We had wanted to visit here for ages and finally managed a long weekend.
Stunning location with plenty of walking and cycling with no need to use the vehicle. Pitches large and level, we were allocated 21, that gave fantastic sunset views over the lake.
Fantastic walk up the cliff to the church and down to the Shipp Inn for lunch. A walk to the Dolphin for a swift pint. Had friends visit and had coffee at the cafe on the approach to site.
Immaculate and unique shower/poilet cubicles with waterfall shower.
Had lovely rides on the Beach to Weston-Super_Mud on outfit tyre e-bikes. At dusk one evening, as the sunset another. Just what we wanted to enjoy our break.
Grey waste dump on way out making it easy.
Secure gates.
We will visit again, if we can get in after giving this review. It really is a superb site.

A hidden gem on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare.
Small 25 pitch site (plus overflow field) surrounding a small lake with stunning views of the church at Uphill.
We've been here a few times in the past and loved it, apart from the very dated facilities.
Now there's a brand new block of 6 individual shower rooms (shower, sink & toilet) and a small (2 sinks) indoor washing up area. Drinking water, waste water point and elsan disposal also housed in the same area.
Lovely hardstanding pitches with 10amp EHU.
They also now have a small shop on site. The 'new' owners have worked really hard. Love watching the robot lawnmower!
Good security with electric gates, all coded in and out.
Great cafe right outside the site with outside seating as well as indoors.
2 pubs in the village. We used the Ship for a meal and drink. A bit overpriced for the quality but it was OK (£17 for lasagne).
Small shop in the village too, but we've not found it yet.
You can walk into Weston via the beach too and there are walks in the other direction to Brean.
We only had a 1 night stop over this time but have already booked for New Year and Easter 2025 and cannot wait to be back.

This was my first stay at a campsite in my camper van. The booking process through the sites own website and I received confirmation and extremely detailed and helpful information prior to my stay.
The site was easily accessible from the M5 and is set in a most beautiful spot a short distance from Weston Super Mare and adjacent to a superb cycling and walking trail.
The checking in process was fast and efficient and I was able to extend my stay by a night without any problem.
Although the site was pretty much fully booked I was immediately struck by how quiet and peaceful it was. I had 2 nights excellent sleep and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Don’t let the approach road fool you this site is clean tidy and well laid out around a small lake, the main amenities block is new with 5? rooms each with showers toilets and hand basins, very clean too.
Pitches are all hard standing (my first, and only, dislike, why put in hard stands and not make them level?) pitches 5, 6 and 7 are north facing with large hedges behind so only see the sun first thing in the morning’s.
The location of the site 600 metres from the vast Weston S Mare beach and at the centre of a network of footpaths and nature reserves is a massive draw for visitors.
There are 2 pubs and a small shop within easy walking distance. It’s very quiet at night and peaceful during the day.
All in all a very nice site for a few days of walking, sitting relaxing looking over the lake and its wildlife, or a longer stay to explore the vast amount of tourist attractions on the doorstep and beyond.
The perfect site should never be found because if I find it and you agree that’s the end of the game!

Great site around a small lake near Weston Super Mare. Two pubs and a cafe very local to site.
There is also a shop in Uphill for newspapers. Wifi and TV reception is not too good due to location.
Nice walks to Weston and Blean if you need it also cycling if its your thing. Good for us motorhomers to pitch up.
There is now a new washblock with unisex cubicles and a washing up area. They were still being completed when we were there. They are much nicer than the old block, but the hanging hooks are a bit small and we found the floors wet from showers.
They ventilation could be better

Just back from a week at uphill marina and the site really has two sides to it!
Then campsite part where you park around the lake it fantastic mainly level hardstanding pitches so with a grass area grass around the lake and the pitches is kept cut by the robot lawnmower that goes abiut it's business daily.
There's a fantastic cafe literally just outside of the main electric gate the beach is 5 minute walk and there's two pubs within a 10 minute wa both dog friendly and serves decent pub food.
NOW for the other side of the campsite: the toilet and shower blocks were inadequate for the number of pitch and also possibly the worse we have come across and really do let the site down massively. You can't use them at all between 10:30pm and 7am for some unknown reason that wasn't explained to us at all. Neither was that our pitch was the light coloured stones and the "footpath" was the dark so we had to move of windbreaker in about 3 inches which then left no room to have the awning out!
It really does pain me to leave negative comments as I was talking to the owner and she was really nice but these issues really need addressing soon as the facilities really do let what could be a fantastic site.
I have based my scores on the current facilities of the site.

Lovely site but spoilt by facilities that let it down badly.
We had stayed here about 6 years ago, in the winter, prior to the new owners, and had hoped they'd have updated the facilities. A bit disappointed to be honest because they have obviously spent money elsewhere and for us (and lots of others we spoke to) the facilities are an important part of the experience.
That being said the view from most of the pitches is stunning (depending on where you're pitched). Our pitch was large with a great view, but I think we would've been disappointed had we been on number 5 or 6.
No recycling on site, just 2 large bins near the entrance.
The site felt very secure with electric gates at the entrance.
Easy, friendly check in as they text you the gate code on the morning of your arrival and you've also paid in full by then.
The Boathouse cafe/bistro (doggie friendly) is just outside the site and worth a visit. We had breakfast there one morning and it was lovely and not over priced.
2 pubs in the village. We only had a drink in one of them, The Ship.
Steep walk up to the church but well worth it for the views.
Nature reserve and walk to Brean directly from the site too.
Easy walk into Weston-super-Mare, along the beach, and beyond.
We would love to go back sometime, but probably not until the facilities have been renewed.

Stunnng campsite. Such beautiful views. Peaceful & relaxed.
Toilet/shower blocks clean & tidy.
Close to local shop & pubs. Bar/bistro next door. Only wish it had been open longer !
Not too far from Weston.
Will revisit for longer next time !
