We have visited this site numerous times now and we love it for a short weekend.

Every time we have visited the toilets have been spotless, there is also a mop and bucket available just in case. Most pitches are lovely and spacious with enough room for tent and the car. There is a small river running down the side of the campsite which is nice for kids to play in as well as the swing going across. The shop/reception is stocked with a few sweets and the option of freezing ice packs. The site is in an excellent location right on the villages doorstep. It is surrounded by moors and two pubs - one jut outside and one further up a hill. The staff are all friendly and always happy to help. This is an excellent site in peaceful surrounding which I would recommend to anyone.

Have been to this site a few times now, both with tents and caravans and the management staff have been very good. But they are not owners so do not set the rules. They don't allow gazebo's, which I think is correct, but you can't have a pup tent even if its within your own pitch. If you want to put an awning up on your caravan, they charge extra even though the tourer pitches are sized to accept awnings. The toilets and showers would be nice if other guests didn't leave them in a state, and didn't let their kids run riot. Shower control was not the best, nor is there any room in the shower cubicle to keep your clothes dry. Tent field can get chaotic as its a free for all 'pitch were you can find a space'. So expect interlocking guys with the next tent to your side! There is a good sized play field for ball games, but some idiots still prefer to kick a ball against your tent / caravan rather than taking it ot the field. And I was sick of people playing their car stereos all day and late into the night. I was kept awake past midnight most nights. Location is lovely, very nice child and dog friendly pubs in the village and the scenary is fantastic. Gets very busy at weekends with daytrippers/walkers and the campsite gets choca. Pickering is not far at all, for additional shopping and its only an hour to the East coast. My wife loves the area, but I'm not keen on the site so I don't know that we'll go again. When its quiet, its lovely. When its busy, its a noisy site that I'd give a miss.

This is a good site in a beautiful setting, the stream running alongside was great for the kids and the play area was good although a little scary for young children as the slide and climbing frames are really high.

Walks from the campsite are plentiful and stunning 3/4 mile routes (ok for kids) are brilliant. The village is lovely with great farm shops/tea shops/pubs and a pretty little church on the site of the former abbey.

Also really busy on site but despite that no loud noise or late night disturbance - only a hedgehog looking to eat our cereal!

The thing that let the site down was the poor toilet/shower facilities, for the whole three days we were there it was swimming in water, muddy and dirty and the weather was perfect not a rain drop in site, so there was no excuse.

So this combined with the relatively high cost for pitching would put me off revisiting. Shame as stunning location

The location of this site is beautiful, very picturesque and a peaceful area.

There is a large playground area, bit big for our children but would suit probably ages 8 and upwards.

The surrounding area is very pretty, we drove to Scarborugh which took around 30-45 mins but was worth the drive through pretty countryside.

Security on site was also very good, using a barrier card to get your car on to the site, for which we had to pay a £10 deposit, returnable providing you didn't lose your card!

The site itself was quite busy, and the noise level continued well after 11pm. There were older children, sort of 13, 14 years old milling around in the playground until going on 11.

The facilities were adequate, plenty of toilets and showers, but the floors got very muddy very early on and nobody seemed to be taking responsibility for cleaning it.

We would return to this site, simply for it's lovely location, but would wait until our children are older.

They had packed many people on the site and decided to pitch us right next to the walkway to the toilets. The toilets gave up on the Saturday (probably due to the sheer number of people using them). This meant a 10 minute walk to the toilets at the top of the site. I waited 20 minutes for a shower and they were disgusting. The water was a mere trickle and made it very hard to wash your hair. Despite assurances from reception that the toilets were cleaned 4 times a day, we did not see them being cleaned once. I know there was a lot of people using the one and only shower and toilet block, but unless someone was leaving dirty clothes and a mess in the exact same place in the toilets, I dont believe them. I dont know how people managed who had children. By Sunday, the other toilet block was up and running but it was no better. They were so bad, we decided to go without a shower on our last day and leave early. There was supposed to be no noise after midnight but this was not enforced, and we had to listen to people shouting and singing until 3am (adults, not children)

Spent the Easter period at Rosedale in all weathers-sunshine, rain, high winds and snow - would not have missed it.
Campsite is very well maintained, secure, with facilities of a very high standard. Very few people camping so had washing area to ourselves, only two pot washing sinks which would probably be not enough in busy periods. Pubs/restaurants very good, the two shops provided everything we needed. Visited camp Eden and Whitby by steam train from Pickering and walked up the chimmney bank which is near to site and has fantastic views. Everyone we met were so friendly and helpful especially the staff on site who helped us out when our car would not start. Cannot reccommend this site enough.

This site is in a stunning setting with great facilities and friendly staff. The children enjoyed the playground, even though the weather was dreadful when we visited (Rosedale Show weekend). But one thing really spoiled it for us and that was the noise around the tent area, which involved car stereo bass beats and rowdiness into the small hours. On checking with the staff, we were told that 'quiet time' is after midnight. So if you, or your younger children, are worn out after lots of fresh air and want to settle down with just the lovely stream to play you to sleep, think again and find a site which has an earlier and enforced 'quiet time'. Perhaps it's different if you're not in a tent or visiting off season, but I think I'll be giving it a miss anyway.

This site is one of the best we have been to so far, and we have tried quite a few both in the Lake District, Hull area, and in the Yorkshire moors area.

The situation of the campsite is beautiful - superb views to the hills.

The facilities are excellent - free showers which makes a change and absolutely immaculate. A lovely quiet site with the tent area separate from the caravaners.

The walks are stunning with easy access to fields for dogwalking.

We shall certainly return and would recommend to anyone. The village is very handy and has everything you need, with a couple of nice pubs / eating places too.

Was very grateful to this site for squeezing us in over the bank holiday where many sites could not. Lovely campsite with nice facilities. You access the site and the main toilet block and showers with a swipe card access.  There was a single unisex toilet which did not need to be swiped into which is a great idea.  Great play area for children of all ages and a somewhat steep dog walk which was worth climbing for the view of the moors at the top. Pitches are not marked out and you can pitch where you like within reason so even though the site got very busy you didnt feel crammed in

The village of Rosedale is very quaint, and can recommend the Coach House at the campsite entrance for food and real ales (sampled both!) Flamingo land, moors steam railway and east coast beaches within driving distance.  Would happily stay here again if in the area but perhaps not on a bank holiday.
