My girlfriend and I spent 7 nights at family run Treveague Farm and have to say that we could not be happier with our experience.
The team were helpful, friendly, personable and on so many occasions went beyond the call of duty during a very windy and stormy few days.
The camp itself is exceptionally clean and tidy and the facilities very well managed.
The on site cafe is stocked with their own meats, reared and butchered on site (they could even tell me the name of the pig I was eating in my bacon sandwich!) True provenance!
The surrounding towns are pretty and the walks rewarding.
I will be returning later this year and would encourage anyone to do the same.

We had a choice £23 pn at a caravan club site or £9pn here and because it was only an hour up the road from home we came here! Large pitches although not all the grass was cut but there were some sheep eating their way up the field !
Fantastic views either way, you could see for miles on a sunny day and you could also see when the rain was coming ! which it did.
Didnt mind paying 50p for 4 minutes in the shower (found I needed 8 mins). Clean modern toilet and shower block with music. Handy site if you like walking. We took a stroll down to Gorran Haven village which took 10mins, lovely little village, good shop selling great pasties, nice clean beach. We also had a hike around Dodman point.
This site is very good value, plenty of room for kids to play, cafe was closed but menu looked good, if your looking for a good value family holiday on a farm with peace and quiet give this one ago

Myself, my Husband and our children (5 and 6yrs old) stayed here for a week. We got our choice of pitch from the ones that had been prepared as it was the beginning of the season. No mention was made to the size of our tent (quite large) which seems to be an issue at most other campsites.
The site owner was very friendly and could be found most of the time if not on site. If not then instructions were left as to when they would be back.
The shower block was extremely clean and there was always a shower/toilet available. This may change as the site gets into the busy season. Showers are used by token 50p for 4 minutes which is plenty for any adult but not quite enough if taking a child/ren in with you so you may need two. It gives a minute's warning before it switches off which is handy.
There is also a room within the ladies shower block for baby changing/hair drying (dryers not provided) with a travel cot to keep baby safe whilst using the plugs and mirrors for drying hair/ putting on make-up etc. There are only two indoor washing up sinks and one outdoor and at one point I had to queue to use these so would possibly get busy during peak season.
Having said that the facilities are great as we had full use of a shelf in the fridge for the week due to the freezer not being available for freezer blocks. The owner offered to put them in her freezer but felt that we didn't want to have to go to her twice a day to rotate them as we usually do in the cool box.
There is an excellent drying room for those things that inevitably get wet during a British holiday with children and just won't dry inside a tent.
The playground kept the kids entertained for the entire holiday when we were on site and is a really good facility.
The cafe and pool room weren't open when we were there so can't really comment on that.
The kids were looking forward to seeing lambs and piglets but there was no sign of either except for in a top field. We had the impression that we would see more of the animals.
The walk to Gorran Haven beach was a nice one and certainly achievable with children of our age even the walk back which is quite steep. The beach is lovely and has all the facilities you will need, cafes, chip shop, souvenir shops etc.
Overall the site was lovely and we would definitely recommend it.

We spent 3 nights at Treveague Farm. I can imagine it's a lovely place to stay in season when the sun is shining. September - the cafe/shop was open for only 2 hours, twice a day.
Facilities are good for washing up, there's a microwave and a freezer for freezer blocks. Washing machines/ dryers too. A play garden for children.
The view out to sea is wonderful, but didn't see it much due to September fog and drizzle! The feel of this campsite is peaceful. There is a good walk to the Dodman point as well as nearby beaches straight from the site.
My only criticism is that there seemed to be no-one actually taking care of the facilities for the 4 days we were there: toilets and showers were dirty when we arrived and not cleaned throughout our stay, bins were overflowing, old laundry was left lying around.

Lovely campsite, very busy but we were there in the summer holidays. Everything well maintained and a lovely location. Would love to go back. We were in the over flow camp field which was a bit sloped, but was not a problem for us. There was a restaurant we used and they had story telling and activities for the kids and their adventure play ground was well used by our kids until it got dark. The only draw back was it was a fair trek from the local super market for provisions but if you are organised (unlike us!) it shouldn't be a problem.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here and overall the site is great.
It was my wife's first trip proper camping and what I mean by this is she had done caravanning in South Africa but proper camping is Tenting in UK.
The site is well equipped with a small shop for essentials and a restaurant. We did not make use of the restaurant as we cooked every night by or inside the tent.
With 4 boys, there was lots to do. Plenty of open space for a kick about and the older boys found it fun rolling down the hill in the overspill field. The small park is also a good way to loose them for an hour or so. The storyteller was also very good and to keep 20+ kids in a tent quiet is some feat.
The showers, toilets and washing facilities are both well equipped and clean. On the Saturday afternoon the gents was a bit grubby but this was due to an un-fortunate kiddie accident that can't be prepared for. One small point, I hope you like the Dirty Dancing soundtrack as this was on a loop in the toilets for the entire 4 days. Being picky here but maybe swap to topgun in the gents.
Local to the site was Mevagissy and we also took a trip to St Mawes after doing some shopping in Truro. Local beaches are good but be aware of the tides as we went to one beach with the cricket set to find we should of brought the snorkels.
Yes it is windy but just make sure you spend good time putting your tent up properly and you will have no issues.
We will definitely go back.

Just enjoyed our first trip to Cornwall. Stayed at Treveague Farm. Chose it because of the location, the farm setting and the excellent reviews. We weren't disappointed. Its a great campsite. Very good value. Simple price system too - no added extras.
We didn't have elec hook up so were in one of the outer fields. It was very busy so our pitch (which we were free to choose ourselves) was on a slight slope but it didn't pose too much of an issue. And yes, it was windy, but surely that's to be expected on a campsite high up on the coastal cliffs!
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The toilets and showers were clean and more than adequate. The cleaner (sorry, I didn't aske her name) never stopped from morning till evening. I rarely queued for either. The 50p token system for 4 minutes was great and gave plenty of time. The extra dressing room in the ladies' showers was great for mums with babies and for those of us who still like to look human when we camp!
The shop was ok for basics although no fruit of veg. There was a farm selling veg down the road. We ate in the cafe a couple of times which was excellent quality and good value.
The only negative was the freezer for ice packs. It was full to capacity and the ice packs never got a chance to freeze. Thankfully it wasn't too hot so not a huge problem but I would suggest for such a big campsite, more freezers are required. Or perhaps an exchange system where the site have a stock to exchange with.
Yes, there were times when we had to queue a while to wash up but it wasn't the end of the world.
I liked the fact we could recycle stuff.
The kids loved the play area and we used the indoor barn once too.
We loved the hide. I've never seen a badger before so I was thrilled to see 6 in one go, so close! It was lovely to be on a working farm.
The walk down to Gorran Haven beach was lovely. It is steep though and I would say a bit longer than the 10 mins it says in the guide. Also, the beach was very very busy but great facilities down there - cafes, chippy, shop, toilets etc. And. The cafe let you take your coffee to the beach in a real mug! Not just a paper cup!
Fowey and Mevagissy are well worth a visit. As is Eden which isn't too far away.
All in all it was a great holiday. The weather was mixed but there is enough to do for all weathers.
We would definitely return to Cornwall and would definitely camp at treveague again. We have already recommended it to friends.

We chose this site for it's relative remoteness and lack of facilities such as a swimming pool, bar and entertainment facilities.
We can't really add much to the previous comments except to say that in our opinion the site facilities struggled to cope with the August crush.
Now that we are free of having to holiday during school terms we'll probably go back during a quieter period to properly enjoy it.
Great site, fantastic views, nice walks, friendly staff, a short walk to the beach. What's not to like?

We have just returned from 4 nights. The site is very good value for money @ £17. 50 in August for our family. We used the site cafe for tea and takeaway, both of which were very good. The shop was limited in what it stocked but the basics were there. The facilities were clean and well thought out with the kitchen area, although we didn't stand a chance of squeezing anything in the fridge! The toilet and showers were warm and clean, although I did think it could have done with a few more toilets as there was only 4 and often had to queue. We were given the choice of which overflow camping field we wanted to stay in which was good, however the pitches available were on the slope. All of the staff we spoke with were very helpful. Our daughter loved the story teller, which was a lovely added touch. We would recommend Porthpean Beach, about 9 miles away and Charlestown.
All in all a good site, we would return.

Just returned from a visit to Treveague Farm. The site was very busy, apparently full to capacity. Everyone was friendly and we had no problems other than putting a tent peg through a water pipe twice - not laid deep enough, obviously, but we were reassured that this was to be taken in hand over the off-peak season.
We would reiterate all the positive comments made regarding cleanliness, lovely views and general site set-up in other reviews, however, think that the washing up facilities are poor (one sink for the whole site and if other people have sent their children to do the washing up you can write off at least an hour of your evening waiting) and that the lavatory facilities are inadequate when the site is full. Four ladies' lavatories for a site of this size is not enough. There's only one hand drier in the loos and no paper towels. The showers are 50p for four minutes - I've never been to a site that charges for showers before and I thought it was a bit much to be honest. How about giving each party member a token for each day of their stay, i. E. , a party of four gets 28 tokens when they arrive and if they need any more they can buy them at the desk.
Note also that it really IS windy! I read other reviews before booking and thought we'd chance it being a bit breezy. No, it's windy. We put up a gazebo when we arrived, planning lovely lazy evenings, eating our evening meal and enjoying a glass or ten of wine. Apart from the fact that it rained for most of our holiday, the gazebo blew away in at 3am two days after we got there and we had to dismantle it in our pyjamas in a howling gale. It would have been funny to watch, but we weren't laughing at the time.
The restaurant is good, but like the rest of Cornwall, expensive for what you get.
Our kids loved the beach at Gorran so don't miss that. There are some good little cafe/restaurants down there too so you could easily spend the day there.
The playground got the thumbs up too, although I wouldn't have wanted a pitch near it as some parents seemed to think it reasonable to allow their children to go and play there at a ridiculously early hour so that anyone pitched there would have been obliged to wake up!
