We used this site whilst visiting our Daughter at the nearby University at St Margaret's, Musseleborough and found it to be just ideal for the purpose.
A spotlessly clean and functional site located within a sheltered location we found it a little cramped as far as pitches were concerned when compared to others we had recently stayed at. That said, being so close to Edinburgh, and serviced by a frequent Bus service at the end of the lane it was no great surprise.
The use of the Showers attracted a small fee, which I personnaly am not a great fan of; I would much prefer to pay up front than have to rummage around for change.
A very good, friendly site which I am sure we will use time and time again

Our main reason for choosing this site was its closeness to Edinburgh and the bus route into the city just down the lane.
When we arrived, we were shown to our pitch - which was tucked in a tight corner. The owner kindly offered to help manoeuvre our van with his mini tractor.
The pitches were quite tightly packed together, with little space for children to play. However, there was a playpark in the centre of the site.
We noticed that there were wooden picnic tables provided in the tenting area, which was a nice touch. They also rent out wooden lodges.
The shop had the basics for food and camping supplies - and bread/newspapers could be ordered by 6pm the night before.
I was surprised that we had to pay 10p for 6 minutes in the showers. The paybox was outside the shower. A bit of a pain, particularly if you had children in with you too. I feel this extra fee should be included in the cost of the pitch. The toilets are locked at night - you are given a key.
The Edinburgh bus was excellent. £3 an adult, £2.40 a child - for an all day ticket. The bus stop is down the end of the lane (5 min walk, 10 mins up, don't forget a torch!) The No.26 runs every 10 minutes, the last bus from Edinburgh back to the site was 11.45pm - then 15mins past each hour throughout the night. This was so easy after the Tattoo.
We also visited the Falkirk Wheel (approx 45 mins - 1 hour drive). Excellent day and free!
Very disappointed with Edinburgh Zoo - dated, expensive, and all up a hill (a struggle for wheelchairs).
All in all, a good choice of site - convenient for the city.

Good campsite with bus stop into Edinburgh 5mins down the lane. 40-45 mins bus ride, £1.20 single or £2.50 day saver - but you must have correct change ready! Run throughout the night.
Okay sized tent pitches but felt slightly cramped compared to others sites we have visited. Picnic table provided with each pitch.
Toilet and shower block clean but remember your key at night. 10p for 6 mins in shower. 10p for hairdryer. Freezer for ice packs in one of blocks, washing up facilities. Reception with small shop and information about the area.
Children's play area and dog walk path. You pay a £2 deposit on arrival for a code to get in/out of the site barrier.
Generally good site, with all amenities and pretty easy access to city centre if you don't mind the time it takes to get in.

Stayed for a week and really enjoyed our stay, as previously mentioned the staff were really friendly, the toilets and showers were really clean and because it was mostly caravans you could get a shower normally without waiting, the site was immaculate of rubbish/litter. Nearest tesco in musselburgh 3 miles ish and asda 4 miles. Fort Kinnaird shopping mall 4 miles is well worth a visit, it's what a proper outlet mall is supposed to be. Buses into Edinburgh are at the bottom of the hill but be aware that there are two different bus companies so if you buy the one day explorer ticket from 'Lothian' buses you can't use it on 'First' buses so need to pay again. Driving into Edinburgh is easy and is parking, we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and the food was really good and not as expensive as I imagined it would be. J.Lucas Ice Cream shop in Musselburgh is a MUST as it sells what ice cream is supposed to be like, little shop on the high street in Musselburgh.

We arrived in edinburgh last weekend without booking a campsite pitch, (during the edinburgh festival this was not a wise move)we gave drummohr a call, the park was all but full after holding on the line for a few minutes they came back and had managed to squeeze us in, this saved us having to head out of the city as no one else would take us.The owner and his staff were very helpful and gave us lots of information on the festival, tours and busses, and also gave us some discount vouchers.
Although the park was full it was still very peaceful you would hardly know you were so close to the city.
The well stocked shop had all we needed.
We would recommend this site to anyone.

This is a lovely, clean and well-organised campsite. We stayed for four nights during the Edinburgh Fringe. It is ideal for festival-goers, as there are regular buses to the city centre not far from the site.
There are shower blocks dotted around the site. Occasionally queues formed waiting for a free shower, but they were clean and spacious once you got in.
The shop was well-stocked and the staff helpful. The whole operation is very strong from an administrative point of view, all very efficient.
The tent pitches are a good size and are pleasingly presented and looked-after. Many of them have a wooden picnic bench provided. There was a good sized play area that kept the children very well occupied most of the time.
All in all we found this an excellent campsite and have booked to go back again for the next festival in August 2010.

Five star site not really more a three star dirty and old toilets / showers, Graffiti on the toilet doors had to pay 10 pence to use the showers! No mop or anything to clean up. No Baby room is just a drop down changing tray in the shower area. We were told there was baby facilities.
Vans Boxed in like sardines. Staff raced round the site on their buggies/carts. Over priced also (Club site money) Very similar to stopping on a motorway services for the showers etc.

We loved this campsite! we are new to caravanning, but this was the best site we've been to.
The site was very picturesque and quiet, with a good playground for kids (sadly ours was a little young to fully appreciate it), clean toilet block and other facilities, and very helpful staff.
They didn't have a family bathroom, but they did have a disabled shower room within the main block that we used with our baby daughter.
People on here recommended the bakery products and we'd second this! the pain au chocolat and croissants were amazing - order by 6pm and collect at 8am the following morning.
We visited edinburgh zoo, musslebrugh itself, north berwick, waterworld in leith (a very good water park that our daughter loved!), and spent quite a lot of time just chilling on the site.
Overall, really recommended.

Can describe the site in one word 'FANTASTIC'
The Site & Toilets were very clean.
The staff really helpful & friendly.
A very quiet and peaceful site.
The bus service into Edinburgh was only a short walk from the site enterance.
Must remember to order Morning paper the night before!
Could be annoying if you forgot your toilet key at night!
But the sight of those Rabbits, at night, was truly wonderful!
Where do they all appear from!
We will definitely be calling again!
