Very nice site to come to
We were on pitch 4, we think it is the best pitch to see the barge coming up and down the canal
All the pitches are grass but they are very dry

Easy to find site but narrow entrance but not a problem. Very friendly owner offered loads of advice regarding canal towpath and local pub. Nice walk into Whitchurch via canal.
Cl site is flat and has hook up and separate ladies and gents toilets but a little dated but cleaned every day. No gents shower but ladies have one which apparently I could use if wanted.
Exit is a tight bend so be careful to check nearside mirrors so you don’t get any scratched/damage to you kit. My motorhome is 7. 8 metres but was a goof foot clearance on bend.
Will definitely be visiting again and good value at £16 per night.

Great location next to the 5 locks with a nice cafe across the canal and pubs up the towpath. Cycling to Whitchurch is easy - half way on the towpath and half through housing ( on footpaths).
Shower block closed due to Covid but not an issue for us. Only 3 other units there so quiet.
The main road is close but we didn't notice any traffic noise.
Owner very helpful and this is an inexpensive site.
Will go back!

Very quiet peaceful site, 30 min walk into Whitchurch. Owner very helpful
Explained walking routes to town and nearest pub. Excellent cafe just around corner, ideal location right on canal and locks. Only 5 units in field all spaced out with plenty of room.
Only downside was toilet facilities one toilet for male and female didn't bother us as used own facilities.
Would stay there again when in area.

Perfect spot on the side of the canal at the top of the Grindley locks. All five pitches have a good canal view, electric hookup and a nearby tap. No grey water dump (we were told fine to tip in bushes).
Shower/toilet closed and owner advised will stay closed as too much Covid around and he felt facilities should stay closed. However, those without facilities were given keys to the Canal trust showers and loos on the opposite bank by the campsite. You have to walk down to main road and up the canalpath opposite to use - no crossing from site would say it's a 5 minute walk.
All pitches on grass, good firm ground and grass well cut. The electric tripped out a few times, seemed to be when people plugged in or unplugged. Chem disposal in the former facilities block were open.
45-50 minutes easy walk into Whitchurch along canal. Plenty of quirk shops, cafes and a couple of supermarkets. £5 for taxi back if you have shopping to carry.
Very quiet and peaceful site, just the hum of a constant stream of canal boats using the lock flight. Lovely cafe on opposite side of canal and plenty of walks and cycle routes - including Sandstone Trail
Great site for the canal, £16 a night ( you don't pay extra for using Canal trust facilities).

A lovely little site, extremely well kept, plenty of space, and right by the canal.
Tom, the owner, is great guy, and can't do enough for you - very helpful. Great pub a short walk away.
I shall return.

Having found this site on UKCampsite.co.uk & read the reviews I booked for 5 nights over the Easter holiday. The site doesn't normally open until April but because of how Easter fell Tom allowed us to book from 28th March. I can only reiterate previous reviews, the 5 pitches all have unrestricted views of the Wharf & top lock on the canal and there is always something to look at. The location is handy for the local area, we did two 6 mile circular walks from the site, the dog friendly pub 5min down the road is excellent and to top it off Tom is an extremely friendly and interesting character.
The weather, (beyond Tom's control) made the site very wet, but Tom's collection of tools & machinery rescued anyone in difficulty.
If you want CMC facilities & prices this site probably is not for you, but if you're happy to use your caravan/motorhome as they're intended then give this site a go.

We have just stayed 3 nights on pitch number one, what a fantastic location. The owners are lovely people. You can only book over the telephone and they don't even ask for a deposit. £15 a night, you can't go wrong. It has basic facilities but who cares with a view like this, right on the canal with the benefit of a lock to sit and watch the boats go through. They have even put a couple of benches for you to sit and chill with a drink and watch the world go by.
One of each toilet and the shower is in the ladies, but its no problem, its free.
Great location with a cafe, shop and pub across the road.
Can't wait to return.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

What an amazing 5 pitch caravan site run by Tom & Sue situated right by the canal & Grindley brook locks. We were greeted by Tom & taken to our pitch right next to the canal & shown the best way to pitch our caravan to get the best view & then given a run down on the area. Once settled we ventured for a lovely walk along the canal, opposite is a lovely cafe & a little further along the canal is a shop & garage & two pubs, one situated by the garage & another further along the canal. Walking in the opposite direction is Whitchurch. The pitches are flat grassed areas & very large all laid out so that each pitch has a good view of the canal. Their are a ladies & gents toilet immaculately clean, also a shower included in the cost of £15 per night. We enjoyed our stay that much that we didn't need to use the car once & have returned home completely rested. This is our first visit & we will definitely be returning again very soon! If you have dogs you will not find a better site.
