Third visit to site and although we love the scenery setting pubs in village standards are slipping
The price has gone up and although not by much for the price you expect high standards - the showers are awful the toilets worse and the play frame ground needs updating
The village itself has lost the friendly little man making pizzas on a Saturday and now has a deli - think they still do pizzas but lost a lot of charm - the three pubs have now become two sign of the times I guess.
Shame really lovely location but I think the amount of people on site are causing the facilities and the warden to be unable to cope. I think they should lower the price increase the space improve the facilities and the warden should listen instead of going off on one.
Wont return better cheaper sites will miss the views though.

This is a beautiful site with outstanding scenic views . The facilities are adequate (the showers are not the best, but are clean) The play park is ok ,although it could do to be upgraded like the park at The Flower of May site , which is also owned by the same company.
The stream running through the park was the main attraction for our party , offering hours of fun on the rope swings and walking through the stream. There are 2 pubs within walking distance from the park , which were both good and child friendly.
The lovely village of Hutton-Le-Hole is only a few miles away and worth a visit. This park is a walkers paradise surrounded by hills and fantastic walks.
There is no mobile phone signal on the camp and the tv reception is poor.
Overall , it is a good camp and we will definitely be returning in the future.

Just wanted to add that have returned to this site (previous review just below) and what a difference in shower block. Showers were working fine. Campsite was a little bit quieter. But as we said this is by far our most prettiest / picturesque campsite we have ever been too!
Also went to the pub just outside campsite, menu was excellent and they allow kids in it till 9:30 at night, which is good if weather not so good!

We really enjoyed our stay on this lovely campsite. It was much nicer than we were expecting from the website. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as we checked in, explaining where we might want to pitch for a quiet spot! We took their advice, setting up in the Meadow (furthest field) by a pond which had the most adorable ducklings bobbing about on it and opposite the stream. However, this picturesque setting did mean there were a few midges on the loose but the shop sells citronella candles which helped.
There were ample toilets/showers which were always clean, although the floors got a bit muddy. Ample hot water too for the washing up sinks. However, the showers were rather erratic, possibly due to low water pressure and didn't maintain a consistent temperature.
There were two little tea rooms/shops in the village which we made use of (one more of a deli with local produce), and we went for a drink at the Coachhouse Inn which had a large courtyard. There are also books you can get for walks from the village but it was so hot we opted for more lounging about than usual.
Although the site couldn't have been far off full, there was a good atmosphere and a feeling of space. Most people friendly, children playing happily but no excessive noise or disturbance and mornings / after 11 pm perfectly quiet.
All in all,a fab site and would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for three nights during Spring Bank. It was our first camping adventure and found it a very good site for first time campers.
The staff were very helpful and the site is set in a lovely location. We went for a pitch with electric hook up, No 10 and found that the pitch was suitable for our tent 4x7 Metres.
The toilets and showers were nice and clean, just a bit of a problem with muddy shoes when it was wet outside.
There are a couple of nice pubs within a 5 min walk that serve very nice food at reasonable prices, the beer is fine too!
There are some lovely walks and there is plenty for the kids to do. The only problem was that the play area can be a little noisy late on 23:00, it needs policing a little or parents need to check were their children are.
On a whole this is a lovely campsite and we will return again.

Myself, husband and three kids aged 6, 13 and 14 camped at Rosedale Park for 4 nights a couple of years ago. We loved it, it had all the right ingredients for a good family holiday. The site was clean, everyone used the many bins provided and I found the showers great although I was the only one to use this facility.
It was only my second time camping so I didn't know stuff like how far apart tents have to be or where the car should be parked so we just copied off other people and other campers put us right with our tent as we were pitching.
The river was the best attraction and now I know why wellys or crocs are essential for the kids. We went with other family so we used the good size playing field for rounders/football, it was proper quality fun.
We only left the site a couple of times to go to the little local shop that had weird opening times but there was a milk float that came onto site on a morning for essentials.
There is no mobile reception which was great. We have upgraded tent and are going back in June and hopefully another couple of times during the school hols, the kids are a couple of years older now but I know they will enjoy it just as much, excellent campsite.

Stayed at this campsite at end of May. Glorious weekend red hot sunshine all weekend.
Lovely campsite really picturesque in a valley with stream going through it.
Down points, Showers were c**p, wasn't even dribbling water the one I went in at 9am and I was stood (with flip flops on) in about a inch of water from where drains don't work properly from showers! Now I know why the showers were all full at 7am, cause no water pressure for rest of the day! Complained to wardens and they said pressure was down on water with site being busy, and were sorry about showers draining, and they would look in to it!
Also next morn there was NO toilet paper in any of the toilets.!
At £25 a night for pitch with electric it annoys you off that the amenities aren't up to it!
But would visit again just to give it another go as campsite it self is beautiful, one of the most prettiest/peaceful ones we've been on!It is 'attached' to rosedale village which was lovely too! But would only go for 2 nights due to shower problem!
It is warden controlled (owners off site) and you feel for them at people moaning at them, think if owners had a weekend there listening to people on about it. Something might get done!
Showers maybe wouldn't bother some people but I would hate to have to use these for a weeks holidays, so thought I would warn other campers like me!

Just had the most fantastic weekend (fri-Tues) on this campsite.
Site is well maintained, toilets are kept clean although they do get a little muddy but only to be expected and showers are hot no matter what time of day.
Only downside is there is only 2 washing up sinks to do pots and had to queue a few times.
Paid a £10 deposit for toilet card to let you in although there were 8 in a tent probably could have done with another pass or male / female pass.
Plenty to do, loads of places to walk to, has playpark on site, nice pub just outside gates and a small village shop 2 mins from site entrance.
Be warned if you have older kids there is a river that goes around rosedale and campsite and there is rope swings over the river. Take loads of clothes and footwear that drys out pretty quick. Does keep them entertained for hrs.

Just had a fab may day bank holiday weekend at Rosedale. We have camped here many times and always find the site excellent. Pitches are flat and well spaced. Toilets are always clean(sometimes the foor is a little muddy but cant be helped in wet weather)and never had to queue for the free showers.
Staff always friendly and very helpful.
Lovely village location although we found the hotel in the village had closed so one less pub I'm afraid.Recommend the Coach Pub though directly outside the site gates for fab food and a warm welcome.
Would recommend this site unreservedly.

This is my second review of this well-situated pleasant site. Had some misgivings because the list of rules is exhaustive, prices have gone up (£25pn with EHU though BH weekend) and filling in booking form requires more information than my doctor holds on me.
Needn't have worried.
The site is in the middle of the picturesque village of Rosedale in the N York Moors, a very short walk away from two good Real Ale pubs (used to be three but Milburn Arms sadly closed last Nov).
The small reception has a small shop, and staff greet you very cheerily as you arrive. Caravans and tents have separate areas, and EHU pitches for tents are limited and need to be booked early.
A word of warning for EHU bookers: the path to the toilet block runs between the two end pitches with the block itself directly behind the end pitch. All other pitches are fine but I wouldn't like the constant traffic so close (probably give up leccy for nicer pitch).
The tent field is spacious, pretty flat, grassy and is bordered by a stream. Close by is a toilet block and a playground. The playground is big & suitable for ball games and has a few pieces for smaller children.
Since our last visit in 2007 two things have changed. First, the site is run in a much more orderly fashion; all tents are shown where to pitch, not just EHU tents, and a 6m distance rule is now enforced. Whether or not last weekend's campers were just much better behaved or not, all was quiet well before midnight, leaving the night free for local owls and other wildlife to be heard.
Second, the toilet block has been improved to give copious free hot water for sinks and showers, shower curtains now protect dry clothes, soap dispensers are now provided and water stays inside shower cubicles. Again, my experience was that the block was always clean and I never had to wait for any facility.
Quite frankly I'm happy to pay the price for a well-run site and cheerful helpful staff in a fantastic location. Deffo returning!
