Our first visit to this site with caravan which replaced motor home. What a delightful site. The owner welcomed us and showed us to our pitch. Pitches are very generous size. Ours had hedges either side, field very well kept with grass cut and trees/hedges well trimmed. Location great for getting out and about to many quite 'local' attractions. The site is a really peaceful place, nice walks around the site area, two lakes close by. Facilities spotlessly clean and although not the most 'modern, well cared for. Comments re 'notices' by other guests bit exaggerated! Asking guests to help keep the site in the lovely condition we find it in and recycle where we can should not be a problem, rather a refreshing approach to maintaining high standards! We will definitely return to this lovely site

What a gem of a site this is. Just had our third stay & this time the weather was lovely. Adrian, Jenny & the family can't do enough for you. The grass pitches are spacious & in good condition. The washrooms are very clean & we never had to wait for a washroom, toilet or shower to become free. There are quite few regulars using this site but everyone is friendly. It is just such a peaceful site. The town of Saxmundham is excellent for food shopping with both a Waitrose & Tesco. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this site.

This is a lovely campsite with helpful and friendly owners. The facilities were spotless and there was plenty of hot water for showers and washing-up. The was also a freezer for freezer-blocks but no fridge.
The site is conveniently located for the small town of Saxmundham which has 2 supermarkets and a chip shop. There are also numerous pubs nearby that serve food. This is a good location for visiting seaside towns such as Southwold and Aldeburgh and near to other attractions such as Orford Ness and Dunwich Heath. There are several walks from the campsite and the owner gave us a map on arrival. We found the nearby lake a lovely place to take an evening stroll and look for wildlife such as bats and hedgehogs. The night sky here is great - it got really dark and we were lucky enough to see the Perseid Shower clearly!
The site is peaceful and well-run and we had an enjoyable week there.

There is so much wrong with Lonely Farm. It is not moveable, I want to stay on this site every time I go away. Every campsite owner/manager should visit this site to see how a campsite should be run. The pitches are large, well kept and level. The facilities were always spotless and at one time the paper hand towel ran out which I mentioned in passing and within 20 minutes it was replaced. This was at 10. 15 at night too.
There are lovely walks from the site with plenty of birdlife to see. If its nature you want, Minsmere is a short drive away Dunwich Heath, Wilberswick is a must. And a visit to the Bell Inn will set you up for a wonderful holiday. I know that we are not supposed to identify but I personally want to thank the owners of Lonely Farm Caravan Campsite for making our stay so pleasurable.
I've just finished the rating. 10 is not high enough !

Brilliant peaceful site. Facilities were always spotlessly clean. Lots of hot water. Great fields for tents, caravans and campervans. Campervan area has good hardstanding for van with large grassed area adjacent. Every pitch has electric hook up.
It is adult only so very peaceful all year round. Very friendly owners who really care about their site.
Very reasonable at £15 per night with electric in July for a campervan and 2 adults.
We found it to be an excellent base for exploring Suffolk, within easy reach of Aldeburgh, Southwold, Dunwich, Minsmere RSPB reserve, Thorpeness, Framlingham to name a few. Saxmundham is about 2 miles away with a Tesco and Waitrose, fish and chip shop and take always!
This is one of the nicest sites we have been to and we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed from Monday to Friday last week in May.
The owners are welcoming and friendly, the site is very very clean, good sized grassed pitches with hard standing for cars or vans, electric points are close by. Toilets and washrooms are clean and well kept.
Well sited (not far from A12)easy to visit all local towns, note the nearest pub is the Poachers Pocket, nice walk, just over a mile but not open Monday as we found out and not open evening rest of week until 1900.
There are a lot of signs about, I agree they are there to assist and to help keep the site looking good, but we did think there were a few too many.
Yes we would visit again and yes we would recommend it to others because is well placed, quiet well sited and the owners welcoming and very friendly.

This was our first outing in the tent for 2013, also our first ever visit to Suffolk. The whole weekend was perfect. What a fantastic campsite, friendly owners who could not do enough to help, great sized pitch with electric included, spotless facilities. The whole campsite was immaculate.
The surrounding area has an abundance of walks and cycle routes, pretty villages and some lovely country pubs.
The only downside of the weekend was that we had to go home and could not stay longer, we hope to return later in the year for a longer stay.

Far too many do's and don'ts in the campsite put us off. It's a lovely quiet campsite, but my goodness! Having laminated signage everywhere reminding campers not to put sanitary wear down the toilets, even in the gents toilets apparently! Why on earth is it necessary to patronise intelligent adults? Everywhere we went there were signs repeating the same things over and over again. On the front and back of doors, on the walls everywhere whether relevant to that area or not, for example, in the washup room, reminding us only to use the toilet paper provided in the loos and in the toilets reminding campers what rubbish to put in which recyling bin.
As soon as we arrived with our dog we were warned not to let him bark. Poor lad hadn't even got out of the car after a 5 hour journey and we were already being warned and made to feel he wasn't welcome even though they say dogs are allowed.
It is a lovely campsite, very quiet and well kept, facilities are super, but the control freakery of signage and do's and don't's is a little overbearing.
The area is stunning, we had a fabulous short break and would love to return to the area. We won't return to this campsite however; I think the owners like the routine of regulars, but new people like us were made to feel less welcome.

Spent a week here. Wonderful! Facilities were clean, spacious and ample. Good walks nearby. Plenty of room in camping field. Friendly owners. Easy drives to Southwold and Aldburgh. Quietest site ever been on.
Good pub reasonably nearby, probably a drive for most though. Interesting places to visit within car rides away.
Adult only, even better!
Plenty of shops within easy drive away.
Will be returning soon. Only 5 tent pitches I believe, so book early!

This is the third year that we have been to Lonely Farm. We absolutely love this campsite, so much so that we have decided to leave our caravan here, and come back several times a year. The owners daughter and her husband took over this site about three years ago and have ensured that it has stayed a friendly, quiet, peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
The site is well kept with lovely field views all round. The facilities may not be brand new, but they are kept in immaculate condition, and the showers are spacious with plenty of hot water available at all times.
It is a very dog friendly site, with lovely walks on the doorstep. What more could you ask for.
