We have just had a good weekend at Tattershall Country Park even though it was a bit wet. The showers were hot and the toilets were kept clean. The is plenty to do for the children and at a reasonable price too with activities held during the day. There is also cycle hire.
We walked into Tattershall and visited the Castle and the Medieval Church, then had a day out at East Kirkby to see the Lancaster Bomber. We only saw a couple of planes flying out of Conningsby and the noise wasn't bad.
We had one meal at the clubhouse which was reasonable and food was OK. They had the open air cinema on one night which was great.
We visited the Tattershall Park pub near the entrance of the site (not owned by site) and had to wait nearly two hours for our meal, then half of us didn't get anything. The landlord did all he could to accommodate us but in the end very poor service which I put down to inexperience and they had only been open 3 weeks.
All in all a great base with plenty to do for the children so we will be going back.

We have just returned from our first trip to Tattershall Lakes Country Park. The site was really good value for money and I would highly recommend it although it was a bit misleading when we arrived to check in as the area wasn't well sign posted.
The pitches were unfortunately water logged due to the amount of rain we have had over the last few weeks and was therefore slightly difficult to get on as the road was full off pot holes.
The shower and toilets were clean but we only saw one block of them and again were difficult to access due to the road and holes, this could easily be fixed.
There was plenty to see and do on the site without having to leave the area including swimming and lovely walks.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the site was quiet which was nice.
We definitely plan to go again so my husband can go fishing and my daughter can use the pool, playground, etc.

This was our first visit, our 3 children really enjoyed it, they joined in all the activities which if you buy a pass is really good value for money. We found all staff very helpful and friendly. We went when the site wasn't busy so we had no waiting for swimming etc. I don't think we would go in the peak season though.
The showers were never warm but clean think this was because no one used them due to being cold. Also I don't think one shower block is enough for the size of the site.
You get a lot of noise from the air base which is close by, so we never got to have a lie in. But in the day was good to watch.
It rained a lot while there and our pitch was water logged and never drained away. We told the warden he said would come back and help, us but he never did.
The pitches are not the best we had and in peak season you would, be crammed in.
The playground was very basic and very close to the toilets so children kept running in and out.
It's not the cleanest and best site we have been on, however due To the children's activities and water sports available, fishing and golf we will go back.

We booked on for 7 nights and stayed for 6 of them, we had really looked forward to the stay and knew it would be busy with it being the easter holidays, however we were not prepared for the influx of so many people they were trying to squeeze on with so little facilities,
I would hazard a guess at around 200+ units mixed tents and caravans, with 4 showers in ladies and mens, 4 toilets in each, no hot water for 3 days and toilets blocked up and showers not working.
The rest of the site was lovely, food in pub very nice, we would not however go back at such a busy time if at all.
Oh and only one waste disposal point for all site and very awkward to use.

Visited this site for 5 days over Halloween.
The site is lovely and the staff very very friendly.
The showers & toilets were really clean, the cleaner was in them cleaning most of the time.
The on site club is really good at night time for entertainment, had a Halloween party, it was amazing, very busy though.
The children's playground is not up to much, very small, no swings etc, only a slide/climbing frame, our 3 year old was not much impressed.
With the site being very close to a RAF BAse there are jet planes flying around, didn't start until after 9am but are amazing to watch, quite loud though, but we didn't hear any at the weekend.
The swimming pool, sauna etc are very clean and a great place to spend a little time.
This is a site to relax and maybe do some walking, the walks around the park/lakes are really nice but also walking to Tattershall/Coningsby along the dyke is very nice. There is not a lot at Tattershall village but Coningsby is worth the walk (a few shops etc)
There is a lovely little fish & chip shop in Coningsby called Chipmunks. There is a nice Indian called Agra Tandoori in Coningsby, short drive.

We stayed at Tattershall Lakes during the October half-term week, it was amazing value at only £5 per night. We was told that we could pitch wherever we preferred, we opted to have a pitch near to the play area, due to the fact that we have young children.
The showers were very modern and cleaned once per day, there was a large pot-wash area, but the pressure was poor on a few of the stinks. The pub was good for the kids, however, we found the drinks to be slightly expensive.
The on-site shop was one of the worst I have seen ie: running out of bread at 11am and there is little other bounties available in the shop. There is an on-site bait shop for the fishing lakes where you can also buy your fishing-day ticket.
We were treated to some aerobatic displays from the nearby RAF base, which included the flights of Eurofighter Typhoons and other planes.
There is some lovely walks/bike rides in the area. On the park itself there is a quiet touring field which we only discovered towards the end of our holiday.
This is a beautiful park, a lovely place for families. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for a good holiday.

We have stayed at this site quite a few times now and have generally been very pleased with it.
The shower/toilet facilities can get a little muddy, etc in bad weather and unfortunately there is nothing provided to clean out the shower after using it. Never had to wait to use the shower, however, even when quite busy but then I do generally get up pretty early!
The swimming pool is free to use and is a very welcome recent addition. The children's playpark is well equipped with climbing things, etc.
We have tended to set up in the main camping area but they have now opened a quiet area which is well away from the entertainment/swimming complex.
Great watersports facilities for those who like to participate! One bonus for us was the jet fighters landing and taking off which was very noisy but wonderful to see.
There is entertainment on during the main season with kids disco type thing first then bingo and sometimes a singer, etc. It can be a bit noisy at turning out time from the complex but it doesn't last too long.
Although campers are told on arrival of the spacing requirements between units, they don't always listen and we had someone set up pretty close behind us
The prices though are very competitive - during the week out of main season it is something like £5 a night including electric hookup but obviously more at weekends.
The staff are very friendly and informative and when we had a flat tyre were very quick with help about local supplier, etc.
This site is approximately 45 minutes from Skegness and is not far from the lovely market town of Horncastle which has some amazing antique shops including one in the Old Co-op Building which is like a huge jumble sale of antiques, collectables, etc.

This was our first visit to this site and first impressions were that it was a bit rundown, though the lakes were a lovely feature. The pitches are too close together for comfort (and safety as emergency vehicles would struggle to reach the centre of the field on a busy weekend). The clubhouse was OK on the night we went and everyone appeared to be having a good time, though drinks were a bit expensive and space was limited. The surrounding area is interesting to visit, especially Woodhall Spa. There is a co-op in Coningsby for shopping, though the camp shop is OK for basics. We really enjoyed the Lancaster Bomber and Spitfire flying overhead at the weekend. Although the site was very busy, there were no issues with noise late at night as other reviewers have noted. The only major complaint was the toilet facilities. There were only 3 working ladies toilets and 4 gents toilets for a very full site and by Sunday morning there were no loo rolls in either block. The ladies showers were pretty disgusting by Saturday night. I had to remove a large wad of hair from the drain before I showered and then discovered that I was ankle-deep in dirty water from the 3 other showers in use as it all flowed to the middle. I felt dirtier coming out than I did going in! Overall, it could be such a good site if the facilities were just a bit better.

I went to this site at the end of Aug/beginning of September on my own with my two young children. I got a very good price of £49 for a week which worked out cheaper than booking the four nights which I actually stayed.
The website and brochure for this site are really good.
The site offers a lot of activities for children, some of which are free. My children took part in the free activities of archery, water confidence and balloon modelling.
To be honest my initial impressions where a little disappointing. The camping fields are a mixed up with both tents and caravans and you are able to pitch anywhere you choose. The site was quite busy and the pitches were a good size. I think I was put off by the obvious number of young groups and was worried that they may be a problem, based on previous reviews.
The site is set around a series of lovely lakes. There is fishing and a variety of watersports available. I think it is the jet skiing which attracts the young groups. Me and my children hired a motorised pedelo which was fun. I did find the prices of some of the watersports on the steep side.
There is a park on site for the children which seemed nice and which my own children enjoyed.
I found the toilet block was nice although I would say it needed cleaning more regularly. The water pressure was low if you went at peak showering times.
There is an absolutely lovely new swimming pool on site and a sauna and steam room. These are free to use. Numbers are restricted by use of a coloured wrist band timing system.
We did venture into one of the two club rooms in the evening. We did not enjoy it. They have the usual children's entertainment. The room was so crowed and they really packed it the tables and chairs. The drinks are very expensive. We left before the cabaret act. At the weekends the entertainment goes on until the early hours which can be heard across the camping field so earplugs are a must. It is a very noisy site at night, children and adults screaming, shouting and playing very late.
We had a meal on site and it was not good. The shop is tiny.
The area surrounding the park is lovely. There is Tattershall Castle within walking distance, a great local chip shop. A little further is the nice town of Woodhall Spa. We spent a lovely day in Skegness which is about 40 mins away and went back one evening for the illuminations.
All in all I would say that my children liked the site more than me, don't go there if you are looking for piece and quiet, but there is lots to do on site.

We enjoyed our stay at Tattershall Lakes. There are terrible reviews on TripAdviser and mixed on here, so the site was better than we expected. We stayed two nights mid-week just after schools went back. It was fantastic value for money - £12 in total which included use of the swimming pool and evening entertainment.
The pitches themselves were suffering from the busy summer season - muddy and littered in places, but there seemed to be a fair bit of maintenance going on. It wasn't very busy so we were told to park where we liked.
There's only one toilet/shower block but at this time of year that was fine. They were reasonably clean during our stay. The showers were good, though might be too hot for children. The block also had a washing area (three sinks I think) and a chemical toilet drop. One gripe we have is no obvious grey water drain, we couldn't find one anywhere. Also, water points are limited and we had to buy an screw-like attachment (accessories shop 2 miles away towards Woodall Spa) for our hose.
The entertainment facilities were enjoyable. The modern swimming pool was small but great though its only open 10-1 then 2-4. It has a free sauna and steam room, and a jacuzzi which is extra. We enjoyed the clubhouse (bingo, quiz and cabaret not usually our thing but good fun for a couple of nights!) and were impressed with the food - good value for money and tastier than expected (we had chicken curry). Although the weather wasn't great we did have a go on the jet ski's - highly recommended!
Majority of staff were very friendly. There is some noise from the nearby RAF base, but at the earliest it started at 8. 45am and we didn't notice it in the evenings. It didn't bother us at all, was good to watch the aircraft go by! The traffic from the mainroad can be heard slightly, but more of a hum than anything.
For supplies (aside from the on-site shop) Woodall Spa is only 5 mils away and has a couple of butchers, a grocers and a deli, plus two small supermarkets.
We'd go back, but out of peak season again. If you want somewhere with activities and (holiday camp-style) entertainment, this is a great place - but go outside of school holidays if you'd prefer a quieter stay! It's calmer and less village-like than Butlins-type parks. The first time we'd stayed anywhere like this (preferring quiet sites) but did enjoy it.
