We are regular visitors to this camp site, we vist at least 3 times a year and are very happy with all aspects of this friendly run site. We would recommend this site to anyone. It is nice and quiet, and clean. There are walks and fishing available if this takes your fancy.

July 2005 Busy weekend at end of July 2005. Nice big flat field. allowed to pitch anywhere. plenty of room and lots of walks on site. Tiny shop that didn't sell any kind of cups / beakers (the only things that I had forgotten to pack!). No children's play area except for the tiny one in the childrens farm that you had to pay to go in but plenty of room for football / kites etc. on the field. Chickens were great roaming free - from tent to tent looking for bits of food! Ladies toilets and wash rooms were very clean and inviting , all non smoking which is much better and fresher smelling - nice hot water and soap. Showers looked good and they were free, only criticism is that there were only two ladies loos so there was frequently a queue and the loo rolls would run out by teatime - I always take a supply for this occasion! In all most enjoyable - no pressure to leave at a certain time. Would definitely go again.

August 2005 Had great time here over bank holiday weekend. Toilets / showers were spotless at all times of the day, although trying to get a warm shower was a pain due to it running cold by 8am and again in the evening. When we got there at 6.45am they were REALLY hot, too hot for the kids! Can`t have it all I suppose! Loads of room for the kids to play ball etc. Our `neighbours` said the tea rooms did good food but we didn`t get to try it out. All in all we would definitely go again it was a bargain, and we all like a bargain (dont we girls)!

May 2005 Thankyou for a lovely weekend,va quiet tranquil site close to home for us. Lots to do being the outdoor type, cycled around the site. Our 7yr old loved it, lots of wide open spaces, animal farm, cafe & amenities although small gave the site a warm friendly feel to it. Recommended it to friends who repeated the same feelings. Nice pub just down the road & small shop to cater for your needs.

August 2005 This is a marvellous camp site. The people who run it are friendly and welcoming and it has a huge flat field for camping on.
When we arrived we were told we could take our pick of the pitches, but were advised that there was an adults only area at the far end that was nice and quiet - we chose to go down there and it was! We'd met up with some friends and apart from us there was only one other tent at on this part of the site, meaning it was great to chill out and kick back watching the rabbits and hens wander around the place.
Although we had a lot of rain over the weekend, the site took it well and the ground remained firm under foot with no access problems in the car.
The cafe is superb too - good job there are those woodland walks to burn off those breakfasts!
The only downside are the toilets / showers, as has been previously mentioned. One cubicle and two urinals for the men (and two cubicles in the ladies, so I'm told)means that there is often a queue. It was fairly quiet when we were there (probably due to the weather) but I dread to think what it would be like on a busy weekend.
Same story for the showers too, unfortuantely with just two unisex showers for the whole site.
Apart from this, there is everything to recommend a visit here

August 2005 A lovely quiet campsite in the middle of nowhere ideal for couples with small children. Small co-op and only 1 was with hot water small moans really. Nothing to do for teenagers on site but our 2 year old had great time as Chickens and Peacocks are roaming free. The farm yard animals and play area were great. There are fishing lakes on site although we were assured was well stocked didn't catch much but that could of been the weather. There was a Foresty centre about 2 miles away that was free and great for all ages ideal for picnic and walking. Chemical toilet wasn't the best I had seen but had hose to wash out toilet and wastemaster. Tents could pitch next to touring vans. Good drainage and level pitches. Two pubs in walking distance that do food but never tried pubs out. Friendly owners will go back as we only live 30 miles away. Lanes are tricky coming through village but not impossible being a newbie at towing.

July 2005 Lovely camp site field, if you don't want electric hook up. The part with hook-ups was very crowded - not a lot of space between caravans on the gravelled area. Toilets totally inadequate - 1 mens...... with all those campers!!!!! Overall very clean and a nice site. Love the rabbits and chickens roaming free, grandaughter wanted to take them home.

July 2005 Been to this site before and still as good as last time, Now has a few hard standings and also has free range chickens AND rabbits that visit your pitch at various times of day. Again a nice clean well set out site, but could just do with another amenity block as when it's busy there can be a queue. Definately worth a visit

May 2005 Had our very first night camping here, it was great! Nice folks at reception gave us a choice of pitch in a very large and flat field. After a struggle getting the tent up in a warm but stiff breeze we eventually pitched up about two pitches up from where we'd started but as there was plenty of space, what the heck it was up anyway, so we pegged down. The site is enormous, with really good dog walks taking in a few small lakes en route.
Separate walks for non dog walkers but I didn’t get to try those as my dog just loved the dog walks. Picnic benches dotted around came in handy as we don’t have much kit yet. Didn’t try the shop or cafe as it was just the one night there. Kids farm is nice with a good selection of birds and animals, the play area is very small and my 3yr old was not impressed, it cost to get in so don’t go if you only want the play area. The Forestry Centre a mile or so from the site as a great play area, suitable for kids of all ages and some nice walks too.
As stated toilet/showers very clean but limited, didn’t matter to us as wasn’t that busy during our stay.
Will definitely be going again, nice folks, good site and a very happy wife kids and dog!

June 2005 Beehive Farm. We went for a weekend (June 17-19. 05) and the weather was superb, it’s was hard to believe we were only 4-5 miles away from Burton.
The campsite itself is lovely especially the touring field, loads of space to roam around in and the children loved the small animal farm, the entrance fee of just £1.00 for children and £2.00 for adults is very good.
We have a few minor niggles, there are not enough toilets or showers (these were freezing cold when we used them and a massive queue), also the prices, it seems you pay the same price whether you have electric hook up or not. We tried to book an electric pitch but were informed they were fully booked, yet over the weekend at least 3 were unused (possible people booking and not turning up.. abusing the trusting owners who only take payment upon arrival).
Despite these few things we would go back as it is nice. (Not on a main holiday weekend though) Rob & Jo
