We loved this holiday! It was our first holiday with Haven and they did not disappoint. We did get it cheaper due to a newspaper deal and then extended it so we felt we got great value for money.
The static caravan was lovely and toasty as they had put the heating on for us and made up the beds on arrival. Only downside to the whole holiday was the curtains fell down on my head one night and the bedroom window did not shut properly, but with a few minor adjustments by my husband, we were back on form. If my older son had come along as planned there would not have been enough bedding etc for him but I'm sure it would appear if I were to ask. I also had to re-wash the crockery and cutlery as some were not cleaned properly. The best part was when trying to peel spuds and chop them we realized all the handles fell off the knives, annoying but something to laugh about now.
The swimming pool was lovely and not overcrowded and the kids (and hubby) enjoyed the flume. The water walkers looked great but my children did not have a go and beware they cost £5 a go so if you have a few children it can add up. The club house was big and we always managed to get a seat. The entertainment team were great and all the staff on site appeared friendly and the programme throughout the day was good if the kids wanted to join in. The children enjoyed winning the tickets from the machines in the arcade and then cashing them in at the end of the week for toys.
The play area was good for the children and there was plenty to do on-site but you do have to pay extra for a lot of it. We paid £10 to hire a family bike thing where we had to peddle and the kids sat in the front. Down hill was great fun, picking up speed and going over speed bump but OMG going back up those hills was hard, we gave up and got out and pushed! fantastic fun though.
The campsite does allow dogs and most of the owners are responsible but you do come across the odd doggy do. But overall the site was clean and well managed.
The beach is the most amazing beach I have been to. Accessed via the park down a very long path, it was well worth the walk. We actually walked into Perranporth, stopped for a hot chocolate at the beach side cafe and then came back along the cliff top.
Perranporth itself was smallish but well stocked with many shops and 2 convenience stores which are a lot cheaper than the shop on site.
The eateries on site looked good and had some great deals on but we did not use them so can not comment on the food. There are also 2 further pub/cafe areas away from the main room so if you wanted a quieter night it was possible.
The shop on camp was a decent size but not well stocked, we think this was due to it being end of season but we still needed to eat. And the bar in the clubhouse ran out of the offers they had and we could hear the staff say many times 'sorry we have run out of that'. Just because it was the last week of the season we feel they should have still provided the same as throughout the year.
But these were all minor things that did not impact on our holiday in any way. I would definitely return to a Haven camp site and especially Perranporth as it was an ideal base for Newquay, St Ives, Truro and even Falmouth.

We arrived in early September to quite an empty field, only a handful of fellow campers. As we were out of school holidays we expected this but as the days progressed the site was quite full.
Two of the three shower blocks were closed as they had not expected as many guests, but the touring warden and his team did well to try and maintain them. The weather was changeable, but this is the UK. We found all the staff friendly, helpful and approachable.
The pitch sizes were quite good, not too close to each other. Definitely the base to use whilst in this area, easy access to all the lovely beaches, towns and villages.
Bar prices pricey - but this is a holiday park, and the live act on the Wed was excellent. Pizza hmmm. We got a half price deal, so if the price is right we will be returning.

A large site with lots of activities and cafe's. An indoor swimming pool which is great if weather bad. Static caravans are a little close together but some with great views of the sea. The beach is lovely and only a 5 minute walk down over the dunes from the statics. The camping pitches are a good walk away from the beach but level. A nice golf course is right beside the site in amongst the dunes as well. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The town is lovely with lots of places to eat. Several villages and beaches in the area worth a visit.

Spent 4 nights at Perran Sands last week and had a fab time. Although weather wasn't that great there is still a lot to do at the park. You are allocated a pitch which is massive, and there are shower and toilet blocks everywhere. There were cleaners in the blocks each time I visited! electric points in the blocks, I dried my daughters hair for 40p. There is a lovely family pub and restaurant - Carvery is highly recommended! There is a Burger King, Pitza parlour, Spar & gift shop, Laundrette. There are two massive club houses with entertainment and one arcade for the kids. The swimming pool is very clean both indoors and outdoors. There is a range of activities that youy can also pay for, my children did the walking on water in a massive hamster ball and loved it - only £5! Camp site is quiet, clean and huge!
Please visit Newquay for surfing and shopping and Peranporth also has a great town and beach for surfing. We didn't walk to the beach from the park as you need to walk over sand dunes and it didn't look very safe and wasn't an actual path to the beach! If you are looking to spend your nights at the club houses please arrive early, they are full by 7pm and it is a nightmare to get a table after that until about 11pm.

Got a pitch for 30 days (all of may) with EHU for £169 for all 5 of us and dog. Huge, flat pitch close to toilets and few mins walk from the many facilities. We stayed 5 nights then left the tent pitched and returned each weekend to find our tent just as we had left it.
The site was brilliant with the sand dunes by our tent providing hours of entertainment for the 3 kids and dog. With an indoor pool and fantastic beach (yes a fair walk back from beach!)there was plenty of free stuff to do.
Best thing about this site is the size of the pitches and the fact that the management seem happy for you to fit whatever and however many people on them as you can.
Would certainly recommend this site even if you aren't too keen on Haven facilities as here you can take them or leave them.

Had a fab time, nice play parks, brilliant entertainment. Nearby beach, swimming pool, arcades, 3 restaurants. Toilets / showers are clean, shop is good. The main site of the park is about 10min walk from campsite, but well worth it.
The beach is a very steep drop to get to but well worth it. Will definitely return here. The only downfall is the wind, very hard to pitch your tent!

We went to perran sands after leaving France to finish our holiday for 4 nights. The site is very big but despite this we had a fantastic time,
The staff are very nice and the pitches are big in spread out. The toilets and showers were always clean, its a walk up a hill to the beach and then down a lot of steps but well worth it, you have to be fit to walk back up the many steps.
The town is a short drive away, we have been to most haven site and we will be returning to this one next year, would recommend it

Went in may caught that great heatwave we had back then. Had a great time.the tent pitches are a nice distance apart. They are set amongst the sand dunes which the grand kids loved.
The toilets and showers are clean. The club is great, has some good entertainment. The pool is good fun, loved the flume. The on site shop is good.
Only small gripe is what happened to the on site fish and chip shop it seems to have been taken over by a pizza takeaway. Please bring back the chippy.
In all a great site with an excellent beach and surrounding areas.

A large party of us tented here last August. There were 10 of us in 2 large tents (with electric hook up). The tent pitches were very spacious, you didn’t feel like you were on top of each other but you also felt close enough to be able to section off your tents if you wanted to.
Unfortunately for us, the weather was very windy and rainy and just generally unpredictable. It seemed to only be this way on site though as when we went to Newquay and St ives for day trips the weather was fine. It seems Perranporth has its own weather system!
We tried to spend as much time as we could off site but we did use the swimming pool a few times – which wasn’t too crowded at all – and we went to the arcades and spent one night in the club house sampling the entertainment. The kids all enjoyed themselves and I guess that’s the main aim.
The main gripes I have with this site were the toilet facilities. On the day we arrived (a Saturday, which I guess is changeover day for most people) the toilets/shower blocks were dirty. They had a board outside telling you the days the toilets were cleaned - I think it was a Wednesday – and this meant we had to suffer with these dirty conditions for four more days. One day, someone had trodden a load of dog poo into the entrance of the toilets and it stayed there until the toilets were cleaned. I think that the toilets should have been checked each day for toilet roll running out but they weren’t which meant that you had to tackle the dog poo obstacle course until they finally cleaned the whole toilet block. When the toilets were being cleaned we had to walk a short distance to use another block. These toilets were immaculate and I feel we got the raw end of the deal with the toilet block that we had. But why take care of one toilet block but not another? It made no sense to me.
Overall, I would not visit this site again. I’ve tried to be as constructive as I can be in this review.
