Spent 3 nights here with our 2 young boys. The owners were very friendly and didn't mind that we hadn't booked. We will do next time though as it seemed they are a popular site.
We loved the geese/ducks wandering about and the rabbits and guinea pigs which the owners didn't seem to mind older children getting out of their hutches! Although the site is surrounded by water we found where we pitched was safe for the boys to play, so no constant worrying. There was also some play equipment belonging to the owners which they didn't mind us using, which was really nice.
The toilets/showers were cleaner than many I have seen and it was nice that there are laundry and ice block facilities available - although we didn't find the latter until it was a bit late!
A well-stocked shop selling all the essentials like wine, newspapers and BBQs. We would definitely return, would recommend this one to anyone. The village pub serves gorgeous food, quite pricey but OK for one night! And there is a lovely little playground in the very quiet village.
There were some tents with hook ups but we didn't need one so were in the smaller field, which I think would have been quieter than the other so we liked it.
Thoroughly recommended!

Lovely location and great shop. The details state that dogs must be kept on a lead but none were and they were running all over the place, doing their business where they chose.
Other reviewers commented on the cleanliness of the facilities but unfortunately they were not good this bank holiday. The female facilities were cleaned daily and were okay but the male facilities were not touched for 3 days and were disgusting. The pot wash area was filthy and too small for a site with 30+ pitches. The only place for dried items was on the floor adjacent to the chemical toilet disposal point!
Very picturesque but let down very badly by facilities. The price is steep in view of the lack of decent, clean facilities.

We visited Island Meadow for our first foray into camping with our children - aged 5, nearly 3 and 15 months and found it to be an excellent family site.
Lots for the children to play with and explore including the owners pets and outdoor toys.
There are 2 small meadow/field areas for tents without EHU which are very pretty. The main area has statics around the edge and a large central area for tourers and EHU pitches.
There had been alot of rain, and our non-EHU area was quite muddy, and I was impressed that the owners were trying to postpone other campers for a day or so in order to let it all dry out - they certainly don't just think of the income!
The shop is extremely well stocked and very reasonably priced - complete with fresh bread, cakes, pastries and daily papers to order in.
Well recommended!

Fantastic site great for children with the playground and pets. The facilities were very clean with plenty of toilets and lovely warm showers. Our children loved the fact that their was bikes/go-carts etc to play with. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the pitches were spaced out well and were a good size. The on site shop had most things needed for your stay priced at good prices.
We enjoyed this campsite so much we went back within the same week! and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

We found the site very accommodating and ideally situated for visiting the Warwickshire sites (Stratford on Avon etc)
The pitches are between mature trees and this allows you to gain some shelter from both the weather and other site users. The site is well maintained and has several types of feathered wildlife roaming which adds to the interest.
There is a good shop and the owners are very helpful.
Although there is only one shower for the men we found that there wasn't much of a wait in the morning.
Some reasonable fishing on site.
In all well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful, serene, family friendly campsite.
We arrived on a very busy day and were given the last available pitch which was the most picturesque I have ever seen. The 2 fields for tents a dotted with large trees which we pitched near, giving us a little private 'den' to 'live' in.
Chickens, ducks and geese mooch around the whole site - our daughter was in her element - and along with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and newly hatched ducklings, it is a great site for young children.
On the down side, we were pitched near to some ery deep water, and although sign-posted, it would still be very easy for an exhuberant toddler to slip in.
The shop is great - everything you could possibly need including some fantastic locally baked cakes and breads and eggs laid by the afore mentioned chickens. Can't get fresher!
The family that run the site are lovely. We were walked to our pitch and asked if we needed milk, bread or papers in the morning. The family's kids' toys are available to use - go-carts, bikes, climbing frames etc. The kids were quite noisy until late into the evening, but that is the result of a beautiful hot sunny day at the beginning of the summer hols I guess (and only an issue for us when trying to get a stroppy toddler to sleep!)
Toilet / shower block is near and functional. Small, basic and in need of a bit of an update, only 1 shower each - but clean and tidy.
Were very very sorry to leave and will definitely be going back very soon. Highly recommended.
Perfect place to go with the Grandparents who say they are too old to camp - they can have one of the many static vans there and we'll hide under our tree again!

This site was wonderful for us because although we have a tent, this visit was with the whole of my wife's family - incorporating tourers and static-dwellers. The site was able to accommodate all of us and our tent pitch was very spacious and pleasant. The shop was well stocked, including home made cakes and pastries.
Plenty for the children to do with a play area, birds and animals to pester and a large grassy area inside the ring of tourers. Just had to warn them not to stray towards the river without an adult.
Some were unhappy that there was no club on site, however we viewed this as a plus. It's little more than 5 minutes walk to Aston Cantlow with a pub and village club open to non-members.
The one drawback we found was that there is only one basin for washing pots, although you can get around this by taking your own bowl.

Very helpful on booking and accomodated us at short notice - they checked site to ensure a large pitch and got back to us promptly - A+ for customer service.
Price £17.50 for 2 adults, 2 children with EHU.
Nice location with space for children to play in middle of main camping area BUT beware odd bit dog mess from inconsiderate visitors - we found it!
Statics seem well kept and many look great - positioned around edge of site and well kept by and large - they don't impose on tourers / tents etc.
Toilet block adequate - washing up area only 1 sink, so be prepared to wait a short while.
Near to Wilmcote and we have eaten (and stayed at) pub opposite Mary Arden's house - a nice visit.
Would return for a short stay again.

Excellent campsite with friendly owners, asked if we wanted fresh bread or morning papers!
Very good pitch with all vans in a circle,(good for being nosy)
Good for children with small swing, treehouse, slide and the chickens, ducks, geese, all walking about as well as rabbits and guinea pigs,
Excellent shop on site which sells everything including alcohol and is very well priced for every thing, we were told about pubs and takeways but to be honest didnt leave the site.
We even got free pizza from the owners
Showers good, toilets clean, free hairdryer and use of washing machine and tumble dryer.
Already booked a return visit

This was a randomly picked camp site that just happened to be close to where we were picking up a new awning. Arrived Saturday evening after phoning en-route to check spaces. Very friendly owners shop fully open in March! Eggs fresh from free range chickens (duck eggs, fresh bread, cakes, papers and much more also available) Chickens, ducks, geese and Murphy roaming free. Phone number provided for local pub, rang ahead and seems we were lucky to reserve a table in the snug for 7.30pm. (The actual restaurant doesn't serve until 8.00pm and was fully booked, but bar and snug serve same menu.). Excellent food.
Facilities very clean and warm, essential at 6.30am in March! Despite the weather forecast the weather was perfect for a sunny early morning stroll. Lovely walks around with numerous types of birds singing their hearts out, and we saw a kingfisher flying along the camp site river.
It was very quiet, being so early in season, but pitches appeared well spaced so would imagine even when busy would be pleasant. Did only seem to be 3 showers, again no problem when quiet, but may be difficult if site busier. Although our little Bongo is tiny and most bigger vans have their own showers.
A first class stay we loved it.
