We stayed here last year several times (not high season though). The site is generally very flat and nicely grassed but the site is in a terrific location. Nice owners, offer a small shop that does breakfast sandwiches when site is busy.
Toilets etc were clean and functional. At least the washing up area has nice big sinks. The showers are functional but can't say we've been when it was busy.
Lots of nearby pubs etc. In Castleton, Buxton quite near as well. Plenty to do as well as great walking country.
One issue (& not just for this site) is that sites who have a noise policy seem happy to accept rowdy teenagers on DoE expeditions. Fine if you chose to do so - it is your business, but PLEASE PLEASE do site them away from families, especially those with young kids. Also it's fine having a noise policy but if it is not enforced at all there is no point! We had a miserable experience with a group from a very expensive private school last year and so far this year has put us off returning.
Farm entrance is at: 53. 34083333, -1. 811111111

Really nice campsite. First visit to this one in Edale. Was very windy night but wasn't a problem, what do you expect in April.
Nice and flat and found a space no problem, even with it being a bank holiday. Rebooked again for next holiday in May.
Was a little difficult to find as we followed sat nav which took us to a dead end. There's a junction off left going up a very steep hill go up to top and turn left and there is a sign

Just spent the bank holiday weekend here. Absolutely lovely campsite, lovely field - flat ish!
slightly undulating my other half says, clean toilets always stocked with toilet roll, two showers - one each male and female, a separate room to wash your pots - always stocked with washing up liquid, cloths and tea towels.
Lovely spot overlooking Mam Tor. A couple of miles out of castleton up a very steep hill. Beautiful walks all around.
Don't follow sat nav directions with post code as you will get lost! - web site tells you this I think - where it says campsite is just off B6061 - you will be at a T junction with b6061 right and left, turn Left and campsite is a short distance on the left.
I'm a female novice camper who is only tentatively just trying camping and I would happily go here again.

Owners were very friendly. Well sign posted to the farm from Castleton. Liked being able to pitch up where we wanted. Beautiful surroundings. Facilities were basic but that whats camping is about. :) Handy to have a small shop on site servings light refreshments. Nothing really near by shop/pub wise if you are walking but its still nice. Not expensive to stay and lovely for sun bathing in the day time. Only real downside is that the SatNav doesn't take you to the right place but when you ring up they tell you.
Will definitely be visiting again.

The site was situated in a nice area with beautiful surroundings. We did find the campsite very difficult to find, if you follow Sat Nav directions will lead you to a dead end. The owners were very helpful with directions, so ring them if you get lost.
The facilities are very basic, ok if your just staying over night. The owners did keep the showers and toilets clean. No mater what time of day, there was always a queue of campers waiting to use the toilets.
The field itself was ok, found it easy to pitch. Basically you can pitch anywhere you choose, didn't seem to be well organised.
It was very busy during our stay, and even though there was a sign stating no noise after 10pm, a group of youths were playing loud music till late.

Arrived at this site after being sent down the wrong farm track by SatNav! The site is further outside Castleton than maps suggest. It is out of Castleton, left, past Speedwell Cavern and a bit further!
We were told to pitch our tent anywhere in the field, dodge the sheep poo!
Site became very busy on the Saturday with groups of teenagers arriving. This proved a strain on the facilities with only 2 toilets for ladies and one shower. I queued for a good ten minutes for the loo to find it didn't flush anyway!
Showers/toilets situated in the farmyard with a couple of kittens roaming around to aww at!
Showers were 50p for probably only about 3/4 minutes, I had to put another 50p in!
Farmhouse has a small shop with essentials such as eggs, milk, BBQs.
Ideally situated for walkers.
Overall a nice enough site with the bare essentials but not much more than than. Ok for a couple of nights but not for a long stay.

We were also there last weekend, and as the review below - fantastic site with lovely views and easy access to walks etc - but definitely in need of a toilet update.
I am a basic camper and I will rough it along with the best. But when the toilet roll runs out, there is leakage on the floor and 6 people waiting for you to finish your wee.Just in need of a timely upgrade.
I will definitely stay here again, you cannot beat standing on top of mam tor at 6.00am !

Perfect campsite for an overnight stop if walking or visiting the area. Lots of great walking routes from the site without having to use the car. Limestone way and Mam Tor both easy to get to. Also a 30 min walk into Castleton but it’s very steep.
Campsite itself has very basic facilities, 1 shower and 2 toilets for ladies and only 1 toilet and shower for the gents. Considering how many people were camping (very busy, loads of large groups) this was no where near enough and there was always a long queue. Needless to say they could not keep up with loo roll or hand towels which were always running out. Toilets would not flush either unless you were first in !
However it only cost us £10 for two adults, a dog and car for 1 night, location is beautiful and site had a good lively atmosphere. We would return but only for an overnight stop.

Great location high on a hillside above Castleton but the limited and basic facilities can not cope with the numbers at weekends.
We booked in on Friday afternoon and found plenty of space to choose from around the perimeter of a large and fairly flat field. The facilities are basic and include one gents loo, one shower and one washing up sink. This is fine for three-quarters of a field full of tents. On Saturday when we came back from our walk, the field was full and they'd opened an adjacent large field, which was also pretty full.
Obviously, the facilities were totally inadequate for so many people. There were also several large groups of lads as well as unsupervised teenagers, many of whom were drinking and making lots of noise into the early hours.
