Stopped here for 10 days. Weather not too clever but being a seasoned camper that wasn't an issue!
A typical site really with loads of facilities for the kids (nice park/ great pool / arcades etc.). Overpriced bars / restaurants and shops where you need to take out a mortgage to buy a pint of milk etc! But it's to be expected of this site I suppose. Club house is ok, not actually too badly priced for drinks and the entertainment is pretty good. I would imagine it's even better in the peak months!
The best thing about this site is its proximity to Perranporth beach, (IMO the best in Cornwall bar none)It's a steady 20-30 min walk along some very pleasant and scenic cliff tops (alternatively it's a 2 minute drive with reasonably priced parking). Oh, and let's not forget Healey's Cyder Farm at nearby Penhallow - most definitely worth a visit!
Shower blocks are clean and in reasonable condition if a little dated, but have no problems with them.So far!
Overall this is a fantastic site and that is why I'm heading back down there for a fortnight at the end of June, so I'll submit another review having visited during high season!

Overall an enjoyable w/end. We stayed in a Supertent which was quite cheap as we booked the evening before (got it cheaper). If you booked in advance it worked out expensive and we probably wouldn't have paid the prices.
We went to see the entertainment on the Friday - 1st act was ok the 2nd act - terrible, beer expensive, husband said it was like dirty dishwater!
Plenty to do on the site though we didn't have time to do much as only went for 2 nights. Toilets were not too bad bits of loo roll on the floor though the shower was nice, not the cleanest but ok - didn't see anything nasty!.
Breakfast was a con, if you read the bill boards it says you have unlimited tea/coffee with your brekky - it doesn't say you have to pay £1.40 for the 1st cup! Brekky that nice either.
There is a bus that goes onto the site every hour and goes to beautiful Newquay (amongst other places)the last bus back was around 11pm so we spent the whole day in Newquay and went back to our Supertent late(so we missed out on Haven entertainment!)
The site was huge, great if you like walking, not so good if you don't. I would imagine it would be great for kids plenty of play areas and grass/dunes to play on.
For the price that we paid (£80 - sleeps six) in a supertent I would stay here again. Anymore I would rather find somewhere else as the entertainment was rubbish and the facilities are expensive.

Went for the second week of the Easter Hols and our first ever outing in a new touring caravan.
On arrival, found that the touring area reception was closed and had to trek all the way to main reception to get info. Found the pitch we had been allocated was already taken and was told to pick any available pitch (bit annoyed since we were told we had to book a supersize pitch as we have a twin axle and ended up on a regular pitch!). Bit of advice - do not take a pitch near the play area unless you want your van to be used as a goal post.
Toilets were ok. Didn't use shower facilities but seemed ok it a little dated. Would hate to see them in busy period.
It rained one night and the poor tent next to us nearly floated away. Realised at this point that we had pitched in the middle of a dip that collected more than its fair share of water.
Haven people on touring site were v.Helpful and always there if you needed them. Kept the area clean and tidy.
Entertainment / eateries / pool approx 5-10mins walk away. Pool was rather small with hardly any changing facilities - during our time the flume was closed. Couldn't use the Water walkerz as one had split the day before and they had been taken out of action.
Do not eat at the Bar and Grill - waited nearly an hour for food that smelt so bad my husband nearly threw up. Ended up hungry - at least there was a Burger King. Chip shop was good.
Be wary of collecting tickets as you need a million to get a key ring.
Haven seem to be more for their own accommodation rather than tourers which is unfair considering the amount we paid. For the price we paid, would have expected to be closer to facilities and more involved - there were no posters for kids activities or any info regarding what was going on in main site.
The good thing we found was that we used the site as a base to travel the area - Lands End/Newquay/St Ives/Bodmin etc.
Would not go to a Haven site again - not worth the inflated pitch price.

This was the second week of a two week holiday and this site had a lot to live up to after a fantastic first week! On Arrival the staff were really helpful and provided lots of information about the site, surrounding area and our pitch. We were directed to our pitch only to find the driveway leading upto it was completely immersed in water, a good foot! The site maintenance staff had tried their best to deal with it by filling in the ditches with straw but to be honest it wasn't making much of a difference. Not the parks fault obviously as they don't control the weather. The pitch was massive, good job really due to the angle that we had to park the caravan to avoid the water. The Maintenance staff were on hand to help at the slightest problem. As the weather worsened the staff were there with sand bags and protected the tents and awnings of people even when they were out.
The campsite facilities were ok. The toilet/shower block was not great and on occasion was closed for hours on end - when you could eventually get in you wondered what the cleaning staff had actually been doing in there as they were never particularly clean.
There was a park to keep the kids entertained by the pitch.
The site itself was ok there seemed to be plenty of activities, however, there was a charge for most and this did mount up. Over £10 for one game of mini golf (which lasted about 15 minutes). There are plenty of takeaways / cafes on site but due to the sheer number of people staying there they got really busy.
The on site shop is good with plenty of stock and a bakery on site selling fresh bread, pastries etc etc.
The areas is great, Perranporth itself was nice, with a fab beach, great beach bar / restaurant, plenty of takeaways, supermarkets and shops.
The cider farm is good, but just a note you don't have to go on the tour and pay for the privilege. You can just pay a small entrance fee and go around at your own pace.
The Eden project was great for adults but the two children 6 and 9 were bored rigid!
Overall it was ok but as a family we have been put off going back and probably won't go back to a site as big as this in the future.

Well ive just arrived back from perran sands and the weather was wonderful. But to be honest I'm a bit dissapointed.
Good points:
Loads of space on pitch.
Loads of dunes for the children to play around.
Lovely cycling.
A nice distance to walk to perrenporth either via the road or over the dunes.
Childrens park, nice size and I didn't have to sit with them.
Bad points:
Much to far away from the swimming pool and complex.Poor nan cant walk far and had to stay in mums caravan while we had a look around.
Very dirty toilets, we didn't see a cleaner all week and ended up cleaning toilets ourselves or locking doors to the blocked loos.
Showers were filthy as the surfers didn't bother cleaning the sandy floors after themselves, again I ended up cleaning these everytime I visited.
Ive visited a few haven sites but I think this is definitely a case of you only get what you pay for. Probably wont use one again.
We didn't use the bar/restaurants as we were warned against them the day we arrived so I cant comment.

As with every site before we go I always check the reviews on here. After reading the reviews I actually thought about changing site for the 2 week holiday! However, when we arrived at 3:30am on the Saturday, we parked up on the little car park by the touring reception and bunked down till morning.
When we went to the reception we were greeted very nicely and given our pitch before the time specified.
When we got to the pitch I couldn't believe how much space we were afforded! Enough room for my 4x4, caravan with awning and annexe and still plenty of room between us and our neighbours!
The much talked about toilet and shower blocks, ok they could benefit from some modernising but we found them to be adequate they were cleaned daily and yes to be honest I did use them and on one occasion there was no loo roll and there one of the toilets was quite grim! Once again no fault of the site just a problem with some little so and so with no respect.
The site facilities were as expected and we found them to be very good, the entertainment was excellent. The funstars were always friendly polite and helpful. Ok the bar was more expensive than my local but when your considered a captive audience this will always happen!
The walk to the beach is quite steep. For the elderly etc,I would recomend that you get in the car drive into Perranporth park up and walk to the beach, only £3.50 for the day. We actually started to enjoy the walk and did it quite regularly.
Onsite there was a surf hire and tuition shop that was quite cheap. I did a full day tuition with hire of everything included, proper friendly and a fun day. I highly recomend that you try it if you can.

Overall it felt like the campers and tourers were pushed out of the way, although the pitches were big enough for a large tent, car and trailer. Never went to the club, but the main arcade was large, and the food from the chip shop was excellent. However, the campsite shop was over-priced.
The amenities (Showers, toilets etc) really need to be updated and increased in size. The blocks themselves look very older styled and inside are very patched up. Overall there are 3 blocks for the campers, with about 16 showers in total for about 250 pitches. The showers were not very well kept and the cleaners didn’t do a very good job. Some of the toilet stalls themselves were very small too. It was difficult to go in and shut the door behind you.
Be prepared for a long, steep walk to the beach. Going down the path was not an issue but going back it was VERY steep.
Probably wouldn’t visit again as it was not one of the best campsites we’ve visited. Overall, our family rating would be a 7/10.

After reading some of the reviews on this site I was slightly worried about the week I'd booked but, there was no need to worry. Our site was ideal, park nearby for my 6 and 8 year old, yellow shower / toilet blocks close and not too much noise at all. Talking about these blocks, the showers were in perfect working order, one set of the showers (nearest the entrance) were very powerful, like needles and the other set were much gentler but still a good pressure and perfect temperature. The toilets were ok, however they did appear to leak and the flush didn't always work. There were times that they were filthy but I firmly believe that this is due to the filthy people out there who left them in a state after using them, other than that, yes they were slightly grubby but this could probably be resolved with two cleans per day rather than one. The staff were always pleasant, polite and helpful. The children's entertainment was great, I thoroughly enjoyed the evenings from 6pm onwards, as did my children. The swimming pools were fine, lifeguards were great, my little girl was hassled by one little sod whose parents sat and watched but I spoke to a lifeguard and straight away he told the little sod to stop and then another lifeguard went and spoke to the parents, so all good! The parks and play areas were ideal, all in all we had a great stay and will definitely return. The one thing I will say is that the bar prices are quite steep, as are the shop prices (but that is what I expected before the holiday commenced). Whilst we were at Haven we camped in our new 8 man VANGO ALBANY and for the first few days we had glorious sun but after that the heavens opened, the tent was great and withheld the weather and even though it rained heavily we still had a great time. More family quizzes in the day time would be welcomed as there are a few gaps of waiting for the pool to open etc but other than that we had a great time. The children sobbed their little hearts out when it was time to go, this really is a holiday for the children but adults can also have a great time too. Well worth it!

We were cycle touring in torrential rain when we arrived at Perran Sands. The small site up the road would have cost £16 for the two of us so, knowing that big sites often have cheap offers midweek, we enquired at the touring reception. Full marks to the lovely and helpful receptionist who told us that we could have a serviced pitch with ehu (which of course we couldn't use) for £4.76 a night, and invited us to choose which one we wanted. We gratefully stayed two nights and were able to spend time exploring this particularly lovely area. We have no complaints about the toilet block or other facilities we used - they all seemed very clean and well-maintained. The pitch we chose was fairly secluded and sheltered and we did not experience any noise, swearing or bad behaviour. In fact, we were actually rather impressed with the layout and orderliness of the whole Holiday Park and a lot of work seemed to have been done to landscape and preserve the surrounding area. There are fantastic dunes, full of important wildllife, direct access to the wonderful beach. Perranporth is a super little town with an excellent beach for exploring. Nearby there is the historic Smuggler's Den pub and, in St Newlyn East, The Pheasant has a brilliant carvery Sunday lunch time. For other beaches try West Pentire near the very pretty village of Crantock, as well as Newquay.

We spent three nights at this camp site during the week.Touring site is within sand dunes with walking distance to beach and walking distance to pretty village of Perranporth. Also a regular bus service from the camp site to Newquay, Perranporth and St Ives. This is a Haven camp site so it was as expected, expensive and noisy. Toilets were resonable clean as they were cleaned frequently (people always complain about dirty toilets but the users are the ones that leave a disgusting mess). I persoanlly didnt like this camp site as it felt like sleeping in the middle of a desert, pitches werent very even and were close together. Would possible go again but would try to get a more sheltered pitch as we left early because of the site being exposed and the weather very windy.
