Had a great time at Wooda and although this is only our second camping trip this site will take some beating. The sea views off in the distance were fabulous but it did get windy.
The site was clean and tidy at all times of the day. Although it was the middle of the school holidays you wouldn't know it as it was very quiet (except for the odd cow mooing), which made for a great holiday for us. N. B. I didn't mean the cows are odd only that there was an occasional moo.
We didn't go to the bar or have a takeaway but various neighbours on site recommended them highly. There was a free quiz on thursdays. The produce in the shop was not overpriced and offered good value for money with all the usual items milk, bread, clotted cream etc.
The toilets were always clean and we never had to queue for a shower or to use the toilet. The free showers in the gents were great, nice and hot with a push button that lasts for approx 30 secs. My other half says the ladies showers were somewhat cooler however she does have the shower at home hot enough to boil spuds so you will have to judge for yourself.
There is also a woodland walk with pixies hidden on the trail. Our 7 year old daughter loved hunting for them and we found 20 however another family had spent a few hours there and found over 40.
The children's playground was good and there were lots of children of all ages there. It is a dog friendly site with a big field for walking them and also for flying kites.
It is well located for north Devon and north Cornwall, we went to Boscastle which was excellent and to Padstow which was pretty packed for a monday. If you go to Padstow at a busy time of the year even if it is raining use the park and ride, it cost 4 pounds but saved a whole lot of grief. The bus stops outside the National Lobster hatchery which is a short walk (5 mins) from the harbour and shops.
The only downside was our pitch had a slope and I pitched the tent across it using the footprint of the previous occupants. We learn from our mistakes!
Brilliant site and would definitely go back.

What a great site we had pitch e4, loads of things to do on site, showers and toilets first class always clean. Pub was good, good food out of the take away. Tennis and golf for kids fishing also. Only down side was the size of our pitch could only fit on the tent, no room for my tarp or to park car
Bude is a 2 miles away, loads of parking at the beach, great surf too, not too busy either. Some great shops. Summerleaze beach is where we went. The sea swimming pool was great, also found Tommys Pit a Victorian swimming pit out to the left of the beach in the rocks
Over all a great place to go and stay

Just returned from 6 days at Wooda. We were camping with a 19 and 20 yr old so wanted somewhere that had the facilities for independence, but not too commercial - Wooda was perfect.
The campsite was clean, well organised but relaxed. Pitch size was excellent - plenty of room for car, tent (Vango Icarus 500) and the cooking equipment. Shower facilities were clean and plentiful and only had to queue on one morning despite the staggered starts! We had a drink at the Courtyard bar and staff were friendly.
We cooked all our own meals - Morrisons definitely did well from our visit and had some lovely supplies for picnics. The campsite shop was well stocked and although others have commented it was pricey it seemed pretty reasonable and certainly no rip offs.
Had fresh croissants on our last morning to save lighting the stove (apart from early coffee for the oldies!) and they were lovely.
We visited Padstow (should be renamed Steinstow) - very very busy on a Sunday - nice walk along the quay - and a walk around the parish church which was beautiful had to have pasties and cornish ice cream - both yummy!
St Austell - delicious crab from the aquarium which sells a beautiful range of fish and seafood, Widemouth Bay - great waves - lots of sand but pretty busy on a sunny day. We went to Bodmin - a little disappointing, but had a lovely picnic in the park.
Also a very interesting trip to Dartmoor Prison museum (a request of my 19 year old) it was fascinating and well worth the £3 entry fee. Also went to Tintagel. Lovely walk to the castle, but not worth the entry fee.
Final day we headed to Hartland Quay. Absolutely spectacular views, really breathtaking. Nice hotel there that seemed to serve reasonable bar meals.
Overall somewhere we will return to. And the best news, the 19yr old daughter who was a reluctant camper is now planning our next trip.

We have visited this campsite twice now and it is our favourite one. The facilities are spotless and despite visiting during peak season, we never queued for the toilets or showers.
There are family bathrooms available which you can share with one or two other families. There are 2 large fields for tents and you can choose where you would like to pitch.
This suits us perfectly as our tent is large and we like to be tucked away somewhere. The bar serves good food and drink and there is a games room with pool and table tennis.
There is also a snack bar which sells all sorts, including burgers, fish and chips and pizza. Always handy!
There are tractor rides for children around the campsite too which was a huge hit with our 2 sons.
The site is a short drive from the centre of Bude and well placed to visit both Devon and Cornwall.
We have stayed on several sites over the years and this one beats them all hands down! We are planning another visit again soon.

Just stayed for the first week of August at Wooda. Hubby booked as was recommended and he trusted the 5 star rating. But. I was bitterly disappointed, as was hubby. Will list the pros and cons here they are
Pros.
Possibly the best dog exercise area we have ever visited. Huge field with a mown track around the edge so owners, or those with elderly or small dogs can keep feet dry. Secure fenced area with kissing gate and two dogs poop bins.
Take Away served very good food and fast and good value
Friendly staff at reception
Cons.
Pitch we were given, full service P20, was way too short for a twin axle van, we weren't given any alternative. Couldn't put up fall size awning as brick 'structure' with drain and tap made it impossible so small awning, thank goodness we brought it, had to go up. Thankfully on the last morning the people opposite had gone and we were able to drive onto their pitch to hitch up
Pitch P20, was only a hedge away from the play area. I don't mind children at all but when the screaming goes on from 8 in the morning till gone 11 at night with no let up I was frazzled ! The sign says no unaccompanied under 8's. We saw plenty.
Shower blocks though plentiful weren't all that spotless. Being a thoughtful 'mopper' I was faced on the first morning with a filthy mop in a bucket with even more filthy water. Day two mop had vanished. Day 6 a new one appeared !
Departure was by 10. 30 am on final day, not a problem except they were allowing arrivals from 10am ! Chaos at the reception area where we couldn't even exit with the van.
Wifi, bought for a week £15 did not work for more than the first day. So we complained and had a 50 per cent refund
We wont stay at Wooda again because of the noise and the pitch sizes and frankly it seemed too big and cramped everywhere.

Had stayed on site may times before but not been back in 3 years. Lovely to find the site still the same great standard for camping and touring. The site is always clean and tidy and nice landscaping, toilets and showers are plenty and nice and hot. The shop has all you can need and all you forgot. Staff very friendly and helpful and plenty of local knowledge.
Children are nice and safe and a great playground and open space to play in. Teens have got a pool and table tennis room to keep them happy.
I don't have a dog but can see they are catered for with there own walking field.
Hidden gems are the forest walk and the fishing lake at the bottom, there's also a small gym and badminton if you are feeling fit.
Now what is the treat of the site the bar, nice small bar at the bottom with local beers/ciders but the food is excellent, all prepared fresh, large portions and delicious, we ate there more then the tent cooker, well it was holiday.
Bude is about 11/2 miles away great beaches and canal, nice seaside town we didn't venture further than that for the week
I always try to be constructive in reviews and would like to put some bad points but I cannot for this site, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Just had a fantastic week at this site with great weather.
We stayed on a 'fully serviced' pitch besides the children's play area.
It was the first week of the school summer holidays and to be fair, the site was only about 70% full.
The site has its own shop which is well stocked with all essentials and fairly reasonably priced.
It has a takeaway facility offering fish & chips, burgers and pizza's. Or they also have their own bar / restaurant (can not comment further as we did not go inside on this occasions).
You'll be happy to hear that the push buttons on these showers last more than the annoying 8s or so, you seem to get at least 40 - 60s (wasn't timing, but it was good not having to push the thing that often).
The gents always seemed clean although the lighting in both the toilet and shower cubicles seemed very dim and could possibly be improved. My wife commented on the ladies showers and felt this needed more attention to cleaning (ladies hair caught up in the plastic shower mats) and again poor lighting within the blocks.
Our pitch was of a good size, and the site kept remarkably clean and tidy with the buzzing of a ride on mower as soon as a pitch was vacated.
We have 5 & 6 yr old sons who thoroughly enjoyed there time and were very said to leave at the end of the week.
The site is only about 2 miles from Bude itself which has some fantastic beaches as well and lovely places to visit like Port Isaac, Boscastle, Padstow. Nearest supermarket is Morrisons which is about 1. 5 miles from site.
All in all we had a fantastic time and will be hopefully heading back next year.
Our only negative comment for the site is that it does not have a swimming pool, but we knew this when booking.

Just had fantastic week at Wooda, the site has to be the best we've ever been on, and we've been camping a long time! It was clean, tidy, well landscaped.
Staff were helpful whatever we needed to know. Food from takeaway was excellent and reasonable. We never ate in, but heard no complaints. Very quiet at night.
Loads of hot water, very good free showers, never had to queue all week( although not summer hols at time).
Families with children were well catered for with excellent playground. Will definitely go back again!

Just got back from wooda (05/08/11), well thought out site with very high standards. Shop very well stocked and lots of thought gone into what they stock. The pub is very nice (get in early) gets very busy. We had meals on 4 occasions and could not fault the food.
We did the woodland walks which were nice. There is a nice play area for the kids with lots of space for ball games only problem was 10-11 at night the play ground seemed to be taken over by some very noisy youths so if you had a pitch backing onto the play ground (you would need hear plugs).
The shower blocks were clean most of the time and there was never any waiting for the showers, Power Showers, water was always hot, they never lost any water pressure(after a day on beach you did not want to get out of the showers) great.
Our pitch E3 lovely and wide, only good thing to say. We have a hartford L with extension (first time we have used it)we had the tent as far back as we could and after we had put it up with the extension, we had less than 1/2 meter of space to the tarmac road.
The spaces opposite were also very close (you felt like you were very enclosed)how these people with caravans got in I do not know. Getting cars in and out 10 point turns over other peoples pitches.
The overflow fields seem like a better idea if we go again (some electric pitches available). Dog lovers will love this site, dogs everywhere,
Overall: not a bad site, not what I would call relaxing with cars / caravans / motor homes / tractors / diggers / sainsburys delivery van / bikes all going up and down from 7am in front of the tent and behind our bed rooms.
Bude nice place to visit, best beach widemouth bay. Morrisons + sainsburys for shopping and a boot sale near morrisons on a sunday and Thursday (free entry)the farmers market in bude on a Friday (not much there) rowing boats available great for the kids for a an hour.

Stayed here for a long weekend in July. When I booked I was informed that there was only room in the overflow field, this was not surprising as it was the summer holidays.
We arrived on site at 7. 30pm a little later than planned and were happy to find reception still open and expecting us. We were given the choice of both overflow fields and told to pitch where we were happy, but to keep a reasonable distance from others.
This suited us fine as we were after a relaxing weekend just me and my partner. We settled on pitching in overflow field 2 as it was closer to the facilities.
We had loads of options of where to pitch and decided on a space in the corner of the field. It was disappointing on Saturday afternoon to return to find a noisy family had arrived and pitched approx a meter away from our tent.
There was plenty of space in the whole field so this was inconsiderate and the large open space encouraged ball games in the field despite there being a play area. Unfortunately there are no pitches marked out in this field so be warned that people may pitch close!
That aside the toilet block is good quality, considering how busy the site was I didn't wait for a shower once. The showers are nice and big and designed so your clothes don't get wet! There were 2 free hair dryers.
There is a campers kitchen which has 3 washing up sinks, microwave, freezer and plugs so you can charge your phone whilst washing up. We thought this was a great set up.
The shop was open daily from 8am until about 8pm and sold the basics at reasonable prices - there is also a Morrisons about a 10min drive away.
Bude is very close and has plenty of shops.
We also spent one afternoon at the fishing lake and caught some fish. It is a bit of a walk from the main accommodation areas so best to take plenty of food and drink with you.
Other than the lack of privacy with our pitch we thought this was one of the best sites we have stayed at and the staff are very helpful. We will stay again, but next time on a booked pitch!
