Went for 4 nights and stopped for 11.

Very friendly staff, nice level pitches, nice pub which does great food in walking distance, Co-op also within walking distance.

Fishing was excellent, I had loads of carp from 2 of the pools, the grandkids fished on Botany bay and caught over 220 silver fish on 1 session.

Will Def be returning as only 45 minutes from Brum.

Shame no discount for fishing when staying on site also shame no part or half day fishing.

This was our first time at this camp site, we normally go for smaller sites, however it was great. The pitches were all flat and lots of space for children to run around in the woods, or play ballgames on the grass. Had a real family friendly feel to it. I was not overly busy, and was wonderfully quite in the evenings.

Only 2 ladies showers, which for the number of pitches could be a problem.

About a 40 min walk away it the national forest centre, which has a good playground and walks etc. Go mid week for more activities like archery etc.

We arrived at Beehive about 7ish on Friday evening and we were very impressed with reception and the friendly staff.

The pitch was great, flat and very large.

The toilet blocks were small, but clean although I can imagine when fully loaded, may not cope. (Only 2 showers and toilets), unless you pay 50p for a family room. (the only temperature controlled shower), it was blazing hot, so couldn't adjust the phenomenal hot water from the normal ones.

Two sinks in pot wash. Again, clean and tidy.

Shop, again, was small but adequate. Freezer block re-freezing was fine, although 50p each, perhaps a little much, when you need 4 or 5.

Attached farm was nice, although a small kids playground within the park, rather than in the farm (chargeable) would be great.

All in all, very pleased. Clean, tidy, helpful polite, but a few more 'facilities' are perhaps needed in future plans.

Good access to local amenities

The Beehive was recommended to us by a friend and we weren't disappointed.

First impressions count as they always say and we weren't let down, the friendly staff and warm welcoming said it all really. We were informed where our pitch was with clear instructions and told that the only thing we need to worry about was not to let the kids go round the big pond unaccompanied, a fair and sensible comment.

The pitch was spacious and easily marked out and the field was level and very large, there were some nice walks around the pond with some nice little walks in the woods.

The local co-op was about a 10-15 minute walk and the local pub even closer, this seemed to to meals etc but we didn't go in, just saw the boards outside, it did look nice though.

The owner was extremely friendly and they couldn't really do enough for you, the one plus side, if you look at it positively, the warden was regularly patrolling the areas around the lakes and the site, but wasn't intrusive and over the top with it.

We heard one customer with a complaint, I believe it was to do with the people next to them and the site owners dealt with her issues straight away and handled the situation positively and professionally.

The site owner has a log term plan and this included doing the toilets and showers up next season, they were adequate, clean and modern, but only two of each, we didn't have to queue at any time but I could imagine you would have to when it was busy.

We will be returning soon without a doubt.

We really enjoyed our stay here and have booked again. We had serviced pitches on the large grass field. Children could happily play on the large field, dogs all on leads.

For families, it would be nice if access to the play area in the small farm was free to campers. Or pay once and be able to come back over the period of the stay.

Showers and toilet blocks were adequate. Might be a problem if busier. Walks round the lake, small farm area, shop and coffee shop were all a lovely addition.

Local village pub great, fabulous butchers shop in next village down. Great place, nice atmosphere.

We arrived just before 7pm and the friendly receptionist checked us in.

There is a lovely open field with hookups to the left and a smaller sheltered area to the right where we was pitch 8. This area is almost entirely gravelled over and looks like a carpark. It would be nicer if it was just a gravel road with hard standings running off.

Fortunately we were on a better pitch right in the corner which was nice grass, I'd be disappointed to pay extra for the hardstanding pitches.

As soon as we parked the caravan our son who's 10 got his football out of the boot and was immediately told off by the warden as ball games are not allowed. We were told he will have to go to the other field (which makes sense) but he can not go unaccompanied?

The site is ok with two loos and two showers. There are some lovely walks.

Personally, I think this site is more suited to couples who want peace and quiet rather than families. There is no play area.

It is very expensive compared to far better sites £23 for van, hookup, awning and two kids. Even more for the hardstanding carpark type area which is not nice.

If you book with a family go in the main field to the left its far better.

My husband and I visited this site at the end of October for a 2 night stay. We picked it because it was close to Rosliston Forestry centre, which was a lovely walk round on the Saturday and we went back at night for the fireworks display.

The site itself is adequate. The toilet facilities were ok, but not the best I have seen. They were not heated, but plenty of hot running water.

There were only 3 people on the site, which made it very peaceful. I wouldn't want to visit when it is busy as there are only 2 showers and 3 toilets.

The on-site cafe was lovely and the breakfast was very nice.

There is a little gift shop on site and basic groceries available from the reception.

The village is less than 1/2 mile away with two pubs. We had a drink in the Bulls Head, which seemed a nice pub and planned on going back there in the evening for food, but the manager didn't tell us he didn't serve food in the evening. We ended up eating in the Plough Inn and the food wasn't brilliant, they had a large portion because it was piled high with chips.

All in all, the site is in an excellent location, but I'm not sure it is for us.

This was our fist time as a caravanning family and I don't think we could have had a better place recommended.

The pitch had electric and was on the edge of a huge field in which the children could meet new friend and play. The family shower rooms were a good idea although if you had 2 children and an adult the water ran out quick. (50p) there were free showers which were compact but clean toilets too.

They have a small farm to visit at an extra cost, this had a small play area inside, (that's what was missing in an area of the field).

A walk around the fishing lakes were nice if you didn't want to go far.

The village had a pub and a large shop/post office.

Fantastic place to visit was Roliston Forestry Centre, head into the village past the shop then walk up the side of the church yard, around the edge of a farmers field and your there, lots to explore.( good information at reception)

Came here with my sisters family as they had been before. Trying out a new tent and equipment that I had bought for our family before the main holiday. My little boy loved it with lots of space in front of tent to run around with his cousins.
Had an electric hook up but had to book early for the bank holiday weekend as limited number of hook up sites. Everywhere was very clean and some of the toilets looked new. A very relaxing bank holiday weekend was had by all all though a little bit pricey but maybe that was a bank holiday price, I am not too sure as my sister did all the bookings but would definitely go again.

Brilliant place to go with kids. Large grassy areas for football or kite playing, lots of walks, fishing lake which you can walk around and watch and a small animal farm on site.

Toilets and showers were probably the best I have come across. Free in the gents/ladies and very clean. There are 2 family rooms with shower, toilet, hairdryer etc so you can wash several children at any one time. Showers and hair dryer cost 50p in this facility.

On site there is the small animal farm, fishing lake , shop for very basics and a very pleasant tea rooms . Within a couple of miles there is a forestry commission site with big outdoor play areas , cafe and other explore areas for the kids. Within a small car journey you will find conkers and drayton manor.

I can understand the gripes from other reviewers about costs however if you take into account the free showers which are charged for at most places then this site is in line with most others.

Would we go back? - already booked in for next weekend!
