Very relaxed campsite. We have stayed here 3 or 4 times already. Katherine the owner is a phenomenon - energetic, efficient, cheerful and helpful.
The site is nicely located in a bend in the river.
The riverside pitches are all taken with the static caravans and pods but you can cross over on a wooden bridge and walk around the fields on the other side.
There is also a charming short 10-min walkway from the site, through a churchyard, into the local village with its pubs and historic houses. The atmosphere of the site is friendly and welcoming.
The shop/cafe is amazingly well stocked with everything you could desire including fresh pastries, and Katherine makes a nice capuccino!
We loved all the rescued furry and feathered friends: ducks, swans, geese, chickens, cats, dogs, guinea pigs. Loads of room for our motorhome with water and recycling nearby.
Plenty of space for kids to play, ride bikes, etc. Tents are in their own field near the house.
Groups of cyclists often stopover for short stays or just for breakfast!
There is no public transport which was a restriction for us (one of us doesn't drive).
At £33/night it is not cheap but well worth the money because it is such a pleasant place to stay. We will be back!

As always a great visit to Island Meadow.
We love the fact it is surrounded by the lovely river and is so quiet within easy walking distance to the pub.
The shop is amazing with lots of local bakery, cakes, lemon meringue pie looked fantastic.
Very minor gripes no dispenser for paper towels or hand drier in men's loos and the wooden walkway to the lovely Weir needs some repair.

My second stay here and another really enjoyable one.
Katherine is amazingly accommodating and the facilities are spot on.
10 mins walk to a lovely pub tops it all off.

A lovely friendly campsite. I loved the nature-friendly planting, although the pretty on site chickens kept the insect numbers down. A well-stocked shop with fresh pastries and vegetables daily.
Toilet block was always clean, and even on a bank holiday weekend there was hardly any queues for showers. The showers were adequate, but not luxurious by any stretch.
Little touches like a step stool for kids to reach the sink were handy.
The hot water was VERY hot, turning the thermostat down would be preferable, especially as the sinks had separate (not mixer) taps.
The bolts on the toilet doors were tricky for little kids.

A very pleasant couple of days on a short cycle tour.
Island Meadow is an attractive campsite in a very pretty village. Tent campers are mostly in two areas quite separate from the statics area, and next to the big house.
The facilities are fine, and very clean. I really appreciated the shop, which is even better than it used to be.
You can even get a coffee and pastries before you set off!
The site owner, Katherine, is down-to-earth and kind.

Nice little site easy access and very helpful staff,
There is a lovely shop on site, operated as a community facility for the village selling great produce, please don't take loads of supplies with you and use the on site shop to help the local community retain this service, prices are good and quality is great.
Nice walks around the area locally and an easy walk to the local pub where again the food and service was great.

Amazing. We were a bit worried when we booked, as it looks like a big caravan park and we were worried we would be swallowed among them. However, the tent section is separated from the rest of the site, a short walk from the immaculately clean facilities. They have a freezer for your ice blocks, dish washing room supplied with drying racks and bowls.
The main added value to this place is the lovely owner, running the site shop that stocks fresh produce at a very fair price, and the river around the site - perfect for bathing in the hot summer days.
A short hop from the cotswolds, we will definitely use it as our base in the future.

Spent may bank holiday site full
Chickens run about and their droppings walk into the toilet block, !
Facilities were very outdated and not cleaned everyday.
The womens block had a horrible smell.
Old towels to wipe your hands certainly not hygienic.
Washing up area very dirty. Sinks left dirty.
Noisey one night with nobody on patrol to ask for the loud music to be turned down
Not value for the cost
Certainly would not recommend this site.

Have visited this beautiful site several times now. Owners are tremendously welcoming, friendly and helpful. The facilities are immaculately clean. We have never visited to find them dirty. Rubbish bins dotted around the site are emptied several times a day.
It is somewhere we will always come back to.
I have never experienced rowdy or noisy neighbours, on the contrary I have always found it to be restful and tranquil.
