This was the second time we stayed here, and was just as brilliant. With only 5 units allowed, there is plenty of space. There are hook ups, a toilet and a shower, always kept spotlessly clean by Sue, who with her husband Tom, run this site. Both Tom & Sue always have time to stop and have a chat.
There is an excellent cafe and shop alongside the locks, which is adjacent to the site. Five minutes down the road, there is a pub and opposite that, there is a garage which also has a well stocked shop, and it sells calor gas. A couple of miles along the towpath you come to the town of Whitchurch for more general shopping. We tow a Smart car, so we are spoilt for choice, with Chester 18 miles away. Next time we go though, we shall park in the Park & Ride at £1.70 per person, as opposed to £4 for 2 hours in a car park.
The only downside to this site is if you want to include a weekend in your break, then I advise you to book early, it is a very popular little site, and we have already booked up to return in July. We can't wait.

June 2005 I couldn't agree more with Rikster. This is a very beautiful site that is very well looked after and very secure.
The showers take a 50p but it lasts for ages and was hot and clean! The canal side shop is very smart, trendy and also immaculately clean. It serves a wonderful cappuccino and has internet access (£1 per 15 mins, £3 per hour). It also sells wine and spirits. Very pleasant evening spent sipping a glass of wine watching the boats go by.
Tom and Sue are very friendly and relaxed and couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome. Will definately be returning.

September 2004 A wonderful setting for a 5 van site. Next to the top lock, there is a steady flow of narrow boats chugging past. A must for canal buffs or anyone keen on a slower pace of life. The site is kept immaculate & has picnic benches beside the canal. The towpath is on the opposite bank offering a 1.5 mile walk/cycle to Whitchurch. There is also a tearoom, garage/shop & pub with grub nearby. A site we will be returning to time & again.
