We have just returned from our second visit this year and once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is well cared for, Sharon and Colin the owners are very helpful and friendly and so are the campers. They are no restrictions on you coming and going and usually at their discretion and a small fee, you can stay a bit longer on day of departure. We do not like big impersonal sites so this one ticks all the boxes. The facilities for the size of the site are adequate and clean - if you do have a problem Sharon or Colin will be happy to sort it out. There is lots to do from the site too, plenty of walking and cycling. The local supermarket is just up the road at Borrowash. We are already planning our next visit!

Just had a very pleasant bank holiday weekend at Beechwood Park. Busier then when we went last year. And a few additions to the camp site. Individual heaters on the sinks and a bigger heater in the potwashing room. Two more of the cabins have been built to make five all together, for those who are in to fishing morep egs have been added (they were in the process of erecting these) and yet another large lake/pond has been dug. The go karts were going down a storm with the kids too. A lovely pair of nesting swans have taken up residence on the nearest pond to the entrance (not on swan lake its self though.) Elviston castle/show ground is 5 minuets walkaway and a pleasant stroll through the woods and it seems to have a large list of shows on for the summer weeks. Altogether a nice quite site run by a very nice couple Colin and Sharon.

We visited Beechwood Park last week with my family. We had a magnificent time. The site was very inviting, clean and friendly. Sharon & Colin the owners went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was our twins birthday and Monica and Joey both enjoyed their go-kart party. In fact they haven't stopped talking about it. All the facilites were well maintained- plenty of hot water and the showers were very clean. The setting was idyllic and very relaxing. We have booked to return again at Whit and all our family are really looking forward to going back

Visited over the Easter weekend. Friendly welcome and lovely well kept site. Toilet block one of the best we've come across. Several fishing lakes on site to pass the time and even a well stocked tackle shop on site! There was a small childrens Go Kart track which even though it was busy, was not noisy. The Country Park over the road and the village pub ade our stay even better! Have rebooked for August.

Not a bad site. Owner's are friendly, great go-kart's. Only thing which could do with is more toilets & shower's also needs paper towels to dry hands or a hand dryer. Other than that it is a nice little site. The weather was great

A group of us visited Beechwood on a small Easter break- away from the city, but when we got there we seemed just as frustrated. The park itself was very nice even if some of the facilities weren't up to scratch and the location was good enough for us to travel in and out of derby to visit some of the sites there.
However, they seem very strict. Although it may be alright for some you have to be back by a certain time which meant we were unable to go on our ghost walk at Derby Gaol. Our tents were also 'too far apart' and we got some hassle late in the evening.
Besides this we stuck through our camping holiday knowing there's plenty of activities to be done outside the park.

First impressions of this site were not good and unfortunately it didn't change.
The toilets and showers were dirty, the shower curtains were yuk! Dead flies, dirty tiles looked like snot caked on them. Bins were overflowing and waste disposal was a hole in ground! Everything had an unfinished feel about it. There were a lot of caravans there for salvage and others storage, hard to tell what was what really not pretty at all. There were three of the most gorgeous log cabins I have even seen there. (For some reason) these were empty which is surprising this time of year. Why they were there amongst all that I don't know.
I suppose a good thing about it is its location to Derby and East Midlands and thats about it. Also a shop on site which is never open!

Went to this park with my husband and 3 children. Its a great little park and the owners are real friendly only let down was it rained all weekend but that didn't stop me from re-booking again for a week for my birthday and wedding anniversary which is in July, Woke up 1 morning to the fantastic greeting of 2 very tame swans and a couple of chickens, The showers are very clean with lots of hot water and the toilets are also very clean great place I can't wait to go back again am so excited :D

Visited with friends for a long weekend and reckon must have been at a different site to previous reviews!! Site nothing like the leaflet picture and although tent pitches well kept and mowed, the site was full of caravans being stored which made it seem crammed. Overcharged all members of party but couldn't sort out as reception/shop seemed never to be open, so gave up!
No lighting at night which made walking to toilets hazardous.. paths/road potholed and uneven with large stones/rocks on the edges to trip over! Toilets/showers/potroom grubby and tired.. full of dead insects and not even sure they were cleaned whilst we were there. No hot water in sinks for either washing up or having a wash yourself.
Quiet site and walkable distance to Elvaston castle/country park which I'd recommend. Site itself looks like a junk yard on the approach

Visited this site over the Bank Holiday weekend and found it as the other reviewers. The site was very pleasant, lots of room and the washroom facilities were very clean. We had one noisy night over the weekend.
There was no playground but our children had a good time, lots of room to play and there is a huge country park near the site. Go carts on site (sat and sun only) were a huge success!
There is a very small shop on site, the village pub does food and there is an excellent supermarket in the next village (approx 5 minutes drive)
Slight negative point in the lack of hot water or a light in the dishwashing area. The camp site could use some more bins.
The welcome was very friendly and I would return to this site.
