Chose this site for a one night break away based on the great feedback it had recieved on this site and we weren't disappointed.
The campsite has basic but clean toilet and shower units, a great little shop and although we didnt try any, yum looking scones and cakes for sale. The noticeboard gives details of how and where to catch a bus to Stratford upon Avon or Alcester, plus mentions tennis courts being nearby.
Its only a few minutes walk to the local Aston Cantlow village. The Kings Head won the Pub Guide County Award for 2007 and is very popular for meals on a saturday night - so much so that we couldnt get a table as they were fully booked and don't quite understand the notion of an early sitting.
Just across the road is the working mens club which allow non members to use it too. Really friendly people, cheap drinks (pint of beer and a large wine for £5!) and some cold sandwiches / rolls. They might do hot food later in the season but not at the mo. They do have takeaway menus handy though and the locals all offer advice on whats good! there's a pay phone available and you can get your food delivered to the club or to the campsite.
My only gripe is that dog owners at campsites really should pick up after their animals as we had to watch where we were walking to avoid stepping in messes a couple of times. Other than that, its a great place to stay and we will use it again if we are up that way again.

We Have just spent a very enjoyable week in our tent on Island Meadow and we loved every minute!
Easy to find, extremely helpful and friendly owners, clean facilities and very peaceful since we were the only campers there. The sound of the weir behind our tent was very relaxing, we had the tent field to ourselves, but by far the highlight had to be the geese, ducks and chickens that came for breakfast every morning! To hear them calling every morning for breakfast and to see them in the porch of our tent was most amusing, we didn't want to leave them behind! Also, their resident dog, cats and guinea pigs are adorable and we hope the chicks that hatched and the baby guinea pigs that all arrived the day before we left are all doing well! Well situated for most places. We visited Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Evesham and Worcester during our week. Plus my Mum and I went on a glorius walk over the fields in the sunshine. The weather could not be beaten and was better than our hols in June. It was so mild all our worries about camping so late in the year for the first time were unfounded, much to our relief!
All in all it was a top holiday on a top campsite that we could not find fault with. If you are looking for a small, friendly and peaceful site go to Island Meadow. We shall be next year, can't wait already!

This is a lovely site surrounding the owner's house with a small but very good shop, lots of geese, guinea pigs and rabbits to amuse the children! Kindly allowed us to pack up late due to rain, owners very friendly and helpful. Toilet block basic but clean, a bit awkward because no hooks to hang things up in the showers but plastic chairs are provided instead. A very nice site.

Went to this site for two nights. Really made to feel welcome. Site is kept really nice & clean. Will be going back with the grandchildren as soon as I can. Nice play area for children. Shower block & toilets always clean. Well stocked shop, (they even gave us some cream they had left over from their tea to go with our scones!) Plenty of space for camper & awning. Even has a coin operated washing machine & tumble dryer! Local pub a short walk away that do food. We did not eat there as it seems to have 'fancy food' of an evening & all we wanted was a snack. Locals were really friendly.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Island Meadow and give it 10/10. It is so pretty, with the little river surrounding the meadow and the ducks were great fun. The owners are very helpful and the facilities are lovely and clean. The site is well situated for Stratford-upon-Avon but if you want to stay closer to home, we found the locals in Aston Cantlow so friendly and welcoming (lovely club - very child-friendly). We definitely intend to return again next year and wouldn't hesititate in recommending this campsite.

The site was lovely and quiet and we were very pleased with the friendly atmosphere and the owners were great as well. As far as tents are concerned there are two small fields, one by the entrance and one near a river further in to the camp site. We were in the second field, apart from the running water in the river it is very quiet, no road noise or anything. The river is not fenced off so you will need to keep a very very close eye on younger children. The site has a small shop which has a good range of essentials and sweets that the kids liked. There is a small play area with a climbing frame and swings. There is also dish washing facilities, one shower for men and separate showers for women. The showers were no extra charge and there was plenty of hot water. All were found to be clean. All in all, for the money you will struggle to beat this site. I'd therefore recommend.

We have just come back from a weekend at this fantastic site. The weather was gorgeous which was a plus sign. The site has one shower block each for male and females with plenty of showers, loos and wash basins. They also provide a hair dryer in the ladies. There are plenty of water points and rubbish bins plus recycling all around the site. The owners are very helpful and extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They have a little shop for all your basic supplies (bread, bacon, milk, morning paper and of course wine/beers) and they also have freshly baked cakes for sale too. A short walk via the village church you will find pub serving fantastic food and wines, recommend booking on Friday and Saturday. There is also the village social club where all are welcome. They have statics and accommodate tourers and tents. All in all this is a very relaxing and well run campsite, and we are looking forward to going back for a week in August

We spent our first ever camping trip there, albeit just one night we had a fantastic time at this site with our 2 small children. The owners are lovely and very helpful people and we found the facilities to be very clean, no queuing for showers even though the site was full during our visit. The kids play area is great! Excellent campsite on the river, the ducks are an added bonus and always very hungry. We definitely plan to return when the weather is warmer at night as it was Freezing the night we stayed! (well suppose we should have expected this being April)

We visited bank holiday weekend, and even though the site was fully booked it was still fairly quiet! Found it a lovely location, very picturesque! Everyone was really friendly! The site had a lovely shop, had all the things you could need! And there is a lovely pub 5minutes walk away, and a children's playground as well! And the toilet facilities were lovely and clean, with washing machines you could use, and a washing up area for plates also! I would happily recommend this site to everyone, you can easily access Stratford, Henley and Warwick from it giving you many choices for days out! 10 out 10 for this site! Would definitely visit again!

Stayed here last year & assume it's of the same quality still - ace site - clean, lots of room, fairly quiet (boring, I Know!), good little play area, top pub & playground a short walk away in Aston Cantlow. Went to Warwick Castle whist we were there - v.v.recommended. Hope the little boy who has the accident in the burning tent was ok though.
