and the surrounding area.
No noise is requested after 10pm and having the children, this worked out perfectly for us.
Owing to the fact that we have a dog we stayed in the top field but it was within easy access of the children's play area and we weren't disturbed by people returning from the pub.
The addition of a little bathroom was brilliant as we have a baby so his nightly bath routine wasn't put out by camping!
The piglets and alpaca's were another added bonus!
The facilities were clean, the grounds well maintained and the staff friendly.
The only thing that could be improved is perhaps the addition of electric hook-ups for the tents but that is just a minor niggle. We will definitely be returning.

There is very little negative to say about this site. It is 'five star' and in most aspects cannot be faulted.
The facilities are excellent - clean, modern and well serviced.
The grounds are maintained to a high standard.
There is a small cafe and shop on site as well as a well stocked tourist information hut with games, magazines and books to swap or borrow.
It is quiet and, although there is a little traffic noise during the day ( near the adult section), this disappears at night.
Only two niggles - the smell of rotting grass clippings (again, in the adult section) meant sitting outside was often fraught and the somewhat fierce speed bumps caused damage to my jockey wheel.

Stayed here over the May bank holiday weekend. Read reviews on here prior to booking and sounded like a nice site to visit with children. We were not disappointed either, the family field was ideal with marked pitches, which allowed plenty of room between tents, and a large play field in front of the tents for ball games, kite flying etc. There was a large chidrens play park which stretched across the far side of the field, so you could see the children playing from the tent. There is only 1 row of tents, so you would need to book in advance, but this left plenty of room and wasn't crowded like some sites I have visited. The little shop and cafe were very nice and there was a BBQ on the Sunday over the bank holiday but we had gone out for the day so didn't attend as Scarborough beach was only a short drive away and the sun was shining. There was a nice large dog walking area on the site which we walked through (even though we don't have a dog!) where we saw donkeys, pigs and alpaca. The donkeys were really friendly and came over for a stroke. The shower and toilet block always seemed to be clean, and each closed at different times for cleaning. I didn't have to wait for a shower, but could imagine having too if you went at a busy time as there were only a small amount for the size of the site. These are however free, warm and plenty of room when getting dried. There are a few local pubs, although we didn't visit any, but within walking distance. I only noticed when we were leaving that in the information hut near reception there was a small fridge and freezer for guest use, so you can leave ice packs or food if you are very trusting! The site is well maintained, and having camped at a lot of sites I think this has to be one of my favourites! The children also loved the play area and large field, so if they are happy, so am I. There were some wooden huts for those that do not want to put tents up, but be aware that no dogs are allowed on the family field, so tents and huts in this area are dog free. There is another camping field and other wooden huts where dogs are permitted, so ask when booking if you are bringing your dog along. We also visited Peasholme park in Scarborough which had a mini golf and boating lake, it was a lovely trip out.
Our only negative was the noise coming from a large group of people occupying the 2 wooden huts on the family field, who insisted on being very loud into the early hours, this was children as well as adults. They also had a pup tent so quite a large group. This went on until after 2. 00am, so quite a lot of angry campers the following morning. I didn't see anybody patrolling at night which some sites have to ask campers to keep the noise down after a certain time, although I did see one of the staff drive over the following morning for a word. Night 2 was a lot better and much quieter.
All in all a great site and we have now booked again for July, so heres hoping the weather holds out :-)

We visited this park twice in may 2014 what a lovely site very quite and loads to do near by. We were reviewing the reviews and the review from a lady in April re her dog being attacked by a boxer dog with irresponsible onwers. We were sited next to this couple with there boxer dog yes the dog barked at other dogs but what a soft dog, and never was the dog left alone. Back to the review we will be going back again. We went Bank Holiday Weekend the site had a barbecue and a band playing really enjoyed our stay. I review these site as for information and guide.
