What a lovely site & just on our doorstep.
We had a quick check in & was shown to our pitch & I got a ride in the golf buggy, much to my kids amusement! We were able to order papers & rolls for the next morning & the rolls were lovely.
There are 2 toilet blocks which were never closed for cleaning, but were always spotlessly clean. As previously mentioned there are only 3 showers in 1 of the ladies, but only had to wait 1 morning for a shower.
There are plenty of water & bin points dotted around the site & recycling too which I wish a lot of other sites would do.
I was never in the shop, but the kids said it had the usual stuff & bits & pieces of caravan/camping equipment.
The dog was well catered for with a walk which circles the lower end of the site through the tree's.
The kids used the park & said it was fairly good, but they were a bit miffed when they got 'escorted' out at 10pm. I suppose as adults we can see that the rules need to be there, but kids moaned about that!
This site is only 40 mins from home & we will certainly be back & have told all our caravanning friends about it.

We arrived at the site to a warm welcome, the shop was well stocked and the staff are pleasant. We were shown to our pitch and not just pointed to it, which my wife thought was a nice touch.
The site is kept as clean and tidy as possible.Bus service very good into Edinburgh. A bit of a trek to the bus stop, but worth it.
The people on the park are welcoming. Will definitely go back in the winter for the Xmas / New year activities in Edinburgh.

Had a family birthday gathering in one of their pine lodges. Absolutely superb! But not cheap!
Three double bedrooms - one en-suite, bathroom, kitchen area with all mod cons and lounge. Very comfortable.
Easy to access from the A1 and A68, as well as City of Edinburgh By-Pass. About a mile from Musselburgh town centre, which has a lot of small shops, including some of the 'chains' and a big Tesco just off the town centre.
Regular and cheap buses into Edinburgh city - but they take an age. Good Saturday train service (half hourly) from Wallyford park and ride - just down the road. Only 12 minutes journey and saves a lot of hassle! Everything you could want in the city, as well as historic 'Old Toon'.
Booked Saturday evening at Restaurant 102 just off Musselburgh town centre. Very friendly; excellent food - at a price - but it was a special occasion.
Sunday down to North Berwick. A lovely old resort with a beach and Sea Life centre. The High Street is a bit 'staid' in its ambience, but has two or three decent pubs that do food. Plenty of golf links around if you're so inclined.
Definitely recommend if you want a luxurious 'free and easy' break convenient to Edinburgh.

Came to this site as a base to visit Edinburgh. As has been said in a previous review, the bus service is frequent but takes about 40 minutes to get into the centre of the city. Lots to see and do in the city, bars, restaurants, shops etc.
The toilet block was clean and functional, but the showers were somewhat lacking (both male and female) - temperamental electric showers!
Wi-fi coverage was OK, but for £20 for a week, and where we were pitched, it was no better than 1990's dial up for speed - meaning it was only good for emailing - no downloads or BBC iPlayer!

Stayed for a week. Really good dog run nice short walk in a morning. Clean facilities and close to the beach ( 15 min walk). Just up the road is a power station so not the most scenic on the beach.! Great fish and chip shop in the local village heading towards the power station.
Bus is really handy but to get to it you need to walk right round the site to get to the main road. Dont forget a torch. £3 day ticket on the bus about 20mins in to the centre.
Dog rules are on site but not on the website. Not sure how strict they are? we went against one rule which was leaving our dog in the caravan when we went out. Didn't know this until we had parked up and paid £150 so we thought sod it although it was very quiet so don't think anyone noticed.
Staff could have been friendlier considering the cost ! No welcome or thanks for staying etc when we left.

We stayed here for just 2 nights during the Scottish half term and yet the site was not overcrowded, and the owners very accommodating. They said they would always fit people in, and yet the site still retained a lot of peace, quiet and sense of space.
This is all the more surprising considering how close Drum Mohr is to Edinburgh itself; just over 11 miles out, very close to the A1 to Berwick.
There is a day and night bus service into Edinburgh (the 26 and N26 bus) which takes just 20 minutes to Princes Street. There is also free parking at Prestonpans station just down the road. We drove into the city and had no problems finding free parking near the station, and it took less than 15 minutes.
This proximity to Scotland's capital is the site's major selling point, but there are also other things to see, including the Scottish Seabird Centre, the Firth of Forth and Rosslyn Chapel. There are massive shopping centres at Fort Kinneard, only about 10 minutes drive away.
A lot of the people there were seasonal and very, very friendly and welcoming. The owners were great as well and the price is good even for a motorhome, 2 adults and 3 kids with electric. The facilities are good with nice clean hot showers. No WiFi, but good 3G signal on our dongle.
The kids really enjoyed the play area and the amount of space. We liked the good sized pitches and the helpful attitude of the owners.
In short, good value and brilliantly located for Edinburgh.

We stayed here as it was close to the coast, with easy access into the city either by bus or train. The site is predominantly caravans and motor homes.
You can't really see the coast from the campsite, although it is only a 15 minute walk away. The picnic tables across the site were welcomed.
The staff were very helpful, and the shop well stocked. Shower facilities free, and kept clean. We had one key for the toilet blocks between 2, which was a bit of a pain. There seemed no real reason to lock the blocks.
We stayed at the site for 5 nights and went to the Fringe Festival. The bus to town was good and frequent, but takes ages, and the night buses back were also welcomed. The staff provided full information on the bus services.
I recommend a train ride trip out to North Berwick, and the beaches at Portobello. I also recommend a walk along the coast from the campsite to Musselburgh.

The campsite has sectioned areas and designated plots and we found our area to be quite small making it nice and quiet and well protected from any wind.
We found the staff to be friendly enough and the shop was well stocked; the fresh croissants in the morning were excellent.
In terms of facilities, we found there were probably enough toilets to cope with the morning rush but the site is a little short on shower facilities - there were only 2 or 3 in the block, certainly not enough. They were warm and clean though and easy to adjust, and free.
The campsite is located in Musselburgh but it's right on the bus route which is cheap, quick and easy enough to get into Edinburgh.
Overall we were generally very happy with this site.

We stayed on this Site about 5years ago, and once again it was a pleasure to be there. The park is set up to a very high standard, well kept, clean and tidy, the shower blocks are cleaned up to a very high standard every day.
The staff are helpful and very accommodating. The site is within easy reach of Edinburgh with a bus stop running along the road down the hill from the site about 10 mins walk or so away, you can also use the park and ride service at Wallyford train Station. There are many attractions nearby apart from the obvious one, brochures are on hand with information for the relevant attraction.
Yes this is still an excellent site and we shall be using it again when we next visit the area.

We got home last friday we stayed here from the monday. We cannot fault this site at all everywhere was spotlessly clean the staff were very helpful. The shop was equipped well and reasonably priced.
The only problem we found was the lane up to the site was really dark at night there's no light at all I know this isnt the sites fault but I think a sign or something to warn people to take a torch with them if they are returning late.
We went to watch the tattoo and it was excellent if we hadnt have gone in the car we wouldn't have been able to find the camp. We would definitely stay at this site again and would recommend it to people.
