Second visit to this fantastic site, owners are super friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Very quiet despite it being Easter but it was a pretty dreary weekend weather wise! Glad we opted for EHU and fire pit! nothing to fault here, facilities always spotless, water always hot and lovely views although the lingering fog spoilt that a little this time round. The owners took us on a tour of their farm this time which was great, adults and children alike loved it. We will be returning again soon.

This is a very nice site. The very friendly, helpful lady owner met us on arrival and showed us the layout of the site. The facilities are very good, heated toilet and shower block with very spacious shower cubicles. The caravan / Motorhome pitches have their own electric, water and drainage and the hardstandings are level, and the view from our pitch was beautiful. The dog walking area is an enclosed field which will allow the dogs ample room for playing (although when we were there the dog walking field was inhabited by sheep but the owner said that we could exercise our dogs on the campsite itself as it was quiet at this time of the year, naturally as long as we cleaned up after them). There are a few walks from the site. A nice beach can be reached by walking down the road for about quarter of a mile before turning down a track by the side of a cottage and then across a field (it took us about 15mins to reach the beach itself, I doubt that Usain Bolt could do it in 5 mins!). Seascale and Drigg are both within walking distance and I believe that there is a nice pub in Drigg but we didn't go, so I can't comment. The reception has quite an extensive amount of information about attractions, bus times, restaurants etc and there is free Wi-Fi available. Overall, an excellent base from which to explore the Lake District. I highly recommend this site.

Just got back from our 3 night stay at shepherds view, on arrival we were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming and showed us to our pitch, the site was very peaceful and had clean toilets/showers, they had a dog walking field were dogs can be let off the lead which was great, great location not far from the beach and the little village seascale, we would of definitely stayed hear again until our very last day when our minds were changed because of the way some other campers were treated by the owners, we feel that if someones just arrived and there tent is flattened because of the weather virtually straight away that they should of been given a more sheltered pitch like they asked for or got told they could use there nights another time, other sites offer this, we felt on arrival the owners were lovely then when someone needed help that changed, overall lovely clean peaceful site but would not stay here again

Friendly owners managed to put up group of 6 vehicles at quite short notice. Facilities clean and price for a pitch was very reasonable. Friendly helpful site and owners. Seascale is a few minutes away by car with a small grocery shop and a chinese takeaway. Nice car park next to beach with plenty of kite land craft out and about. Logs available and pre sited firepits. Would definitely use again.

Stayed here on the recommendation of friends who have stayed numerous times and we are glad we did. Shepherds view is a fantastic site with very friendly and welcoming owners. The facilities are kept immaculately clean and you can sing along to the music when showering! The shower/toilet block is unisex which is a bit different but didn't bother us. There are also sink cubicles with mirrors if you want a bit of privacy whilst washing or brushing teeth. We opted for EHU and fire pit! it was quite early on in the season so still a little chilly. It's great that you can have a fire, not many sites allow it these days. The site is on a slight slope but you can pitch your tent in whatever direction you chose so not really a problem. Not really sure why people have complained about road noise, it's very quiet here apart from the usual country side sounds which is lovely. Will definitely be returning before the season is over. The local area is lovely and as me and my hubby are keen cyclists it's right on the coast to Coast cycle route so great ride out for us. Nice touch that the site provides a number of picnic tables in the camping area which you can move to your area to use during your stay, would highly recommend if you like a quiet campsite with high standard facilities and the option of a fire. No play parks for the kids but plenty of space to play ( for kids and adults!) all we need is a bat and ball and our entertainment is complete!

We've just arrived back from a great (very sunny) bank holiday weekend at the end of may. The site is extremely clean and very well looked after. The pitches are very large and there's plenty of room for the kids to run around, there is even a donkey & a horse that the kids loved going to visit. The only off putting thing for me was that the toilet block & showers were unisex i felt a bit uncomfortable stood in a queue next to a man, there are only 3 toilets and 3 showers but apart from that it was very good. Sink area spotless, unisex showers spotless. The surrounding area was great, you are basically quite isolated but the beaches were within walking distance (about half an hour with a 4, 8 & 9 year old) and they were empty! Not sure if this was anything to do with it being near a nuclear power plant? Seascale itself was a lovely little place and worth visiting for the amazing ice cream parlour a definite must! All in all we had a fantastic time, the owners were always on hand and gave great advice on where to visit, we will definitely visit again and I'll prepare myself for the unisex toilets. Thank you for a great stay :-)

Stayed over the 1st May bank holiday weekend [2nd/5th] in our tent and had Electric hook up and also had the campfire.
Campsite is great nice spaced out pitches for tents with enough room for large tents plus your car on decent level grass although with a slight slope but nothing to worry about, there is also pitches/hard standings for tourer caravans and 2 wooden Pods for hire all in good condition. The shower toilet block is great, very clean and well set out with 2 shower cubicles with separate seating area so you don't get your clothes wet and another shower in the larger disabled toilet which can be used for whoever and is a decent size, they also have 2 cubicle sinks with mirror so you can clean your teeth and spruce up yourself up without being in the way or looked at by all, also has piped music which is great and a good idea as the block is unisex.
The owners just what you want and need from campsite owners nice to talk to and tell you what you need to know if asked about the local area. Some people have mentioned road noise but we never heard any as nearest road hardly any cars run along it at night and not much in the day either.
Campsite well looked after and well set out so can only give it 10 out of 10 from us.

Just returned from using one of the 3 cottages available on this site - warm and friendly greeting from the site owners - the cottage is warm, clean and of a high standard - the site is situated with fantastic views of the accessible hills and countryside of the West lakeland area for fell and hill walking - also a gentle walk down the road or use the beach and call in at Ravensglass - points of historic interest as well as the 'Laal Ratty' small gauge steam railway (do like we did take the train out and walk back over the hills) - the site is a gentle stroll away from the Victoria Hotel which serves very nice meals (just next to Drigg train station) - I would recommend this site to everyone - campers, caravanners or self caterers - its clean well maintained, accessible and the site owners are very friendly and helpful - having seen the toilet and shower block I know this is again of a high clean standard - we will be returning again with the tent next season and recommendations are always being passed onto friends and colleagues.

Had a great time here in the area, weather was awful but I tried not to let it stop me and I did plenty of walks.
The facilities were spotless but I was the only tent unit on site, there are lots of walks round about of interest so don't discount this area.
I had to cut short my trip as the ground under my tent did not drain well at all, this was after a few days dismal (fine rain but soaking) weather followed by one night of torrential rain so I'd be very concerned in all honesty as even in summer the lake district weather can be unpredictable and I'm not sure the site can cope with a heavy downpour as there's nothing to drain to.
I'd love to say I'd come back but the state on my tent tonight dictates otherwise after I got it out the van tonight, I've been camping in all weathers for years and drainage has always been a top priority when pitching but this site doesn't offer no 'safe' pitches sadly its just the way of the land (not the owners fault) was offered a friendly chat but no refund sadly. Even when my tent was in a foot of water!

Just returned from a fantastic weekend there. Four adults Four dogs and two large tents. Pitches were large and well spaced. The site was neat and well planned out. Toilet/Shower block spotless at all times of day. Excellent dog run - all secured. The campfire just finish off an excellent well run site. Very convenient to order logs and have them delivered to your tent daily, we had it set up between our two tents and cooked breakfast dinner and tea on it. No noise noted from the road that we noticed and handy for the local beach to give the dogs a good run. We will definitely be returning. In all the campsite was very hospitable and peaceful. One of the friendliest we have stayed at.
