Brilliant night at Rowter - looking at the views and listening to the sheep.
Loved our evening walk up Mam Tor which is so close to the site which is also convenient for castleton.
The site was quiet and well maintained; the facilities were clean and plentiful for the number of people camping.
Very good value for money.

This place is just the ticket for camping. Friendly helpful hosts, clean toilets and showers, and plenty of hot water for washing up.
Being a working farm, mostly sheep, you are back to nature. Location is just great with views over to Mam Tor behind a windbreak of trees.
Would I recommend this campsite to anyone else? Yes I would.

Rowter is a fab campsite - free-range park-up with good clean facilities near the site entrance. Hot water and soft loo paper - makes all the difference! Little farm shop (milk n eggs etc) also available.
Beautiful views on top of the limestone plateau above castleton in nearly all directions and loads of space.
Haven't rated it for child friendliness as haven't got kids, but those there seemed pretty happy.
Been a few times and will always go back. X

Excellent campsite with good facilities. Absolutely amazing views and area.
Website does need updating with directions to find etc though.
Would definitely stay again and recommend.
Thank you

Router farm was the most wonderful place,
Beautiful big uncrowded field,
Fresh farm eggs for purchase,
Toilets and showers in the farm courtyard.
We had such a wonderful stay, thank you!

This is friendly low-stress site, with a gorgeous massive sky above castleton. The facilities are practical and simple, with running hot water for washing up.
Delicious duck eggs at reception too. We visited some local caves, and there is loads of walking routes and activities, cafes, pubs. Basically it's great.
I was with my 1 year old this time and I felt safe. With. Him pottering around the site as it is kept clean and clear and flat.

Rowter Farm campsite is very good when it's quiet. We arrived on a Thursday and enjoyed a peaceful stay, albeit woken up early by a DoE group, but no real problems.
On the Friday however it was a different matter, the site was very busy and a group of lads on a stag do set up next to us. The group were very polite (and even invited us to have a few drinks), unfortunately they were very loud until 1. 00am when we assume someone asked them to stop.
It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves on the stag do but they really needed a remote corner to themselves. Would go again but probably only mid week.
Only one shower for men and one for women so insufficient when busy.

Surrounding area is beautiful. Its a working farm so it's noisy. 6:30am-10pm.
Expect DoE groups. Price online said £6pppn. Was £7.50 plus £1 to shower which is robbery, any other place is 20p or 50p max but most are free.
Toilets/showers clean but it's hard work getting you toilet to flush.
I'd only return out of desperate measures.

Always happy to stay at Rowter Farm.
Simple, clean and good location and excellent Value for money.
Can get windy and cold on an evening, even on a hot day.

Enjoyed a weekend away at rowter kid free, easy to find. Really nice place, shower and toilet block clean and not far from campsite.
Shop at the house reasonable priced. Not to far from hope and castleton, great if you like a walk.
There was a few playing music but nothing that kept us awake at night or was a nuisance.
Only negative for me was I’m a wimp and couldn’t go to the toilet when chickens were running free 😂
Plan to return with the kids for another weekend next year now. Cheers x
