Our third visit to this idyllic and peaceful site. It is a site that is frequented by regulars for sure. The couple who own it are not about making a fortune, it ticks along nicely. Yes it does mainly cater for wobble boxes, but there aren't that many sites where you get free and copious hot water, free freezer, soft toilet paper, peace and quiet: our idea of heaven.
We are already looking forward to our next visit here. This site is our little Suffolk haven.

Great experience. Toilet and shower blocks very clean and well kept as described on their web site. It is family run and owners always busy around the place keeping it so, they are always ready with any questions we had and gave us some info on local walks and bike rides. It is very quiet which is what I expected from an adult only site. I will certainly be returning very soon

A really lovely campsite. Excellent setting and the facilities were first rate. Toilets and Showers were clean at all times and lovely and warm to step into. The owners seemed to be busy all the time, bins were emptied regularly and it was very tidy and the family were friendly. Enjoyed our three days and we will come again.

On the whole a disappointing stay at Lonely Farm which I will move onto. But regarding the facilities; A nice little site, and very well kept and clean. Clean toilets (although no hot water in the loos) a washing machine and good showers. The nearest main shop is about to close though, and we did struggle a little to find anywhere to buy some groceries.
Now for the bad part:
There were two of us, and a very well behaved (if somewhat dim) dog, we are both in our thirties and straight away when we got there the owner who I am sure is lovely, seemed to look down on us. While this is an adult site, it might be best described as a retirement village.
When I initially booked, I specifically asked if I could have a camp fire if I brought an off ground fire pit, and we were given the thumbs up. However on the second night the owner came to us saying 'you aren't having that fire going again are you?'
Needless to say we will not be going back. I would recommend the site for sure, it is a nice spot (although the 5am anti crow horns can be a bit of a fright).

This is a small, quiet campsite, more geared for caravans than tents. We were squeezed into a very small area with very little distance between us.
For the weekend we were with 2 other couples in 3 tents and our young dog. When my husband and I turned up, the lady approached our car - took one look at us (we are in our 30s!) and said 'we don't allow loud music here' so she had already decided that we were young and going to be lager louts listening to rave music?! So, unfortunately for me - what I call a bad start.
The facilities were ok, limited and fairly basic. A good base for exploring the area by car if you are looking for somewhere peaceful and out of the way.
However we will not be going back.

There is NO fishing on this site and you cannot use the lake next door as the owner eludes to when booking. The nearest fishery is a good 20 minute drive.
The site otherwise is excellent value for money, lovely and peaceful but no good if you were wanting a fishing holiday as we were!
The surrounding area is really beautiful, the coast is within easy reach and Southwold is gorgeous, well worth a visit. Ipswich is worth a visit and has plenty of shops.

Well this was our first visit back since 2000, and it did not disappoint, even if the weather was pretty awful, especially when we arrived. The owners were most helpful and the facilities remain superb and excellent 'value for money'. We will be back and recommend that this is the place to go if you want peace and quiet.
It is in an excellent position for all the local attractions.

Neat and tidy farm site, friendly owners and not busy despite the time of year. Quiet - not walking distance to anywhere so you're reliant on bikes or the car to get to a shop or pub. A little bit removed from the coast, but this is no bad thing given that this is a campsite rather than a holiday park.
The area is lovely and well worth a visit. The area around Orford is particularly nice.

Stayed at Lonely Farm over a very wet bank holiday, but had a great time! The site is lovely, very peaceful and with spacious pitches in a number of different areas with trees and hedges inbetween.
The owner met us when we arrived and couldn't have been more helpful. The facilities were very clean, very large showers and loads of hot water - and yes, the toilet paper was still soft!
Great location as well - Orford Ness well worth a trip, but get there early to make sure you catch a ferry. Southwold Pier also worth a look if you're heading north. Overall, a great site and hope to return.

Stayed for 4 days in July, a lovely site despite appalling summer weather. The ground was a tad soggy, we arrived on Sun and by Weds we were in danger of floating! Great facilities, a wonderful peaceful site, handy for wildlife watchers and walkers, one to go back to for sure.
