We stayed here with friends for two nights, the site is kept well and the security is good. The toilets are clean but very small, only two loo’s two hand basins, not good when site is busy.
My only complaint is the cost these site facilities do not warrant £27 per night £2 for children, if they want to use the play frame that’s in the very small farm area that’s another £2 per adult and £1 for each child. There are no dog walks where you can let your dog have a run if you’re paying £2 for the dog this is the least I would expect.
All in all if the site was one reasonable price with no little extras the site would be full and I would return on a regular basis

Have just stayed here with another set of friends - both of us in caravans. We were on the field with EHU. Would have been even more expensive if on hard standing.
Site very clean and tidy. Washing facilities fine - can't understand why have to pay for showers in family rooms but not in main toilets. Seems a bit mean considering the cost.
The cost is the main complaint. It cost us £27.00 in the end for each night. £16.00 for the van and adults, £2.00 each for our three kids (4, 6 and 8), £2.Oo for the dog and £3.00 for the awning. This didn't evene include a visit to the farm! That would have been extra. I said to the owner it seemed very expensive and his answer was it was going up again next year.
Restricted as to where the dog could walk - couldn't go round the lake with it.
Other thing - for a site in the National Forest - no recycling facilities - everything just dumped in one big skip.
Wouldn't go again due to cost. Maybe a family saver would be an idea?

What a fantastic site, clean, well maintained and large pitches. Had ehu, good job as my khyam windsor buckled on 2 poles but my parents came to the rescue with there caravan and Alistair didn't charge us any extra. Local pubs very good and most welcome. Conkers adventure park only 15mins away. Will definitely use this site again (if they get rid of percy the peacock)

Just visited here for a short weekend break. The site is a great site if you are a fisherman, but just as nice if not due to the local walks in the area.
For the shoppers its not far from Burton-on-Trent or Lichfield and its close to the National War Memorial Aboretum.
The site is clean tidy and well maintained and has both hard standing and grassed areas for EHU or a huge grassed area for non EHU.
It's not the easiest site to find, but well worth the trouble when you get there.
There is a Co-Op shop just down the road with a Pub almost opposite.
The site shop sells the basics and there is a cafe/tea room on site as well.
There is also a little Pet's Corner behind the Reception Office but due to no kids we did not visit this.
It has one set of facilities by reception which means a bit of a walk from the far end, but there are taps around the site.
The site is a little dear, but we will use it again.

Just returned from a really lovely weekend at this site.
It was a quiet site. We went as a group, 10 adults 9 children on 5 elec hook up pitches and we had a fab time. It was very clean and tidy, and the staff were lovely. The pitches are huge, we have a Vermont XL and we could have probably got 2 tents and a car onto our pitch.
There is a small farm on site with a playground for the kids (we didn't go, but our friends did, they said it was quite small and a bit pricey - £2 adults, £1 kids I think). This is the only entertainment for the kids on the site. But ours had a brilliant time jut playing with each other and exploring some of the woodland walks together.
Toilets were clean, not many though, ladies had 3 toilets and 2 showers, but there are also 2 family shower rooms (50p charge for these). Never had to queue to use these facilities though.
The Honey pot cafe on site did lovely food and was very popular with campers and outside visitors alike.
Perhaps a little pricey for a basic site, we paid £21 a night for a tent with electric for 3 toddlers and 2 adults.
Overall, a very pleasant stay though, would definitely recommend to friends and I'm sure we'll be back there soon.

Camped here for two nights back in May last year. Nice setting, close to Rosliston Forestry Centre.
No EHU in our field. Seemed expensive at the time at £18 a night, (2 adults, 1 child).
Didn't visit the on-site animals in the farm attraction as there was a cost - maybe this
Could be free for people staying on the camp site as this is the only entertainment for the
Kids? Other than the big expanse of space in the middle of the field we were pitched in, (first one on the left as you arrive). This was a large enough space to have games of footy, fly kites etc.
On site shop sold very basic essentials.
Clean and tidy site, no litter. Some lovely walks in the surrounding area.

We visited this site during the School half term, on arriving at the site we were made welcome by the owner Alistair. I have to say on arrival my first thoughts weren't very good but giving the site a good look over I have to say it was all worth it in the end. Toilet and showers were very good, the site very clean and a very good dog walk, basic bits in the shop.
We spent a lot of our time in Burton on Trent wonderful shopping area.

We stayed here for the third time but the first since the new facilities have been installed and what a difference they made! There are separate male and female blocks nearer to the campsite, each with toilets and two new showers. An adjacent block provides pot washing facilities and two family rooms with shower, toilet and sink. There showers cost 50p but last for ever!
The camp site has been fenced off to separate the campsite and rally field. This also restricts access to the lake, but a short walk round to the gates brings you to to the lakeside. Dogs are not allowed round the lakes which is good for fishermen but not walkers! However there are plenty of forest trails to explore.
The site shop stocks basics; there is a gift/card shop and a cafe that does an excellent value breakfast. There is a co-op and two pubs within walking distance in the village, and Burton Upon Trent is a short drive away.
We camped as an owners group: Alistair the owner was very helpful and made us very welcome. We will definitely return.

We had a great time here. Site very well maintained, Bathrooms spotless, We were put on the bottom field with electric hook-up. We had two kids (8&3) and I felt safe and comfortable letting the 3 years old out to play without too much concern. Nice walks around the ponds if you wanted. Would recommend as a base for nearby attractions. We will definitely be back.

We were new to the area and were delighted by the number of interesting places to visit, including Burton on Trent. The site itself is well worth walking round, as it offers plenty of space and some beautiful woodland.
The local village catered for all your daily needs and the nearest pub does an excellent Sunday lunch
The site staff were pleasant and helpful and the site seemed to attract families and older couples, especially those interested in fishing.
The on site facilities were adequate but you can be kept waiting early morning on busy weekends.
Would stay there again
