We spent a few days here for a short break, and what a lovely site. I requested being nearer rather than further from the loo block when booking and the position was perfect, although all the pitches are not too far from either the showers or loos. The site was level, few trees, and exceedingly well kept. The shower and loo blocks are basic but spotless, with lashings of hot water and large shower stalls. Tents and motor homes are in an adjacent part of the site to caravans, but also on the level, and power available to all. There is no wifi on the site, but the Freeview TV reception was good. Through the woods next door there is a huge static caravan park with a lovely fishing lake, this can be accessed from the lane outside the site. Great for dog walking or cycling along other paths round and about. The nearest shops are in Saxmundham where there is a Waitrose and a Tesco, fish and chips etc. Numerous pubs can be found in local villages, most serving food. We will definitely be going back as it is well situated for visits to the seaside, or to Constable country near Colchester etc. As its adults only we have given it a 1/10 for child friendliness and not having wifi loses them a point for facilities.

Nice little site - down a single track lane for the last 100 yards. Very well organised - very helpful owners. They like to re-cycle and ask that tins are washed out. If we go back to this area we would use this site again. There are plenty of large towns not too far away to visit. They take all kinds of units but they separate the tents and motorhomes from the caravans.

Lovely meet and greet from Adrian. We were lucky to book as there are only five tent spaces. The site is mostly for caravans and motor homes but it is relatively small and cosy. The site is surrounded by fields. Unfortunately we had a few nights listening to combine harvesters till. Midnight. The facilities are clean with constant warm water. The night sky has little light pollution so the stars can be enjoyed. It made an ideal touring centre for Suffolk and will return. Perfect.

This was our first visit to Lonely Farm, and we would very much like to stay again. It is very well located for many East Suffolk and Norfolk attractions. The site is small and quiet with a real nice homely feel. We met the very friendly married couple who run it and they were always more than helpful. Adrian was very knowledgeable about the local area and pointed out some good walks along footpaths. The site was well equipped, and there really wasn't anything missing that we desperately needed. Although the showers and toilets need a little updating, they all worked very well. It was refreshing to see showers with a moveable shower head and fitted with a proper control to adjust both the pressure and temperature of the water. So many sites often only have a plunge control button with no option to adjust the temperature. Maintenance also seemed to be carried out continuously. During our stay there was a cracked hand wash basin and a non-working mirror light. Both were replaced and working by the next morning. The owners are obviously very proud of their site and keen that it is always best presented. Grassed areas were really well kept too. Another good point was that tents are in a separate area to caravans and motorhomes. This isn't essential, but occasionally we have been adjacent to a motorhome where they have had their TV on until quite late, and as we were in a tent we could here it. Once again Adrian and his wife were both very friendly and helpful. They've run a special haven of retreat very well, and we look forward to a return visit. Regards, Colin and Mark from Torquay.

Just had a 2night stay with friends. The site is very quiet and clean although the showers (unisex) and toilets are in need of an update. Plenty of space between pitches. The arrival talk on the do's and don't list was a bit long winded and needs a more friendly approach. The off site at 11. 00am is a tad early.

Just returned from Lonely Farm - what a lovely site. Very quiet and peaceful site for 18+ with basic facilities but very clean. The shower block is unisex and has sink cubicals with shaver points. This area holds lots of information about the area with tourist information leaflets and details of walks etc. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Approx 1 mile from the A12 which is perfect for getting out and about. Saxmundon is just a short drive for provisions. There is a small shop and a tea shop in Peasenhall just a short drive away. Can also recommend The Upper Deck in Aldeburgh for fish and chips.

This has to be the best campsite we have visited in the UK - and we've been to quite a few!
If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting within easy reach of some of Suffolk's prettiest villages, this is definitely the place to be.
On arrival, we were greeted by Adrian who gave us tour of the site. We got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. It was a lovely, friendly welcome.
The site is divided into three areas, divided by low hedges and some trees; one predominantly caravans, a smaller area for tents and a third area for motorhomes and caravans. It's really well thought out, with the camping area being nearest to the facilities.
The loos and shower blocks aren't the newest we've seen, but certainly the cleanest and most practical. The unisex shower block has three huge showers as well as cubicles with sinks. Although this doesn't seem many, the site is quite small and the majority of people are in caravans, so they're never that busy.
The pitches are a good size and despite the camping field being almost full for our last night, you feel separate enough to enjoy some privacy, but not so far from everyone to feel unsociable.
Some have mentioned the notices, but I think the owners are just trying to ensure that the site is kept tip-top for everyone. We've been to many sites where people clearly need to be told and think they're right to err on the side of caution.
There is no wifi, but Adrian explained that even the farm has issues with connection and they don't want to offer something to visitors that they can't guarantee- which is fair enough.
In summary, this is wonderful haven of peace and tranquility which we will definitely be returning to!

First visited August 2013. Again lovely welcome. The site is quiet, beautifully kept and attention to detail very refreshing. Generous pitches. Shower/toilet facilities a little 'dated' but spotless at all times. Very pleasant helpful owners. Comments in reviews regarding notices a little exaggerated. Owners only asking guests to help maintain the high standards they aspire to. For the benefit of guests! Surrounding area great for cycling and walking and good base for nice 'days out. Will be on our future regular visits list!

Great, peaceful site. If you are walkers like us then this site is a great base for walking on a lovely part of the Suffolk Coast. You can walk to Saxmundham from the site and there are a couple of local pubs also in walking distance of the site. 20 minutes drive to Aldeborough. Facilities are great, and, as others have said, really clean.

Heaven. If you want peace & quiet this site is perfect, clean & tidy everywhere. Owners very nice and friendly. Showers are biggest we have seen. We are looking forward to many more visits in the years to come. We found that Lonely Farm was a good base to stay at which enabled us to visit Sutton Hoo, Dunwich, Southwold, Flixton Aviation Museum etc - so much to see and so little time.
