See May 2007 review for facilities etc. Usually come in May, but we decided to come in August as well this year as we love this campsite. Expecting it to be completely full, but due to the weather wasn't as full as we had expected.
Things have changed since May, Myra and Steve now serve food in the Secret Garden, we sampled their evening meals and it was delicious, deserts were very yummy too! We also had a story teller who came to the Secret Garden to tell us stories (suitable for all ages). The story about how Cornwall got it's name was interesting. Kids loved it. The campsite is very exposed and you do get a bit of a battering from the winds. It was very muddy on this occasion due to the amount of rainfall. It wasn't a problem for us as we had brought our welly boots, but was quite amusing seeing people in their flip flops wading through the mud. But did feel sorry for Myra who had a job on her hands trying to keep the facilities clean!
We did notice that in August they could probably do with another fridge and a washing machine and dryer, but apart from that, a very good stay enjoyed by us all.

We stayed 5 nights at this great site (only left a bit early due to weather) - very reasonably priced and with quite a few extras like a microwave and fridges plus free access to a big freezer for cool pack, plus a drying room.
Lots of loos and showers so no queues!
We like the fact that there is no entertainment or bar - and also that they leave a big play space for kids.
Very good disabled loo/shower - not shared as a family shower (which we have experienced before and which can cause big problem if son needs loo but it's got a family of 5 showering in it!) Only hitch with this as that they had only one key to it - which meant it was not cleaned out as often as the other loos and when someone else needed access we had to give them the key they had given us and somehow we didn;t get it back - but it was only on our last day and a half so we managed using regular loos. However Jane said they realised this was an issue and they were planning to put a numerical lock on it instead.
(funnily enough they directed people to the disabled loo while others were being cleaned - but it had no lock (cos key was only way to lock it)!)
Only other minor niggles were not really enough dishwashing sinks (only 2) so at busy times long wait to wash up. And personally I did not like the piped music loop into the loos and dish wash area!
But apart from that probably one of the best sites we've been at and we'd definitely go back if returning to that part of Cornwall.
Oh yes, and some great eating out to be had in Mevagissey. The Portuguese restaurant (can't remember name but funnily enough it is the only one.!) is fantastic. Not cheap for family of four but well worth it. Also Sharkfin on the harbour front was really good, fresh food and a good choice.

I would recommend this site to anyone who does not require entertainment and refreshments on tap. The location is stunning with fantastic views all around.
Facilities are just enough for a site of this size with an excellent kitchen / drying room.
Try the walk around or over Dodman point, joining up with the South West Coast path and its ceaseless ability to offer stunning scenery at every step. Walk to Mevagissey or Gorran Haven and complete the route back across country. Fabulous.
I imagine that during the school holidays the area will become nightmarishly overcrowded so if you can go now!

We have just had a fantastic week at Treveague farm. The site is lovely, the facilities are great. The only downside was the British weather!
The surrounding area is fantastic, lots of little coves along the coastline, every direction you go there is beach, all of them are fantastic for building sandcastles. Small shop nearby in Gorran Haven that sells lovely fresh bread and cakes. Farm shop also nearby in Heligan that was great for BBQ food. Narrow lanes, especially in Mevagissey.
The facilities on the farm are great. Very hot clean showers, toilets always clean and tidy. Great kitchen with freezer and fridge, microwave also there. Well maintaned site, grass kept short, no litter, lovely nice and tidy site. Lots of space to pitch tent. Owners very friendly and helpful. Lots to entertain children with great climbing frame. Brilliant box full of buckets and spades and fish nets that you can borrow.
Will definatly return to site. Loved it!

What can I say this site is FANTASTIC. The shower / toilet block were always clean, the showers were great and well worth 50p for 4 mins. The kids loved the playground, the only time we would see them was when they were hungry! We had a terrible start to our first holiday in Cornwall very bad winds and rain, the wind damaged our tent. Myra & Steve were excellent in helping us, offering us a trailer tent and Myra phoning all the local camping dealers to help find us a new holiday home, if it wasnt for this we would have been home 5 days early. We thank them very much. The views from both ends of the site are stunning. There are 2 excellent beaches just 5 mins walk away, though would advise that you dont drive to Hemmel Beach as there is only enough room room for a few cars and no space to turn round!
The hide is brilliant, we saw Badgers every night.
Would highly recommend this site, value for money and great setting. Will definatley be visiting again next year.

Amazing place. The facilities were very good, toilets and showers very clean. The kids loved it there with lots of room for ball games in the centre of the field, they enjoyed feeding the pigs and visiting the hide. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel at home. The views from the site are breath taking, and a 10 min stroll downhill takes you down to the beach, where they serve a mug of tea for 70p. Definitely will be visiting again.

Brilliant! Our first visit to this superb site. Toilets and showers were spotless, children free to wander around areas of the farm and interact with goats and pigs. Fantastic hide to watch badgers at night, saw six or seven each time. Owners were the friendliest and most helpful we have ever met, nothing was too much trouble. All this for £15 a night for tent, four people and electric hook-up. Maybe could do with a bit of a play area for children but believe this may be in the pipeline for the future.

This was our first visit to Treveague Farm, the facilities are excellent, the toilet and shower block are very clean. There is a kitchen with fridges and a chest freezer you can store your food and ice blocks free of charge. There is a small laundry room and a drying room. Myra and Jane are very helpful making you feel very welcome, the walks to the beaches are a challenge especially when you are pushing a pushchair, but worth it when you get to the beaches, the beaches are excellent for children. The views are stunning. The shop is handy you can order bread and cakes etc from the local bakery. The only faults we could find was the narrow lanes, also the site could do with an extra washing machine. The prices are very good. We loved it so much that we have booked to go again next year

Very warm welcome, told you can pitch where you like, but not too close to other tents or pitches which was great as it gave you some surrounding space. But we found it a little confusing as there are no actual pitch boundries, so best asking first. The price they charge is very good for a camping pitch. Toilets and showers were OK, showers took 4 minute tokens at 50p each. Separate room for sinks and showers from the toilets and hand wash basins. Disabled toilet may be a challenge to get to as people had pitched at the side of the toilet block BUT I didn't see this close up so I cannot fully comment Laundry.ah, this was a scrabble to say the least at certain points and cost 2 x £1 coins to do a load and they had also one dryer same cost. The washing up could also be a rush, but wasn't a big deal as you moved pretty quick. There were two fridges and a large chest freezer that were constantly full, and there was a microwave to be used. Also, a 10' square ish drying room. they left a large open piece at the top of the field for kids to play ball games etc. The site generally was OK, mostly sloped, some level and a spectacular view over the sea, but the wind can get up, and does get a bit hairy if it does and rains too, but excellent for kites. Reception were very good with helping out on minor problems like lending me a mallet, and they had newspapers, fresh bread and cakes delivered daily, fresh milk and meat both fresh and frozen, and basic shop items, tins, foil, toiletries (for ladies) etc. Be aware, shop / reception is only open limited times - 8am til 11am then 4pm til 8.30pm, but I guess you are on holiday not going shopping. 10-15 minute walk into Gorran Haven, very nice but the local shop there is VERY expensive compared to the supermarket. Another beach 15-20 minutes walk away, but didn't go there so cannot comment. The farm itself, you are free to go see the sheep, pigs, goat and visit the bird hide to watch the birds or see the badgers at night. Toilets are cleaning on a very regular basis, and the bins were emptied daily, but could have done with more bins better situated. Fresh drinking water was available from outside the toilets.

Really enjoyed this site. First family camping holiday with 3 boys (10,7and 4). Boys spent most of time playing football at the goal net and with the box of toys. Beautiful views. Could do with more washing up sinks but great drying room. Fridges and Freezers. Gateway to upper field got a bit slippy to drive through after one night of rain but owners put straw down to solve this. Boys amazed to see badgers in hide - 8 one night and 10 the next. Please be quiet when entering the hide as families charged in noisily and scared them off several times! Gorran Haven beach very child friendly and nice pub in Church Gorran. Lost Gardens of Heligan spectacular and about 10 minutes away.
