I have just been to this site with my kids and another family and was very impressed. It has a river the kids caught plenty fish, great play area and games room. Toilets blocks are nice, take away is great (had a nice full English for breakfast).

Only disadvantage was no electric hook up for tents but I can cope with that.

We will definitely be returning.

A lovely well kept site and quiet and relaxing too. We had booked for one night and stayed for five.

Grass was kept well mown.

The staff were so helpful; a young man showed us to our pitch and had the 'van unhitched for me before I could get out the car! He then showed us all the facilities.

There was not much for kids but then we don't have any!

Showers were clean and hot water was plentiful.

The shop range was a bit limited and the take-away had closed for the season (it was mid-week)

The staff recommended 'The Farmers Arms' in the nearby village and it did great food. I am happy to recommend it too.

Richmond was pretty and had a good range of restaurants too.

I would certainly go back if I was in the area again.

We stayed here in August as one of our bases on our Coast to Coast walk moving to this site from Ambleside. We were here for a week with my family in my caravan, my In Laws in their caravan and my brother in law and his family staying in the cottage on site. From the minute we arrived we knew we had a good site, check in was quick and friendly. We were helped to site the van and everything explained to us. Throughout the week the couple who ran this site were helpful and cheerful (even after a long day when checking the toilet blocks at 11pm). The location is great for Richmond, Rippon and York and of course for walking. The site has good clean facilities, a small play area which my girls loved and of course the river which they swam in most days. Although a busy site everything quietened down every evening before 10.00. A great site, great service, we'll be back!

We stayed here for a couple of wet nights in June.

We loved the site. It has a great play area for the kids and a takeaway on site that is ideal if you don't want to cook. It is a large site so there are always children for your own to play with.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and tidy.

The downsides are that it is not a quiet site and I would really think twice about visiting if you don't have children or are wanting to escape to somewhere peaceful. It suited us as we were not in either of these groups!

Also the site is prone to flooding so when we booked to return a few weeks later our visit was cancelled at last minute due to flooding. Fortunately we'd only planned a one night visit so could get in elsewhere.

Overall this a great site for children and escaping with friends.

Just returned from a four night stay at this beautiful site. We stayed in our 8 man tent next to the river closely situated to all facilities.

The toilets and shower blocks were clean and tidy and the showers were free bonus!

The play park was a bit young for my lot ( all teenagers) but the river more than made up for this as we only saw the kids when they were hungry!

The camp is only a short walk from Richmond, which I recommend you do, along the old railway line. There was lots of information in the reception of things going on locally although we stayed on site most days and relaxed.

The atmosphere around the site is brilliant everyone mixed together and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

The take away on site is fab too with lots of specials on offer at reasonable prices.

Would definitely stay here again in fact the kids are insisting on it!

First time visit to this site. My dad wanted to go with me and the boys so chose this site as it was not too far from home as my dad suffers from heart and chest problems. The site is well run the grass is well kept and the ground is very level. The shower block is good water is very hot thought the shower rooms would be better with something to sit on as I suffer from a spine condition and a couple more pegs for hanging towels etc would be good.

The washing area is outside which is fine but thought the old wooden type tops were not very hygienic again water was very hot. There is a smashing food takeaway on the site and the food is really good. Play area for the children plus a nice games room with a couple of pool tables also a river running through the site which is very shallow in places you can also go fishing for a small fee. If you do go fishing there are chub and trout in the stretch but in small numbers.

I found the site to be very safe for my boys who are 11 and 9 also the knock off point for noise was around 10pm which was really good. We will be going back to this site very soon to try out my new tent.

This park is lovely and clean and the staff are very helpful. The manager / owner of the site takes you down to the pitch and I even saw him helping people to get their caravans onto their pitches and put the brake on. He gives you a full run down of where the facilities are, what the shop offers and what time the takeaway opens and closes.

The toilet and showers were very clean whatever time of day or night you visited. You need to pay a £10 deposit for a toilet key and barrier key but this is returned when you leave.

There is a river that runs along the bottom of the site - you can hear the river running on a night time but within a few minutes of our heads hitting the pillow we were asleep.

We will definitely be returning to this park.

Well what can I say that hasn't been said already.

Paid a couple of visits to brompton and have another in view. Fantastic site very clean,

Rubbish collected a couple of times a day from easy reached bins, toilet and showers warm and clean, take away menu more than enough choice if you don't feel like cooking, best chips around.

View of the river fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect place to put your feet up and watch the grass grow.

Although I have no children they all seemed to be having a great time

Stayed here for 3 nights and found it very friendly and welcoming. We we're pitched next to the river bank which was great for a dip in the river ( not always suitable for young children, so be careful).

The entire site was always spotlessly clean of all rubbish, the toilet and shower blocks were always clean with plenty of hot water.

Great location as catterick and richmond both a 5 minute drive away.

Site shop well stocked, and even though we didn't try the on site take away it looked nice and was busy.

Would fully recommend this site and will certainly visit it again.

Had a great weekend at Brompton, all staff were very friendly. Toilets and showers were very clean and tidy. Take away is very handy.

Nice walk into Richmond. Supermarket in Catterick about 1 mile away. Plenty room for tent and car on pitch.

Could do with electric hook ups for tents and larger washing up area.
