We enjoyed are stay at studfold farm at easter
With wonderful views of the country side very
Good for walking. The new shower block is excellent, very clean with free hot water for showers and washing up.
Nice level site for caravans with elec hook up. The tents are next door.
The shop is very small, so bring lots of food. There's no tv unless you have a dish for the tv. Our phones only worked at the end of the road
Apart from that very nice site, peace and relaxing, you wont want to leave. And there's a nice sweet shop at pateley bridge. Highly recommended.

Just spent three days here and by fluke timed it to perfection - wall-to-wall sunshine and just about had the place to ourselves so no problem with queueing for the showers and loos! No doubt it helped that we were there mid-week and missed the bank holiday.
Immaculate facilities and jaw-dropping scenery. Whatever you do, just make sure you approach the site from the Pateley Bridge end - our sat nav brought us in 'over the top' as the locals call it and we had to negotiate hills, dales, cattle grids and switchbacks with a twin axle van - still having nightmares.
Fortunately, we unwound at the Crown Inn in Lofthouse, walking distance from the campsite. I thought pubs like this were long gone - smiling landlord wearing a tie, a run of real ales, plenty of banter and good honest food. Counting the days till we can go back - bliss!

Enjoyed a brilliant stay at Studfold. Views are fantastic and there is plenty to do, we visited brimham rocks(would be brilliant for kids), fountains abbey and Howstein gorge- which is just down the lane!
facilities were great, never had to queue for showers or washing up facilities- which were always kept spotlessly clean. Shop was ok, had all the basics we needed.
Pately bridge is about 15 minutes away if you need to do a more extensive shop and it is also a lovely place to visit, we went for lunch in one of the cafes there which was really nice.
I would definitely rate the site itself 10/10 and will be visiting again hopefully later this summer as the nights were rather cold!

This site came highly recommended by friends who have stayed here several times. It is a lovely setting and the site has great views all around including a river running close by.
I think we were unlucky to have some late comers on the next pitch who were talking loudly until well after 11.30pm on the first night however this settled down. I found the facilities clean and well maintained but there were not enough of them for the amount of people on the site causing queues for almost everything.
The play area was ample and there were plenty of children using it. Our kids loved building a den in the field above the site. Plenty of shops in Pateley Bridge for supplies and a visit to 'The Oldest Sweetshop in England' is a must.

Just got back from another visit. We have been to studfold on many occasions as it has always been our favourite campsite and we have posted previous reviews.
This site is everything the other reviews have said. The location is stunning, the pitches are big, and you do get peace and quiet.
The site has expanded and now has 46 pitches, however the toilet, shower and washing up facilities have remained the same. Their are three toilets, two showers and two washing up sinks.
This weekend the site was full so we queued to use the facilities. This popular sites does need to increase the facilities to accommodate the number of campers.
This will not be problem when the site is not so busy.

Just returned from this fantastic site, even though we have a ten year old she didn't need a playground. The toilet block as previously stated was top class.
The site quiet and peaceful ( quiet by 10ish on the three nights we were there). The walks around the area are fantastic.
We went into the stream to the right of the site and enjoyed walking around ( just a few thoughtless people leaving the odd bit of litter).
One thing I would say is, take shopping with you as the site shop was more of a tuck shop but could order milk and bread in for you, Pateley Bridge does have a Spar but it is very over priced ( do go to the Chippy there as it was lovely and cheaper than the Spar).
Would definitely visit again.

We visited in April to avoid the Royal wedding fuss. We've been several times now and love it here. The site is always tidy and never feels overcrowded.
Yes, sometimes we had to wait for the loos, but it's not a big site so the wait is never too long. I like the private cubicle with the hand wash basin - other sites should do this.
The site also provides cleaning stuff in the shower block which everyone uses so the facilities are spotless.
Another reviewer has said that the pitches with hook up are close together. I wouldn't have said so really - it's never been a problem for us anyway and we have a massive tent!
The walks in the surrounding area are superb. It's a gentle stroll to the pub (the one in the village is lovely with great pub food (my husband was delighted when after Sunday lunch the chef came round with a platter of roast beef, offering seconds and thirds because it wasn't going to get eaten by anyone. The food in the pub at the top of the hill leaves a lot to be desired and the landlord there seems not to be keen on welcoming big groups with children, despite the fact that said children are all drinking expensive J2O etc).
The site owners are very keen on noise restrictions at night so don't go if you're after a noisy outdoor boozy session with your ipod on full blast.
The nature trail is fab - our hard-to-impress urban kids loved it. It's had a lot of money spent on it and it shows. Don't miss it. Leave the dog behind though - one of the pleasures of this walk is that there is no dog mess around for the unwary seven year old to tread in (and for gagging mum to prise out of the trainer with a pointy stick).
Another reviewer downgraded the site a bit because it's too far from anywhere! Funny. This is camping in the countryside - if you want a Sainsbury's on your doorstep, it's not the place for you. Yes, it would nice to walk to a farm shop serving delicious breakfasts for £1. 50 etc - but that's in the 'If Carling ran a campsite. ' dreamworld!
There's a little river just down the hill at the bottom of the site. Our children (all aged seven and over) were fine down there, but if you have toddlers you would want to keep an close eye on them to make sure they weren't heading off unattended.
We love it here - we're not good campers so are hard to please, but we'll keep coming back.

Studfold has everything you want, we give the site 5 stars for everything. Walks in every direction, Crown pub Lofthouse, fab beer and food fantastic. We go because its like a drug, a tonic to de-stress you, with all around you fresh air and plenty to do young and old. You can leave your car if you want to explore from the site, or half an hours drive in any direction brings into play 10s of other things to do. Just don't tell to many people cause when you go you wont want to leave!

First outing of the year and it had to be back to Studfold - the kids love it and it has everything we need. The site is in a great location for exploing Upper Nidderdale, with some fantastic scenery, selection of pubs with good beer and food.
The site is well laid out with very good facilities, toilet block was very clean, small shop and always a friendly welcome from the owners. We will be back very soon - we love it.
Mobile signal is not the best - you might have to go up to the pub in Middleton to get one(great excuse for a beer)

We recently spent a week at this lovely campsite in a beautiful part of our country. The site was well maintained with ample electric hook-up points for tents and was very peaceful.
The toilet and shower block was one of the best I have ever seen on a campsite, very thoughtfully presented and clean. The washing up area was also excellent with everything you could need provided.
The cafe, 0.3 miles away at the gorge provide a delicious breakfast if you don't feel like cooking plus some fun activity for the more adventurous.
There were plenty of walks and places to visit in the area, many national trust properties and the pub in the nearby village of Lofthouse is certainly worth a visit, you receive a warm welcome and the food was delicious.
