Lovely site but 8 1/2 miles to nearest town which is Pateley Bridge. The scenary is beautiful here and it is so quiet and relaxing. Toilets lovely and clean and the shower cubicles were very good as stated below. The shop didn't have much in it when we visited and there was no one around when we booked in. Young lad had to go and fetch someone from the farm house but that didn't matter much. Only problem I have is that it cost an extra £3 per night for electric which when we only used one light just before bedtime, I found expensive. There is no TV reception and we also coulnd't get any radio stations, but all in all it was really the peace and quiet we were after. I know people say why do you have to have a TV but when you are disabled like my husband and I and we can't take advantage of the nearby walks, that and books are all we have. We will be going again some time though.
This site is ideal for walkers.

Went midweek so it was very quiet. Only about 3 other tents. Very well located with a short walk into Lofthouse village.
The Crown in Lofthouse is an excellent pub serving fantastic meals. They allow dogs in. For evening meals you should get there when it opens at 7pm as it gets very busy and they only serve till 9pm.
The shower blocks on the site are very clean and modern.
Only downside to the site is that mobile phones will not work on the site. You need to walk to the lay-by at the top of the road (2 mins) to get a signal.
There's plenty of walks around the local area. Just be careful walking near cows with calves if you have dogs. You will be chased by the cows!

10/10 for this campsite.
It was our idea of heaven. The location was fab off the main road but close enough to a village for essentials. Surrounded by countryside. The site was very friendly and reasonably peaceful. Toilets were very clean.
Will def return

Just returned from another fantastic week at Studfold farm. This was our fourth visit and we will be returning. The campsite is a great place to relax and unwind without the worry of what the children are getting up to. Our children could safely play on the top field, go to the river or take them selves to the farm shop.
The facilities are second to none with the toilets and showers kept clean on a regular basis.
The campsite is in a beautiful area of Nidderdale and we successfully completed several walks and the scenery was breathtaking.
The walk up to the Crown at Middlesmoor on the road is worth it for the food and hospitality you will find when you arrive. There are two other routes to Middlesmoor which involve walking footpaths through fields which are less strenuous. Don,t forget to take your touch for the return journey. The landlord and locals make you feel very welcome and he even let our four boys sit in his lounge to watch the football.
We did not go to the Crown in lofthouses as the landlord was not to keen on children.
Can't wait to go back!

I feel a bit guilty leaving this review, given all the other rave reviews the place has had, But Studfold Farm isnt a place we'll be rushing back to.
Its mainly our own fault for not reading between the lines, but a place that's great for families / kids; with ball games / kites and bikes etc., isnt the place for a relaxing two or three days! Maybe ive chosen well in the past - and got a bit spoilt? I don't know?
We found the place too over-crowded for comfort, with the pitches too close together, also noisy - which didn't die down much before midnight. There were balls being kicked around, kids flying about on bikes - both activities supposedly 'against the rules' (although I'm not sure just where the kids were actualy meant to play?), but nothing was ever done, likewise the late-night noise. In fact, we never clapped eyes on the owners once - not even at check-in, which was done by an elderly dear who took whole minutes to appear!
I can vouch for the loos/showers though, as busy as the site was (although it was by no means 'full'), there was rarely any queuing, and they were always spotless. The location is very nice, with some good walks around. We paid fifteeen quid a night inc EHU, which I don't call bad nowadays.
But, if its a quiet relaxing break youre looking for, this isnt the place to have it!

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at this site. The location and surrounding views were fabulous. The shower / toilet blocks were excellent, always clean and well presented. In both the mens and ladies there were 2 showers which incorporated an area to dry and keep your clothes from getting wet. The pitches were of an excellent size with ample room for car, caravan and awning. There is also an adjoining field which can be used as a play field and some fantastic walks in the area. Would recommend this site for anyone, although, if you have children that require a playground with swings and things you will need to look elsewhere, but there is loads of space to play football and fly a kite etc. The nearby stream walk is great for checking out the wildlife and the owners are introducing a wildlife scheme for children - looks great. Our only negative comment would be for the facilities to include a washing machine and dryer - could be a problem if the weather is inclement.

We stayed a night in September and found the site to be located in a beautiful, remote area in Upper Nidderedale. The tents are in a field above the caravan field and have their own modern toilet block and were immaculate when we arrived.
The site is in a beautiful area with lovely walks and views around. There are a couple of pubs within walking distance which were friendly and served good food.
The pitches had EHU in the field we were in and plenty of space.
We were made welcome by the owner who was friendly.
I would recommend this site for campers both for location and quality and will no doubt return in the future.

We've just returned from 2 weeks at Studfold Farm and have all had a wonderful time. Owner Ian and family are more than helpful, and they keep the site in top condition.
There are two adjoining fields for tents, the one with electric hook-ups was busier than our field, but never over crowded. Our field contained the play area (grassy space, great for cricket etc.) and pitches were generous, flat & well drained.
The toilet/shower block & dish washing area was always clean & well maintained. There is also a laundry room in a separate toilet block near the small shop, containing a washing machine, tumble drier & free spin drier.
Peaceful area, beautiful surroundings, great area for walking and plenty to keep our four children from 3-9 years amused. They particularly enjoyed How Stean Gorge & walking up to the church in Middlesmoor. Watch out for the wildlife - curlews, wagtails, rabbits, a stoat . A rather bold hedgehog even took a liking to our tent!
Pately Bridge is a 15 minute drive away (nice park, fab sweet shop), and many other attractions are also in easy driving distance - Fountains Abbey, The Forbidden Corner, Lightwater Valley, York (Jorvik Centre, National Railway Museum) . I could go on!
We'll definitely be back. And that's the first time we've ever said that about a campsite.

Arrived Bank Holiday Saturday camp site was full but still plenty of room. Pitches are ample for van, car and awning. Toilets immaculate and well presented. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Plenty of very good walks from the camp site and near by. Undoubtedly the best pub is the Crown Lofthouse which is well within walking distance. Here you can get the best steak I have tasted for about a ten pounds and a pint for £2.50.
The site has a good play area and plenty of adventure areas for the kids. At Middlesmore you can get a fantastic view of the area from the church; If you look to the back of the camp site you can see the church high on the hill. I would suggest a visit to Masham where you can visit the Black Sheep Brewery. This is a lovely town with a big square in the middle surrounded by tea shops etc. The best route to Masham is through Lofthouse, passing the Crown pub and following the road over the hill, this is an excellent route with fantastic views. Will visit again without a doubt.

We visited over the Easter weekend. The weather was freezing and a lot of snow but this didn't ruin the weekend. A lovely site. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They checked that all visitors were ok due to the adverse weather conditions, which I thought was nice. The toilet block was excellent with plenty of hot water. We will visit again, hopefully the weather will be warmer.
