We stayed for 6 nights at this site. The views, service and cleanliness were second to none. The shower block was clean and warm with big cubicles and loads of hot water with powerful showers.
Although we had no children with us the playground was great. The views were fantastic from all pitches, which are all spacious.
The pitch and putt was fun and there is a pub and takeaway on site should you need it.
Closeby is Widemouth Bay. Unmissable for the views, walks and to watch the surfers. Morrisons, Sainsburys and the Coop are the supermarkets in Bude/Stratton none of which are more than 10 mins by car.
Overall a superb place to stay and we will definitely return.

This is probably the best site that we have ever visited.
The grounds are immaculately maintained, The toilets & shower facilities are excellent, They were always clean & we never had to queue, granted we did go in June when the kids were still at school, and the camp was about 50% full
The fishing is great, There are some good walks on the site as well. The pitch & putt is good fun.
There is a sea view from a lot of pitches on site,
Bude is about a 10 minute drive away.
There is a large morrisons about 5 minutes away

We have just returned from a fantastic week camping at Wooda. We haven't visited lots of sites however we can tell this will probably take some beating.
Our pitch, E79, was in a sheltered location in a quiet corner of the site, with hedges along two sides. Our only criticism would be that the pitch was not level and was in complete shade after about 5pm. However, ours seemed to the only pitch with this problem so next time we will just pick a different pitch further up the site.
The toilet block was very clean and fairly modern. The showers are the push type but you get a good 30 seconds per push so plenty of time. There are two main toilet and shower blocks, one on each side of the site and a third smaller block attached to the side of the shop/reception. All were clean and similar in design. There are also two large undercover washing up areas, a wetsuit washing area and family bathrooms available to hire.
The on site takeaway was good, selling the usual fish, chips, burgers and pizzas as well as salads and jacket potatoes. It was reasonably priced and very tasty. We also had take out from Bude Tandori (Indian) and Chungs (Chinese) both of which we would recommend. We did not eat or drink at the courtyard bar as we had our dog with us who couldn't go inside the bar. There is a dog field on site where they can run off the lead as it is fenced in.
The shop was well stocked, we visited every morning to buy a pint of milk and a carton of juice. The staff were also very friendly. The lady in reception recommended local places to eat and even printed us off a menu. We had a BBQ one night and went to reception to ask for bricks so as not to burn the grass. They had run out as it was a lovely evening and they had given them all out already. However, 5 minutes later a man who we believe was the owner arrived in his truck with some bricks he had fetched for us especially.
Overall we had a fantastic week, we only returned home today and already we are looking to book our next stay at Wooda.

Fabulous site. I had previously discounted this site as it looked to be too commercial & big for my taste, however needing only one night at short notice I called & was told they had vacancies, arriving 10 mins.
Later I was warmly & efficiently welcomed & the cost for one night - no electric- was only £8 a real bargain.
There was plenty of hot water & for once more shower cubicles than toilets!
Bude is a pleasant little town with all the normal gifty shops, I was there for the folk festival which was excellent.

Wooda is a great family friendly, value for money camping site. The welcome was warm and friendly. The static caravan was clean, comfortable and well kitted out. The camp site's shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. The reception area was well stocked with information on the local area and the staff were always happy to help with any questions. The camp facilities were well maintained with a great children's play area and free tractor rides for all. There was a lovely area for the children to meet some of the farm animals with goats and chickens so friendly you could stroke them.
The free Easter Egg hunt was a hit for young and old. Our family loved the woodland walk spending ages hunting in the trees and bushes for hidden Cornish Pixies.
As our stay was at the very beginning of the season the on site cafe/restaurant was not yet open which was a shame as the food available for take away was burger/sausage/pizza and chips. It would have been nice to have had some home cooked food (the menu displayed for later in the season looked very appetising), but this did not affect our holiday over all.
As the camp site was aimed towards families there was very little noise outside in the evenings which was useful when it came to bedtime for smaller children. It was also a safe place for the children to play outside as due to the layout of the caravans and pitches traffic was kept to a minimum.
In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we've booked a return visit for the end of the summer!

Wooda is an excellent camp site, equipped and maintained to the very highest standard. We stayed for a short stay in one of the new 2011 static caravans (Holly).
Can say with full confidence that it was very, very good in all facets. Very comfortable, very good water pressure, immaculate appearance and good location.
Can highly recommend both the Caravan and Wooda.

We stayed here at Wooda for two nights mid week in a motorhome which we hired for the first time just to see how the other half live haha. Bearing in mind the time of year, the site was maintained to a very high standard with the toilet blocks spotless and ample hot water. All pitches were very very tidy and this down to the ground staff always pottering about cutting lawns and general upkeeping. A slight niggle of mine is that when we arrived and paid for the two nights I was then told the bar was closed for the season, also the shop was closed until Saturday (we arrived Thursday),and the sports facility was also closed due to a wedding reception on sat. These are minor problems which could be solved by letting you know before you arrive( we had already called earlier) and hand over your hard earned cash.
Apart from this my overall view of the park is very nice and well maintained. Bude itself is very small and not to much going on there but still worth a walk down to from the park which takes around 30 mins. There is also a morrisons close by to which if your travelling in a caravan or motorhome is great for parking up in.

Stayed over the bank holiday. It was quick, easy and very professional check-in. We loved the pitch we were given and were offered two alternatives should it be unsuitable.
The grounds were well tended. The facilities were excellent - hot showers, great washing up room and fab idea to have a campers kitchen with use of freezer and microwave.
We walked into Bude via the beautiful cliff top walk we were recommended by the receptionist. We had great meals at the Brendon Arms and really enjoyed being in Bude on Lifeboat day as the atmosphere was fab. Would love to return next year.

After a very stressful journey of 8 hours which resulted in our 1968 VW giving up 3 miles away from the site, the welcome we received in Reception was very warm and sympathetic. They really couldn't do enough for us.
We found the site to be absolutely fantastic with excellent shower and toilet facilities - no queues or nasty surprises!
The site itself is perfect for families and couples alike with plenty to do for everyone. We had a good laugh with the pitch and putt and enjoyed two excellent meals from the pub.
We took two 14 year olds with us who were not bored at all.
We would definitely go back to Wooda but hopefully with a fully functioning van, it would be slightly easier than having to get taxis everywhere!
Bude is very pleasant and we went for the surfing which was great. We were also there for the Lifeboat weekend and the atmosphere was excellent.

Just thought we'd add a comment following on from our review a couple of weeks ago.
Having gone away on a 3 * site for the bank holiday, we kind of realise that our criticism of the cleanliness of the site was perhaps a little harsh. Yes, other campers were inconsiderate in how they left the showers and toilets at times. But on the whole the facilities on offer are excellent - hot showers, spacious sinks & showers, no charge to use hair drier or showers, good lighting, good mirrors, places to hang coats etc, no yucky smells. I could go on. I do still think mops would be good and also possibly steps for little people to stand on when washing hands or cleaning teeth. We are experienced campers who tend to only use 5* sites. Maybe we'd become over critical of the top sites.
Will we be returning? We are booking wooda for next year - this week! We all loved it!
