Chose to go for a weekend with friends to this campsite at short notice. It isn't too far away from where we live but as it was only a weekend, we didn't want to go far. We chose a lovely weekend, weather wise and had a relaxed time. The campsite is virtually at the end of a small dead end road, a short walk to the river.
Apart from one other motor home, us and our friends were the only people on there. There were half a dozen seasonal caravans on site and only one of these had overnight visitors. We had the site pretty much to ourselves. It is a smallish site, nicely maintained with a modern, clean shower and toilet block, albeit no heating! The showers are free with a box for donations. There is also a pot washing area and lots of info on the local area in the same building.
No recycling facilities as apparently the local council arn't interested, which is a shame as at home it's instilled into us, so seems wrong somehow not to do it! No separate facilities either for dog waste.
Potter Heigham is two minutes drive away and on the Sunday, we decided on the spur of the moment, to take a dayboat out from here. Very enjoyable! We also had fish and chips from Potter Heigham on the Friday evening when we arrived. All freshly cooked to order and was very good value. Went to Gt. Yarmouth on the Saturday. OK if you like that sort of thing! On Sunday evening we went to The Bridge Inn at Acle for our evening meal. What a find! If you have children then this is the pub to go to as they are well catered for. Although we don't have a young family, it wasn't full of unruly children, far from it. The pub was very busy but they still found a table for 5 adults straight away. Extremely good value with friendly staff and dog friendly too.

2 of us stayed here for a week with our dog. Lovely site - extremely friendly and helpful owners. We were in the overflow field, which to be honest we would request to stay on if we come again - it's as close to the facilities as much of the rest of the site but is much smaller and quieter. Facilities are great - clean & modern (especially the ladies'). Very few rules - it's all done on trust and this seems to be well respected. Very quiet location at the end of a dead-end lane which finishes by the river. It was lovely to wander 5 minutes down the lane to the watch the river activity at any time of day. A bit of drive to get supplies - we got most things from the petrol station back on the main road. Lots of walking opportunities from the site. If you're there when it's open, check out the windmachine museum which is next door to the site - fascinating.

Just returned after 4 days from this site and was very pleased. Firstly the owners, very polite and at hand for any information or help. I had tried several in the area but all I got was sorry fully booked. Here the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. We were told at first we may need to move pitches for our stay which I was ok with but by the time we had arrived they had sorted it out so we could keep the same pitch for our full stay. The site is very clean and quiet. We visited several places on the broads whilst we were there, also Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft which are in easy driving distance. The best place was literally a few hundred yards from the site. A small picnic area at the side of the broads just up from Potter heigham. We sat there every night with a couple of drinks watching the sunset in peaceful surroundings. We will only ever go back to a site for a return visit if we think its well worth it and we WILL be going back here.
Reviews are sometimes the only way you get the feel of a site and I recommend here.
See you again soon.

Firstly, apologies for the delay. Selfishness really. I don't want too many other people to know how lovely this site is.
It seems as if the site is in the middle of no-where but really it is in an ideal position. Within 20 minutes drive of coastal resorts, and plenty of local towns (Stalham, Martham, etc. ) whils being on the doorstep of the Broads. A 20 minute riverside stroll takes you to Potter Heigham with one of the best bakeries I've ever enjoyed.
We knew that we were going to enjoy this site, when the ice cream van turned up at the perfect moment whilst pitching - a good time to take a break. The facilities are everything that can be asked for.
It is only due to other circumstances that we are not returning this year, but we shall be back.

As this was my 4th visit in the last couple of years I thought it high time I left a review.
An absolute GEM of a site who's owners are always around to help should you need it. I even witnessed one of their family reversing a caravan into their pitch for a couple who were new to caravanning! Nothing is too much trouble. The site is immaculately kept and the facilities are always clean. Each pitch has a 16A EHU included in the very reasonable price. As others have said the site is peaceful and quiet with lovely river and marshland walks right on the doorstep. Saw owls and marsh harriers every day/night along with many other birds and animals. Walk in the other direction and in about 20 mins your'e in Potter Heigham where you can replenish your supplies without needing to get in the car. On each visit there has been a good mix of tents, caravans and motor homes and despite the site being quite full this time I never had to wait for a shower, although once or twice I had to wait to use the pot washing facilities which are in the same block, lit and undercover and with a freezer for your ice blocks should you require it (I did in last weeks heat!)
I have stayed on this site in a variety of weathers, last July I was there and it rained all week and the pitch we were in was quite flooded and became boggy in our porch area although most of the other pitches didn't suffer as badly. Jim did try to alleviate the problem by digging drainage trenches between the pitches but it was a losing battle with the water table being so high. I was more concerned with us 'wrecking' the ground but Kandy told us not to worry about it. Having discovered this wonderful site I don't think I would go anywhere else when in Norfolk. I just hope that following this review, next time I am wanting to go it isnt booked up!

We arrived at Willowcroft Camping and Caravan park and were greeted by the Owners Son inlaw. He was very polite and helpful and showed us to our pitches which were flat and spacious with electric.
The site is lovely and clean and well maintained and very quiet and peaceful, the river was a five minute walk away and we fished from the picnic area or from the boat mooring.
The locals were very friendly and helpful and happy to give us the info on the local things to do and see.
The owners gave us a Taxi number All Abroad private Taxi hire Service and the driver Called Rupert was the most friendly cabbie you could meet 01692 670 058/07754 327 388. He knows the site and we had trips out to Wroxham and Potter Heigham and the local pubs, leave the car at the campsite and have a few, very good rates and service.
We hired a dayboat for 3 days and moored up a the boat moorings and had no problems.
We would stay at this site again when we revisit the area. Weldone to the owners and Thankyou.

We have just spent another 5days at willowcroft this is the second time we have been to this site.
They have upgraded the toilets and showers its Very clean the owners could not be more helpful if you should need anything,
Children can play safe. Its also possible to walk along the riverside to the shops,
Great Yarmouth is 10 miles away but its a good road we had no hold ups and should you want to you visit.
We had a brilliant stay. We walked the dog along the river footpath in the evening and saw Owls, Herrons and lots of wildlife
We will at some stage go back as we really did enjoy our stay.

We have arrived home today after a 5 night stay at willow croft. We had a great time Jim and Kandy were very welcoming and helpful and were always around for us.
The campsite is in a lovely setting with a 2 min walk from the broads it is very well kept, clean and tidy.
The toilet/shower block was always clean and is very modern with lovely large showers.
We took 2 dogs who had lots of space on our pitch. It was also child friendly and was asked to join in with the local snail racing and fete.
Will hopefully be going again very soon we all had a great time

We arrived on a wet Bank Holiday Monday to an almost full site. The owner (Jim) showed us to our plot and was very welcoming. We parked but then had to drive to the far side of the site to fill with water before re-parking. We are new to this and have to learn to find the tap first! There are 3 taps on site but Jim said he was considering making more 'serviced pitches'.
Our plot was fairly soggy, but it had been raining solidly for the past 24 hours and most of the previous week! However, by the Thursday night, after even more rain, we had a small pond forming which was also forming under our friends tent. A few other pitches seemed affected but not all. Most of the rain seemed to drain after about 12 hours, but the rain would not let up. In less extreme weather this would not be a problem. When the sun did shine the site was beautiful.
The toilet/shower block was lovely. There are 3 showers and 4 loos with sinks in the ladies - kept stocked with paper & soap. Plugs available for hair-dryers etc which was good. There is an Elsan point and one covered washing up sink which had queues at peak times as the site was so busy - but the water was hot and everything was clean. There were tourist leaflets and second hand books/magazines in this area too.
It takes just a few minutes walk down the road to reach the broads and other campers had boats & kayaks that they could tow by hand from the site to the slipway. We carried our kayak and it was an easy entry point. Day boats can also be hired from nearby Potter Heigham (walkable from the site).
The coast at Horsey (near the Windpump) is a short drive away where seals can be seen playing in the sea.
Overall this is a lovely site and the owners are extremely helpful. I would recommend it.

Jewel in the Crown. Lovely little campsite away from the noise of the road, 2 minutes to The Broads where you can walk into Potter Heigham where you will find Lathams store which sells everything from fresh bread daily to a small safety pin. Kandy and Jim, who own the site cannot do too much for you. Site exceptionally clean, no rubbish anywhere. Toilets and showers spotless. There are a couple of pubs within a couple of miles who serve lovely pub grub. You can hire a boat in Potter Heigham if you want to have a day sailing on the Broads. My sister and her husband are bringing their caravan back along with us with our caravan for three weeks this year as it is a great place to be based for visiting the surrounding areas in Norfolk. Super little site.
