This is a lovely campsite - well maintained and good facilities. The shop was well stocked and open frequently. The new shower & toilet block was a pleasure to use! The surrounding area has lots to offer - shops, pubs, etc etc.

The only downside was that there was a party in a marquee on the first night we stayed there and the extremely loud music went on until 3.30am. It wasn't a distant thud, thud but every awful song was fully audible as were the shrieks and shouts of the revellers.

We camped here over the spring bank holiday weekend at the last minute as all other sites were booked and Colin was brilliant at fitting us in last minute as we had 6 tents between us.

There was a Braai (think that's what its called apologies if not) in the next field with a small marque with South African's getting together that was very entertaining. We were in the next field and could clearly hear the singing till the early hours but it was very pleasant and added to our own social gathering.

It was so good my husband and I chose to stay on for the week and fish. The fishing is the best we have ever had and we would highly recommend bringing your fishing gear. Colin and Sharon were fantastic at accommodating everyone, very friendly and the site is brilliant. Colin and Sharon have further plans for improvements and as we now intend to visit regularly we wait with baited breath to see how they can improve this fantastic site further.

We stayed here for a 10 days over the Easter break and it is without a doubt the best caravan / camping site we have visited. The grounds are kept to a very high standard, very good pitch sizes with all brand new hookup points.

They have just opened a brand new shower block which can only be described as five star hotel quality.

There are many pitches to choose from in different areas. We chose the far field with the fishing lakes only a 20 yards away.

It could be seen the staff work all round the clock to maintain this lovely holiday park. We will definitely return here (in fact going this bank holiday) and would recommend it to others.

The Harrington arms does lovely food and great guest ales, while there are lovely walks in the local castle grounds just over the road.

We Have just spent our Easter Weekend at Beechwood Park Derbyshire after it was recommended by a friend. The weather was as expected Poor! But that's the only bad news!

Beechwood Park itself is very nice and was well worth the trip from Manchester! If you like Fishing as I do then you will love it! The Kids were kept busy with the Go Kart Track! And the Wife was very impressed with what looked like the pretty new and super clean Shower Facilities!

There is plenty to do on site! But I would suggest its worth a walk out into the grounds of nearby Elvaston Castle as well.

It's been exactly 2 years since we last stayed at Beechwood Park and we couldn't believe the changes! Having booked in for Easter to enjoy the tranquillity and some fishing, the changes were evident from the moment we entered the Park.

2 more lakes had been added, there were now 12 fabulous looking Lodges, a new Caravanning field with 60 Electric points and lighting around the Park made it look brilliant. However, the icing on the cake was a brand new Toilet / Shower block that was so well appointed, it wouldn't have looked out of place in a 5 star Hotel!

Congratulations to owners who obviously haven't rested on their laurels. Their recommendation of a meal in the local Harrington Arms was a hit too.

We'll be back before the end of the Summer!

Booked into Beechwood for a break over the Xmas period. Was very impressed with the site layout and general facilities. The Toilet Block was adequately equipped and spotlessly clean. The Elsan and water points were well positioned on a central roundabout. It looks as if there's a new Toilet/Shower block under construction and this will certainly add even more to what already looks a little gem of a site.

Although we stayed in a Touring Caravan, there is a 'village' of Log Cabins that looked absolutely fabulous.

We will be back in the Summer to do some fishing on one of the 5 on site lakes. Our only dilemma is whether to bring the Caravan or book one of the Lodges.

Just returned from this site, stayed 3 nights, mostly found this site just as previous reviewers have stated. The main problem was the toilet block, not enough showers and toilets and quite a walk in the cold if you are on the top field, which we where, but as previously stated this problem should be rectified shortly when the new toilet block opens.
We went mainly for the fishing and my husband and son were not disappointed, they caught some good size fish and they would definitely return again, but I think we will wait until the new toilet block is open. The site does seem to have quite a few old caravans on site, which do look very scruffy in places.

We stayed here for a 2 night break with a group of adults and children in 3 tents. When we booked we had explained we had a large 4 bed tent which they said they could house but on arrival found the pitch too small and had to have all guy ropes overlapping. We squeezed into a corner plot near the main entrance road and our 4th bedroom almost on top of the waste disposal! The only other pitch left was right near the toilets which on inspection had rather a lot of dog mess on the grass. This said, it did look like the caravan pitches were reasonable.
There was nothing really for the children to do but we did have a good time due to the people we camped with. The showers are free but at peak times had to queue and the toilets kept clean. Overall we will not be visiting again.

Had booked here for 2 nights. Only 2 tents in the field we were in so had lots of space. Go-karts good fun but bear in mind these only operate at weekends. Site looks a bit like a caravan graveyard , lots of vans around looked like they'd been there for ever.
Ladies toilets not very clean and only 1 out of 3 had locks. Mens toilets flooded when we were there.Late one night following a loo break noticed that 1 of the 2 showers had soiled underpants / toilet roll / poo in the tray. No-one around to tell. Still like this in the morning.

Just got back from the Bank Hoilday weekend at Beechwood Park, with our two children.

We had a really good weekend, and found Colin the owner very approachable and accommodating to our needs.

The Park is quite large and we were positioned on the back field right next to the fishing lakes. Which was to my husbands delight, as he enjoys a good catch now and then.

This park has excellent fishing facilities for the keen angler and I am sure with over 100 swims available there is plenty of room for everyone.

The only down side to this park I could find was the shower blocks, although kept in excellent order there was just not enough showers to facilitate the whole campsite and you always found there was a queue. I know Colin is putting in a new Shower Block at present, I feel the sooner these are finished the better.

My Children particularly enjoyed the Go Karting on Saturday, and I found it to be very reasonably prices at £2.50 for 5 minutes.

My husband is already planning another fishing weekend away with our son, and friends, Lets hope the shower block will be finished.

Over the next couple of years this is going to be a very popular site as you can see the developments taking place, Make sure you book early.
