Had a very pleasant 5 night stay at Blue Bell Farm with my husband and daughter.
The shower/toilet block has been refurbished ready for the 2011 season and are cleaned regularly throughout the day. The showers are free as is the electricity in the shower block so ladies can still take their hairdryers, straighteners etc and use them free of charge.
My daughter really enjoyed helping out with the horses, hens etc on the farm and was rewarded with free horse rides.
Any gripes that people had were dealt with professionally and quickly.
Showers are free, which is a big bonus when you are staying as a family, you have to time you shower (ladies only) with care because if people are washing up then the hot water to the ladies shower stops, but this is only a small glitch in an otherwise really nice site.
People have to remember that this site is actually cheaper than some sites that have no facilities at all, we paid £7.50/night (June Special, usually £10/night) and if you are effectively paying Youth Hostel prices you should not expect a Ritz style set up.
There are lots of lovely sandy beaches nearby ranging from the very quite to the very commercial and busy resorts.
Would definitely recommend this site for a cheap and cheerful break and will return at some point.

My first camping holiday, just got bk from a 3 night stay at bluebell farm and we really enjoyed our stay. The site is nice and quiet, very secure. My little boys enjoyed running round and looking at the animals.
The warden was really helpful, charged my mobile phone and froze our ice-packs for us for free!
This is a perfect site if you want a nice relaxing trip where the entertainment is close enough by car but not close enough that its annoying. It is literally 5 mins from beach and 10 mins from ingoldmells market!
We will definitely be going bk in july for a little get away.

Very friendly and helpful staff both when phoning for availability, and arrival. We were told that free pony rides were available, but it seems the person responsible for this was away, so my 2 young daughters missed out. This was perhaps a little disappointing, as this was the main reason we booked. However really we only booked for one night arriving late afternoon and leaving mid morning (told officially we should vacate by 10am, but as the site was not particularly busy that mid-week, we could leave a bit later if necessary). The site did seem to cater for horses/ponies, as small stables were present, and riding fields adjoined with small jumping fences. We were allowed to pick our own pitch. This was especially important as we used a 4 berth small tent. And areas of the site sloped a little in places, so we needed to orientate the tent to avoid sleeping feet higher than our heads! However the camping field was very well kept, nicely lawned, no rubbish/litter, and good firm ground for tent pegs. The toilet/shower blocks were small but very clean. These were perhaps recently refurbished as looked better than that described reading the reviews of last year. Gents had 1 sink, 1 toilet, 1 shower plus chair, no urinal, shaver sockets, mirrors, and a window overlooking the horse field! Ladies had 1 sink, 2 toilets, 1 shower but no chair, mirrors. Gents sink seemed to be blocked as water drained away slowly. I should have reported this but forgot. Both showers were good, plenty of hooks to hang up clothing/towel, but water temperature was difficult to control, needing to adjust manually the hot and cold water separately and was affected by hot water demand elsewhere. 2 Outdoor dishwashing sinks. Even though the campsite was roughly 1/3 full we didn’t need to queue for shower/toilets, but maybe we were lucky, or perhaps other users preferred their own facilities. Beach was about 2. 5miles away, and as there are no nearby amenities, the on site small shop (opened on demand) was welcome, stocked with some food basics, as well as other “bits ’n’ pieces” e. G. Souvenirs, stationary, clothing. We needed milk (UHT only available) and matches, but there was no bread stocked. Some ice-cream but again limited choices, although much of this consisted of locally produced ice-cream in small single portion tubs (£1. 40). No children play area, but our and other kids did explore a rather rough stony area with nettles at the rear of the site. We had to stop our girls climbing onto what looked like a large roof like dog climbing frame! We still had plenty of room to play with a Frisbee on the camping field as it was not full. No nuisance insects at all, but we had dry weather. Although in our experience this does look like a site that is unlikely to suffer seriously from this problem.
Overall we were pleased with our stay, and would come again for a longer visit to make sure our kids get a chance to ride a pony or two! Also a very reasonable fee (1 night £12 for a family of 4 with car and tent) reflects well this limited facility but pleasantly quiet site.

I hardly dare leave a good review in case the site gets so busy we cant get on. This site is proper camping and back to basics but its just perfect for a family break and teaches kids to be self sufficient. There are many home comforts but an effort needs to be made to get out and about entertain the family, but what a brill site for all this and many more basics of camping to educate the family. We usually visit as a. Group and have found the site more than accommodating. The location seems a little remote but with a bus route close by and cheap taxi service available everywhere is close by.

A lovely basic campsite, with chickens, ponies, dogs and friendly people. Our 4 year old was given a free pony ride and it made her day! This is the type of campsite where you sit back and drink the wine while the kids run and play and laugh and scream, and sleep for England come 10pm!
Showers/toilets were pretty grim, in an old shed thing, but that doesn't bother me at all. Dont go if you want clean tiles and spotless loos! You may well share your shower with several creatures with 6 or 8 legs! I believe there was a freezer available, and a toaster and microwave.

We spent 1 night as a family of 5, our oldest 2 (5~6) loved the site they ran off to see the stables and chickens.
It is basic, like what has been said already, basic shower and toilet block, clean ish but very old and worn but as we were there for 1 night it wasn't a problem.
The shop stocked a few bits you may need ie ind. Tea bags,UHT milk, cans of beans, biscuits and pop. Ideal if you have a horse, as lots of equine items for sale.
The barn was handy with kettle and microwave, also a few local take away menus and tourist leaflets.
Skegness is easy to get to down 1 road. We went to the pub in Mumby, The Red Lion, food was alight but not brilliant.
Overall though it is a nice place and we will return again, it's not your all singing and dancing place,it's peaceful and safe and we enjoyed ourselves.
Maybe if they upgraded the toilet and shower block, and added play equipment for children it would put my ratings up to a strong 9 out of 10

First mistake was booked for 2 nights, was not impressed, was met by the owner on arrival. The sign read 'gents toilets and showers', but there was only one of each and with a fairly full camp there was a queue to use them,
When I did get in the shower, I lost the hot water when someone was washing pots next door. The whole block was like a run down shack complete with cobwebs and useless shower curtain. The 2 extra toilets in the next field were of the portable loo type and were not nice to use.
For £12 a night for 2 adults we will not return, while the showers were free as was the use of kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer it all needed a good clean and revamp
Once we booked in we did not see the owner at anytime. When we left the big bin for rubbish was overflowing and chickens were pecking at overspill.

Having just returned from 3 days at bluebell farm I would like to say that I think the site in general is very reasonable. The two youngest children enjoyed the ride on the ponies. The pitch size was very spacious for our tent & car.
Anderby creek is just a short drive down the road & is an excellent beach & not overcrowded. Mablethorpe, Ingoldmells & skegness are all around 30 mins drive away which we found ideal. The red lion pub at Mumby served decent food though when there are a few of you like in our case it can be costly.
We never used the small shop in anderby creek but we got all our items from mablethorpe. The on site showers were very basic with just 1 toilet, hand basin & shower unit for males & the same for the ladies. We had the use of a couple of portaloos as another option which to my surprise were quite clean.
Travelled to nearby chapel st leonards for a day out & were very disappointed as it seemed more like it catered mostly for the much older generation. Almost like being in a time warp.
I suppose to summarise I would give bluebell farm a respectable 8.5 out of 10 for locality & friendliness of the site owners who were more than willing to help with any queries I had. I would & will return there again. I also would recommend to other users.
I think the addition of a childs play area would be a great asset to the site & was very pleased to know dogs were welcome.

Stayed 3 nights with our family of 5 and really enjoyed it, nice and friendly, a lovely site away from all the hustle and bustle. Normally only 1 male and 1 female toilet and shower but there were 2 extra toilets as peak season which were definitely needed.
Pot cleaning area with 2 sinks. Also a barn with fridge, freezer and kettle all free to use. Shop on site mainly sells horsey gear but with some basics and icecreams.
Children loved the pony rides which were also free. Beautiful beach at Anderby Creek approx 2 miles away with free carpark and toilets, Cafe nearby.
Some may say site a bit basic, but great for real campers and very reasonably priced if your on a budget. Will definitely return again, children can't wait neither can we!

Just returned from a 8 day holiday myself husband and 3 daughters we had a fantastic time the owners couldn't of been more helpful or friendly. The site is basic but value for money and away from all the hustle of skegness !
It offers you what you need a toilet (seen owners cleaning them several times a day)a shower, pot washing area, waste disposal point, electric hook ups and a kitchen area with kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge and freezer all free to use this was nice and clean and was told that all pitches were levelled over winter.
There is also horses, chickens and sheep,my daughters were even allowed to ride at no cost. Beaches close by were very nice. We will be going back to this site again great place for real campers.
The site also has a equestrian shop for horsey people. Nice clean friendly site cant wait to go back!
