Went for the family holiday this year, and had mixed feelings.
The complex/entertainment & its staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful.
Blackpool is a short drive away, and open top buses run regularly through the day via the zoo and other attractions.
I was dissapointed with the pitch itself, the normal electric, there is level hardstanding for your car and van, with a small bit of grass for your awning, which may, or may not be anywhere near level, this I found far too small, and the edge of our small awning almost met the pitch next to us. However the super pitches further over looked much better, with plenty of awning space, and a water/drain/TV connection.
The wardens were unhelpful, and miserable, to the extent of been round knocking at your door at 9.30 to make sure you were going to be off by 10, then back at 10 to make sure youd gone, and if not you had to pay another £8.
The shower/toilet block, although recently refurbished, weren`t up to much, basic, push button showers too hot, and nowhere to put your clothes whilst in the shower exept the floor.

Just stayed here Mon to Fri on a special Internet deal and found it to be great value for the money. Had a premier pitch and although the ground outside was a bit worn (not on all pitches) the pitch size and car parking was great. Had a lovely view of the Mere and the ducks. The site itself is huge but well kept. The toilets and showers were always clean and the female warden who checked our caravan stay was really pleasant and helpful. There are always security about and if not then there are telephone numbers to ring. My daughter and family also booked in their own tourer and my grandson loved going to feed the ducks every day. The weather itself turned out to be warm 3 days out of the 4 so a lovely barbecue was also had. The amusements were great for the kids and although we only went into the evening entertainment once we found it to be quite good probably a bit expensive if with a few kids though. All in all we found this site to be good and with only an hour from home it will probably be a regular stay for us.

We stayed here for four nights on a premier pitch for the bargain price of £40.20.The pitch was well tended with a concrete hard-standing and grass to the side ,although the site slopes down to the lake the pitch its self was level.I would not recommend the standard pitches as they did appear to be very uneven and close together. Never had a problem with the showers, there was always hot water and no queues .Toilets were always clean. The shop provided for all our basic needs and was not over priced. There is a bus that comes into the site and a trip to Blackpool centre costs £1.70 per person. If you enjoy a walk there is a foot path from the site to Stanley Park and the zoo. Also a circular walk around the lake takes about 30 minutes. Every Sunday there is a large car boot sale just down the road ,worth a visit. You get all you expect from a Haven holiday park, entertainment, pools ,bike hire etc.Great for families. A good site from which to visit Blackpool.

We spent the mayday bank holiday with the grand children here we booked a premier pitch with awning space on arrival at 3pm we were told to find a pitch and setup and the warden would come along and book us in. We found a pitch having a euro van we pitched on a top pitch we had to use maximum leveling blocks, set up awning and along came the elderly warden moaning the boss had just turfed the pitch and wouldn't like us there (tough) went to put our waste in drain all blocked up with old turf clods . Later at showers we find lots of people waiting for 3 showers for about 100 pitches .
Went round to the entertainment centre to access anything you have to pass through the arcade , then the aqua bar , then the cafe, then the pay as you play games for the children £1.50 for 15 minutes on a bouncy castle, trampoline or cars , then you finally access the small free play area.
At night the club seemed fair drinks not too expensive artists ok but as is now the norm the bar stays open till all the customers go out or end up fighting .
After closing the noise on site was terrible

We shall not be going back to this camp site again in a hurry, it was the only site in the area that had a pitch suitable for my van that weekend . The toilet and shower block were a disgrace it looked like they had not been cleaned at all during the day. My friend and I went into the showers on Friday night and we were both nearly sick from the smell the cubicles were had seats that were broken. For a Haven site you expect more than this especially a the prices they charge. It may have been the last week end of the season but that can't be used as a excuse, I reported a waste disposal point that was blocked up and over flowing on the Saturday morning it was still blocked when we were packing up to leave on the Sunday morning, I also found out that I was the second person to report it that weekend.

Booked this site for the bargain price of £28 for 4 nights. The pitches are a bit on the small side and a good tip is to pitch at the top of the hill as the pitches lower down become part flooded if it rains. The facilities were clean and the entertainment good, although the showbar was very hot even at this time of the year. The bus runs off the site to Blackpool so no need to get the car out. Lovely walk to Stanley Park or the Zoo. Would stay on the site again as perfect for seeing the illuminations.

Very disappointing site, firstly the pitches were all uneven and I mean uneven, my awning was on a 45 degree slope (not joking) fine if you get their early as it is first arrival first pick, there is also not much room between vans. The touring site was full of litter everywhere and the showers were filthy, and only four of them for about 300 people, 2 of the showers were broke and you had to keep your hand on them, so the morning routine was a joke with my 2 year old to shower as well, the swimming pool was completely packed every session with communal changing rooms and only about 10 cubicles, body's everywhere, club house was ok with not bad entertainment but again you had to get their about 5 o'clock to get a seat. So all in all. If you get their about lunch time to get a half decent pitch, then shower about 6 o'clock in the morning to avoid the rush for four showers, then get first in line for the pool, and grab a seat in the club house at 5, you will love it, other wise forget it! I think haven need to really address the amount of people to the proportion of the site- then I may return.

We visited this site for the bank holiday weekend with our 8yr old son and 5yr niece. On arrival we were told to choose a pitch then go back to reception when we were set up-great, if like you arrive early but later arrivals were driving around looking for suitable pitches. The pitches are very close together it was caravan, awning, car, caravan etc no space at all in between. First impression-it was like pitching up in netto car park!
We were very disappointed with the toilet and shower blocks. They could have been a lot cleaner and in need of a long overdue facelift! there was only 4 showers and a constant queue in the mornings. The showers were hot but that is the only positive thing about them. The staff at the site were friendly and the entertainment was great for the children. We didn't use the pool as our son had a pot on his leg but it looked ok. The onsite shop was a decent size and well stocked. There is plenty for the kids to do, a large outdoor adventure playground and crazy golf as well as bike hire which seemed very popular. Blackpool is within easy reach, £7.50 by taxi and there is a bus stop on site with regular buses.
All in all we had a good weekend. The disappointment of the pitches and showers was balanced by the great entertainment and childrens facilities. The weekend was cheap if we had paid more we would have had something to complain about but the price reflects the facilities We would visit this site again as long as it was another cheap deal.

The site is ok, the pitches are very close together, once the awning is up we had to enter and exit from the side as there was no room left between us and the next van, the pitches are on a slope which we found annoying as no matter where you put tables and chairs you couldn't get a level area. It is very dark at night with hardly any lights around the touring area, the showers and toilets I found fine with the added benefit of the keypad lock on the doors for security. we have a dog and always cleanup behind him which some owners didn't, 3 out of the 5 days we was there we had to pick up dog mess that had been left on the grass at the side of our van by other dogs. we would go back again but only because there is plenty to keep the kids entertained and not because of the site itself.
