Booked two pitches with hook-ups for two 6 man tent and a tarp found lots of room for 4 adults and 4 kids.
Toilets very nice and clean Gents, 3x toilet 2x showers and wash bowls
Covered washing up area.
The farm has a nature trail, a small shop
On the odd side the water has a spa taste due to it coming from a borehole and you may want to buy or take bottled water or boil it. This is a great site in a lovely spot if you are just starting out like us, This is one of the best. Lot of great walks too.
The village has a pub and the gorge has a cafe with nice cakes, if you feel the need you can abseil off a bridge, walk up the river and go in a cave.Take any number of walks

Managed to get in for 3 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend with friends. (Kids aged between 7 and 4).
A lovely site, warm welcome, very tidy and well kept tent site. The next day there was a bug hunt which all the kids loved, as well as us adults - with animal footprints, collecting bugs, bird hide (which I could have spent all day in!), and a small playground at the far end.
The shower block was kept clean, showers were always warm and even though there were only 2 showers, we didn't have to queue at all.
The Gorge is worth a visit, we spent Sunday afternoon with all the kids and although we got in a few hair-raising moments we enjoyed ourselves.
We would definitely come back to this site again, when in the area. It's worth popping into Pateley Bridge and getting all your bbq meat from the local butchers there. Lovely!

Just returned from a couple of days at this site and it was excellent (even though the weather didn't fully oblige).
Firstly, beware of using satnav, when coming from the north/north east, and towing. It brings you over the hills, on single track roads, and would be tricky, especially for larger caravans.
This is a beautiful site, in an excellent location. The owners are more than helpful. On our departure, the gentleman approached our car made sure everything had been good, which it had been.
The pitches are the biggest we've had. We got our tent, a gazebo and our big car all in the pitch for £23.00 per night for 4 of us with EHU.
The toilet/shower block is very clean and a decent size.
The shop is very small, but seemed to have what you would need (although we didn't have to use it).
One final word of warning. The midges can be a bit of a problem on a night. Nothing too serious, but we did get nibbled a bit, so cream would be advisable beforehand.
Overall, a top site and 100% recommended.
We will be back.

Just had 3 nights at this lovely site. Walked to Pateley Bridge and did another long walk up to the reservoir from the site. Didn't use the car once. Fantastic scenery sitting outside on an evening, peaceful.
Great shower blocks, clean, free. Would recommend the Crown in Lofthouse for their food, basic menu but good value for money and a good pint. Owner did a walk round late on, asking if all ok, nice touch.

Stayed at this campsite for 2 nights. I was welcomed by the owner who was very friendly and helpful. She guided us to a decent sized pitch, we were close to the toilet and shower block but not to close. The toilet and shower block were very clean and had constant hot water.
We went to two nearby pubs for tea as the weather wasn't great to be cooking outdoors. The Bridge Inn which is near Pately Bridge, very good food and friendly atmosphere then we went to I think its the Crown it was in Middlemoor, what a lovely place, very friendly staff, welcomed our little girl and made us feel very welcome too. Lovely food.
Didn't use the shop on site but there seemed to be the bare necessities in there. We did however go on the nature trial which we thought was great, a real treat. You could tell a lot of work had gone into putting this together. Again it was just a shame the weather was a bit poor but this is not the campsites fault.
Also had a walk up to How Stean Gorge, lovely cafe there but didn't go into the gorge because of the weather.
All in all this was a very good, clean and friendly site and I wouldn't definitely put it down in my list of sites to go back to.

Spent a great 5 nights at this lovely site during Whitsun week. When we arrived we went to the shop to check in and were given pitch number 1 which we were a little concerned about as it was right by the entrance. As it turned out, this was fine as it was tucked in a little behind the entrance and was close to the facilities.
The toilet / washing facilities are of a very high standard, although I did have to queue for the shower and washing up sinks a couple of times. Some really nice touches e.G. Washing up liquid provided and cream cleaner for the bathroom sinks.
We visited Masham, Ripon and tootled around the area exploring the fantastic countryside. Masham is a beautiful village with some lovely quaint shops - the grocers shop in particular is like stepping back in time. There drive there is also very nice with some beautiful views of the valley.
It is worth taking a walk down to the river below the tent field - our puppy loved splashing in the water. Also, we went up to the gorge to the cafe which was really nice.
I would say that the site is fantastic for families - we were possibly the only couple without kids! It was very friendly, clean and located in a beautiful part of the country.

An excellent site in fantastic setting. Good mix of couples and families with young kids.
Things I like about this site:
1. Owners have had farm for 500 years and obviously care a lot for it and their customers. Owner came to check everything ok, was refilling toilet paper at 10.30pm!
2. Lovely facilities - free showers with separate bench and clothing area, also cubicles with wash basins if you prefer stand-up wash in private. Well-equipped washing up area.
3. Numbered pitches not too crammed together. It got quite busy on the Sat night we were there, including a big party of young walkers but didn't feel overcrowded or noisy.
4. Large field area set aside for children to play in which not only keeps them away from playing round tents but encourages them to make friends.
6. Recommend the nature trail which seems a bit pricey but you get a discount if staying. It's really well done, with fantastic bird hide, surprises for the kids and a play area with sandpits and tractors and original barn with information which gives you a real feel for how the farm used to be.
Can't think of any negatives. I had previously wondered if facilities would get too crowded when busy (only 2 showers and 3 cubicles in Ladies) but we didn't notice a problem on this v hot and busy weekend (although we were in caravan we used the facilities a lot).
We have a toddler and you do need to keep a constant eye on them as there is a steep bank down to a small gorge on one side of the site! There is no mobile reception and at the moment no payphone which is a bit inconvenient if someone in the party is lost on the way, but the lovely lady there was very helpful.

What an amazing and beautiful location. The owners were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained.
The site is situated on How Stean Gorge which is accessible from the camp site, I thought it was rather expensive to enter and tour around the Gorge however the water from Gorge is accessible from the site without payment. Our children had hours of fun playing in the water and getting dirty. There is a shop on site with basics, but milk and bread could be order if required. The local pub is a short distance away, walk-able up very steep hill, the food and landlord very nice and friendly.
As it was an early visit the site was not very full, which made it even more special. Prices were reasonable worked out at £20 a night for 2 adults and 2 kids. Brilliant!
Visited site again in June, schools holidays, much busier this time. The site was still maintained to the highest standard even though very busy, also no price increase, even though school holidays. My only concerns were the other visitors lack of respect form the toilets and lack of control over their children, which is no reflection on the site. This is a 10/10 site for my family and our friends. We cant wait to return.

Had a lovely stay here last weekend to try out a new tent. The owners were very friendly and helpful and they were around when ever we needed them.
The pitches are a good size and are close to the new toilet block which is very well thought out with plenty of room to dress without getting wet clothes. The only one minor complaint would be that the toilet block wasn't heated and so it was very cold getting out of the shower, I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem in the summer!
Covered pot washing area was good and free washing up liquid and dish cloths were provided. There were only 2 sinks and although we didn't have to queue I'm sure it would get busy during the summer.
The Nature Trail was good and would definitely recommend a visit if you have Primary Aged Children. The local area is absolutely beautiful and the site is well located with plenty of places to visit during your stay, eg. Scar House Reservoir, How Stean Gorge, Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks (brilliant if you have kids that love to climb)
How Stean Gorge has a lovely little Cafe that served food all day and with it only being a short walk from the camp site it's a nice place to go for Breakfast, lunch or Dinner.
No mobile reception in the area, but the owner advised that if you went down to the Recycle bins in Lofthouse you can get a signal if on O2 or Orange! The campsite was quiet after 10pm but the site was far from full so not expecting it to be as quiet in the summer.
We will definitely be returning in the summer

We were taken back by the stunning location of this working farm camp site in North Yorkshire. There are separate areas for statics and two fields for tourers and tents. The pitch sizes are generous. We looked out on to rolling hills and a couple of small hilltop villages. There is no playground for children so particularly good for adults, but do have a large flat play area set aside for children to play ball games and socialize.
The site is almost next door to How Stean Gorge and the river was directly at the back of our pitch. The gorge is breathtaking and has options for the more adventurous! Nearby are Ripon, Richmond, Pately Bridge, Northallerton & Harrogate to mention just a few.
The toilet block is new and is slightly disappointing as it was not heated. The showers are free, and push button type, could have had a bit more force and been a bit longer than 13 seconds per push.
The owner was friendly and there is a small shop for basic needs. All in all a great site we will go back to again.
