We stayed here at short notice (same day!) and managed to get two pitches as we were camping with another family.
It is in a beautiful location but fairly close to the A65, however the traffic noise wasn't a problem.
We used the showers and toilets. They were not the cleanest we've seen but adequate and there was always plenty of hot water.
We also used the washing up sinks which were fine.
In our field there were lots of young families which was nice and we didn't have any problems with noise late at night.
All in all a very pleasant quiet site with good facilities. Our only suggestion is that they allocate separate toilets for men and women as I think that would improve the cleanliness.

We stayed here as a family and found the overall standard very good.
No doubt kids could get bored, but we were just staying to do a bit of walking, so the site was perfect, if slightly expensive.
There are several bunk houses, as they call them, where you can hire a wee room for either 4 or 6 people. These look a little dated inside, but if you want to camp, without a tent they are probably OK.
We would have no problem in returning to this site in the future, so that is always a good indication on the general standard of the site.
Oh, one thing which we found unusual but quite a good idea; the toilets are made up of several wee individual units, each with a shower, hand basin and WC, with a single front door. This is a nice touch and I am sure very handy for families having young kids.
One though seemed to have drainage problems; water was always running out from under the door. No doubt whoever laid the concrete floor had a dodgy spirit level.
Very handy to the road, but not too noisy

This site is well located for fell walkers, though the nearby road can be noisy.
Facilities are fair, quite clean. Not impressive but adequate.
Pitches are level but can be crowded. I have stayed several times. On one occasion another outfit seemed to annex me. Parking their car at one side and their kids airbeds at the other. (Leaving the front of their tent free for themselves).
So, prices are fair, toilets clean staff friendly.
BUT like many other sites a bit more effort with the toilet block, and some 'rule' about pitching would make it far better.
I will/ do return because cost/convenience is ok.

Visited site during May Bank Holiday. 1st Camping trip since was in Girl Guides ! Went with other half and 2 Boys (9 and 7).
Site was very busy, both fields full but facilities were really good and clean.
Bar was open and was staffed by nice people.
Boys totally loved the site- plenty of room to play 20 a side footie ! We were happy they were safe at all times.
Enjoyed it so much Going back this weekend

This was our first outing as a family and the site was so friendly it has got us hooked ! Not full to capacity and so not really any queues for showers or lack of hot water. Good location and even though close to the A65 there was not much traffic noise. We will be visiting again.

Stayed for 3 nights (28-31 May) - me, my husband and two children aged 15 and 11. It was very busy (half term school hols) - which was to be expected, as all other sites we'd tried had no vacancies for tourer / EHU for those dates. The reviews were spot-on and we had only one complaint in that by the time we got up and sorted for the showers, no hot water left! Otherwise we had no complaints. Site clean, staff friendly and helpful. The site 'shop' soon ran out of provisions due to the heavy demand, so we had to drive into Settle to pick up bread, bacon etc from the local Sainsburys (as I'd unfortunately left our supplies at home all packed up and ready - but still in the freezer! Doh!). We would highly recommend the food at The Royal Oak pub in Settle. Spot on! All home made and their steak and kidney pie (my choice) was superb. We popped up to Ackenthwaite, Milnthorpe to visit family on the Saturday and as we only spent 3 nights couldn't speak for anywhere else, food wise. All other positive points are covered in previous reviews, so won't bore you with any repeats. All in all a wonderful relaxing few days. Would definitely visit again.

We camped here on the last weekend of May, 2 adults & 2 children.
First the good news - the campsite is in a beautiful location (though very near a main road); the pitches are large & it doesn't feel cramped at all, it is all fairly easy going & friendly. And you can freeze your freezer blocks for free!
The bad news - there is a 'quiet policy' after 11pm BUT this is not enforced. Both nights, an enormous group near us were up till the small hours laughing, drinking and playing music - not much fun. There are only 10 toilet/shower cubicles for the whole site so the queues were long at peak times - they are basic, & no hot water for the showers; there is a separate toilet only in a portacabin - no toilet paper in it, & queues to use that too.

Just returned after spending the bank holiday weekend on the site (3 nights). On arrival the owners were very friendly giving us the option of 2 different pitches.
The site is a bit secluded and not a lot to keep the kids busy. (3 kids under 10).
The toilets and showers where good and I liked the individual set up of a shower and toilet in your own personal space, they did get busy early morning and queuing was found.
The bar on site was very expensive, all bottles £2.80! and it shut at 10pm. There is a good pub directly across the road in the village though.
Overall the site itself was excellent, the only downside was the high prices in the bar and the site shop.

Just returned from a three night stay at this site. It was a very busy weekend but plenty of room to pitch your tent. Following previous reviews there are now ten toilet / shower rooms which are kept clean (well as clean as they can be on such a busy weekend). The only downside is the lack of hot water (which is obviously going to run out at some time). I found it was usually hot around tea time.
There is bar on site but it smells quite feisty and last orders is at 10!
All in all I would say this is an excellent site and a very good base for you to explore the wonderful sights close by. I would recommend to anyone and hopefully we will be going back at the end of June.

This was a quiet site midweek in March, with only one other tent on site, and a couple of caravans. This meant there was plenty of space, and of course no queues for the facilities, which were clean, and pleasant. There were 4 individual shower-room / toilets, and these were perfectly fine. The site overall was very good, and the staff friendly. The only thing I would say is that if this site was full, it would be too crowded for my liking. The prices were very reasonable, and the nearby scenery stunning. This site is ideal for basing a visit to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. I shall probably be visiting this site again.
