We arrived fairly late at night on our bikes but were still given a warm welcome and a comprehensive tour of the facilities and offered a cup of tea!

The tent pitch was very generously sized and included electric hookup (although we did not need or use it). Ground was flat and firm.

The whole site was immaculate and well maintained - the facilities (showers, toilets, washrooms) were not 'fancy' but clean and worked perfectly (and with proper controls on the shower - not one of those buttons that gives you 2 minutes of water that's either too hot or too cold that you seem to get at most larger operations) - and plenty of hot water when we were there late at night and early in the morning.

We found lonely farm to have a wonderful atmosphere - quiet and friendly and having stayed in camp sites and youth hostels from Southern Germany to Fort William this really is one of the nicest that we have stayed at and it has everything that you need.

The only possible criticism is that there are slightly too many laminated notices but when you have met the owners it is clear that these are put up in a spirit of helpfulness and justifiable pride that they have in their lovely site and not autocratic stuffiness.

All in all an excellent site, great value for money and wonderful atmosphere - wish that there were more sites like it and we hope to go back soon and would recommend it to anyone camping/caravanning without children (as it is an adults only site).

Stayed at this site before. The owners are never less than hospitable, despite one or two comments to the contrary. The rules referred to are just common sense ones and probably wouldn't need to be displayed if more people treated the campsite and owners with a bit more respect. Having seen the mess some people left the pitch in when getting off in the wet when the owner would pull you off in his tractor, well I would be furious too. One woman complained that she found a daddylonglegs in the shower room! These are cleaned every single day. If you don't like creepy crawlies don't come camping. I understand that the owners will be making further improvements to the site over winter, particularly the reception area and the lower field. Once again a lovely time was had.

We were met on arrival and shown around all the main facilities and then to our pitch. Despite the recent rain the ground was firm and the grass in good condition. The pitches are very generous in size.

The facilities are in what appear to be the old farm buildings and are spotless.

The showers are unisex, but this is not a problem. There is plenty of light and space in them, but I thought the water pressure could have been greater (my wife thought it was OK).

The surrounding area is lovely and the coast has plenty to offer.

We stayed for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We can recommend this site.

Had a few days at this site again. Used to be run by a very nice older lady and was a very nice quite site to be on. Not any more!

Has been taken over by either son or daughter. Now you are greeted with a list of do's & don'ts with even more on A4 posters around the site. Dictate how the camper should be placed and if not quite right we got asked in not a very nice way to move. The new owners have made this site no longer a pleasant place to stay.

The showers etc have always been very basic but have had nothing done to them for years now in urgent need of up dating.

Owners would be better doing this rather than worrying about all their rules!

Very disappointing.

This site lived up to it's excellent reviews! We stayed Friday to Monday with our 2 dogs and the owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful (even finished the reversing of the motorhome onto the pitch for the wife. ). Gave us lots of info including which local pubs sold food.

Everywhere and everything was spotless and well cared for. Grass area neatly kept and lovely flower borders. Washing up area was enclosed and looked well equipped (we didn't use this). Showers were particularly good, no extra charge and very roomy.

Site is in a very quiet location, being adults only really adds to the chill factor. Only a short drive to Saxmundham ghough which has everything you need, and close to lots of East Suffolks attractions.

We think the pitch fee was very reasonable and less than we've paid for other sites which haven't been as nice.

Brilliant long and short dog walks directly from the site was a real bonus.

Not a single negative from us or the dogs, have recommended to friends and we will be back.

Just got back from this lovely site, we were a little worried after reading an earlier review from a previous reviewer but our fears were soon quashed when we were greeted by the friendly owners, nothing seemed too much for them

The site was spotlessly clean, and facilities where more than adequate,

the price of £15 per unit I believe to be extremity fair for such a nice site, even at £20 for one night there can be no complaints, we have stayed at far worse sites and paid much more. We enjoyed it so much we booked for our Bank Holiday weekend before leaving.

The only downside and it is only a small one was the departure time of 11am perhaps could be extended by an hour or so

We spent 6 nights here in our tent (Lot 18). It rained a good portion of the time but it really didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the site or the area.

This site is incredibly well maintained and quiet. Spotlessly clean! A gem!

The proprietors were especially nice and their two cats helped to make us miss ours (who was lounging at a cattery) less. We will return to this site again soon.

Saxmundham is a great base for exploring Suffolk and Norfolk. The Waitrose in town meant that we didn’t have to purchase much before leaving our house.

There are lots of farm stands, gourmet shops and gastro pubs nearby.

I sought this site out as it has a good number of excellent reviews. The owners seemed friendly enough, but seemed a little disconcerted that I only wanted to stay one night. I was shown around, and the facilities looked nice.

I was a little surprised at the owner's rather strange insistence that I park a certain way, in order that my side door faced away from the adjacent vehicles, but no matter.

Then it came to discussing the charge - £20 for one person, one average sized camper, for one night. I pointed out that I'd never paid such an extortionate charge, and never would. At this point I took my leave.

This was our first visit to the site we got a very warm welcome and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The site was really clean and tidy, the showers wash rooms and toilets were spotless.

we will be going back to this site there was plenty to do in the surrounding area it was within easy reach of the A12 Aldebrugh is well worth a visit. Saxmundem is just down the road for all you're provisions. The site is nice and flat and has two concrete strips to park you're motorhome or caravan on well recommended.

Lovely site. We've spent 5 nights staying here and can't recommend it highly enough. The pitches are extremely well kept and are a very good size giving us plenty of space to spread out. All pitches have electric hook ups and although we didn't use this facility on this visit, we will next time we come here.

There is a unisex shower block with 3 good sized showers and 5 wash areas all with lockable doors and despite the site being busy, we never had to queue. A mop and bucket is provided outside of each shower and guests are encouraged to clean up after themselves which makes having a shower a pleasant experience as no dirty puddles to avoid.

The washing up area also has a spin dryer for laundry and a freezer which guests could use for food as well as freezer blocks which is really handy if you're camping.

We will definitely be returning next year.
