We had a 3 night stay here at the beginning of the school holidays and found the site to be very clean and tidy. Pitches were level and well drained. The showers and toilets were always clean and we never had to wait. Washing up areas were the same.
The campsite attracted many international visitors with it being so close and convenient to Edinburgh. The bus service was excellent. Very regular every 10-15mins and cheap too!
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. They even arranged for us to share a taxi with 4 other couples going to the Murryfield stadium to make it simple and cost effective for us all. 10/10 for customer service!
I will definitely come back here and would recommend this site.

Stunning site surrounded by old ruins. We stayed for Jubilee weekend and on the first night the site was quiet and got busier on the second and third night however crowding was not an issue. Pitches are numbered and you are shown to it by a man on a golf buggy.
Each pitch has a picnic table so the tables and chairs stayed in the car. The pitches are level and are sheltered by high bushes which segregate the camping areas. The shower and toilet blocks were extremely clean and the washing area was good with deep sinks and a freezer for ice blocks.
There is a brilliant park for children in the centre of the site. The shop was sufficiently stocked however we did our shopping at Tesco's in Musselburgh which is only a 7-10 minute drive away.
We visited Edinburgh twice and had a day driving round the coastal road to East Links Family Park which is great fun with the most amusing lama's I have ever seen - train around the park, buggies to bike round the animal trail and a massive play area. North Berwick is a lovely old traditional seaside town which is well worth a visit if in the area.
The site is very expensive to stay and I am not sure if we would return because of the cost (we paid £92 for 4 nights - 2 adults and 1 child) as we found other sites in the area that were much lower in price offering similar facilities for campers.

This was our first outing with our caravan, the owners are really helpful, they helped solve a couple of issues we had. The toilets and showers are immaculate and lovely and warm. The on site shop stocks a good few essentials. The site is only a ten minute drive from all of the supermarkets like tesco extra, aldi, lidle and asda. The bus to Edinburgh takes about 40 minutes but make sure you have the right change as the drivers are not allowed to carry any change for safety issues. We stayed here for 3 nights and had a really nice break thanks to the owners!

Nice Park, staff pleasant, toilet block clean, Facilities good, feels like you are in the country but still close to the city. You get shown to your pitch by a man in a golf buggy and shown where all the facilities are, maps of the city and bus details are given to you. Easy to get to Edinburgh with bus stop only 3minutes walk away.
Very quiet at this time of year but we are hoping to return with mates to go To Edinburghs Hogmany celebrations, there is an all night bus that brings you back to just a few minutes away from the park. So glad we found this place by accident on return from Aviemore, didn't know there were many parks open in the winter.
Will be using this place more often, looking forward to Scottish Hogmany in Edinburgh

I was a female travelling on my own and felt completely safe and happy here.
Beautifully maintained site, lots of paths which was helpful for a dry walk to the immaculately maintained toilet blocks and washing up facilities; the rain during my stay was torrential. Unlike other reviewers, I never had to queue for a shower or sink so it must be 'luck' of the draw.
Hot water was plentiful - launderette reasonable and tumble drier was very welcome at times due to abysmal weather.
A variety of units with quite few 'permanently' set up ; for families who keep their unit on site and visit when they can.
International clientèle probably visiting the Festival.
All staff helpful and accommodating - male and female. ( despite comment from a previous reviewer).
Shop provides excellent freshly-baked croissants, pain au chocolat, buns etc. If ordered the day before
Bus service is excellent but do take a torch if planning to come back after dark.

Well organised camp site. Lovely grounds, but the area outside was a bit dreary and run down (not helped by the incessant rain!).
The beach across the road was mainly mud and rock and was not clean, but you can get the bus or drive further up to a seaside resort.
However, I assume most people stay at this site in order to visit Edinburgh and it is perfect for that as there is a great bus service which runs just past the site every 10 to 15 minutes.
Due to the Fringe Festival the camp site was pretty full and the toilets and showers got a bit of a bashing, though they were cleaned everyday to a good standard. Always had to queue for the shower, even at different times of the day.
Good access to the freezer in the washing up area for freezing ice packs.
A bit expensive, £25 per night for 5 berth tent and awning, but I'm guessing that is due to it's proximity to a capital city.

Large site, sectioned by well-maintained hedges, with two toilet blocks, kept very clean despite the continual heavy rain dragging mud around. Touring vans, seasonal pitches, tents, octopods and lodges.
Very international clientèle, and plenty of turnover, during a very busy week (Fringe and Tattoo both on). Differences between staff - women staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, male staff laconic to the point of surly - quite disconcerting.
Noticed a member of staff topping up the hardstanding on some motorhome sites when the vans were out as chippings becoming ground-in to the mud by the rain - yes it was that continual, which I thought very helpful.
Play area and grass well maintained. Four helpfully large washing up sinks and drainers in our block with turn taps rather than timed push-buttons - water good and hot - a few more sinks would lessen the queue at peak times.
The washing up area had a freezer for ice-blocks which was very helpful as accessible when reception was shut.
Only two showers (plus one in disabled washroom) which were often in high demand. The shower I used (disabled one) was not on a push-button timer which was lovely.
Site didn't feel over-crowded even though completely full. This is the site where awning pegs go to die - this cannot be emphasised enough - rock pegs essential.
Shop provides excellent freshly-baked croissants, pain au chocolat, buns etc. If ordered the day before.

Missed this wee gem last year, glad to be back again.
Excellent shower and toilet facilities - clean and well managed. Friendly staff, well stocked shop on site, paper & morning rolls preorder.
Relatively quiet which was hard to believe, especially with the various accommodation lodges with hot tubs /micro lodges available to suit all family types.
Good transport links into the city centre - Number 26 bus 5 min walk from site takes you right into the centre. Beach although rocky is again a 5 min walk from the site. Went out for a meal in Prestonpans - The Goth on the main street has a fantastic history but food definitely not value for money and tasteless, pop in for a drink.
All in all a very relaxing weekend. Will definitely be back, Thank you.

A large site with extensive facilities, maintained to a high standard.
The pitch is of a good size level & is hard standing gravel, so bring quality pegs?
Showers/Toilets etc clean & inspected on a regular basis. Covered wash-up with plenty of hot water always. A small freezer available for campers with easy access at all times.
Excellent Dog walks, reception manned normal hours, backed up by x2 wardens.
All shops in near town of Musselburgh & access to Edinburgh easy via the close rail station.
We enjoyed our stay there & would return when next in the location.

We were here for 8 nights from 21st May. We found the site welcoming and everything was clean. We had made a boo boo as we had not read the small print and had not paid our balance one month in advance as required. However that was sorted out with reception and our stay went ahead. The bus service was excellent. Digital TV reception was great. Lots of friendly people and friendly staff. We will go back to this site. Our only problem was with the Edinburgh Marathon which closed so many roads but a word with the staff revealed alternatives.
